That was at LWB with Tierney at left of 3 CBs. He had to do a lot less defending than a LB and was half playing in CM due to Arteta’s weird system! That suited him more I think
He isn’t a LB, that’s the worry – Arteta has run out of natural LB’s, and is using a ‘makeshift’ one… good luck AMN, one of those days you’l be given a real chance to shine – in midfield
A good utility player. Nowhere closer to what Milner does at Pool. He was good as a wingback in 343 but can never be a LB / RB. I wonder if he even knows his best position yet.

This looks like a seriously dysfunctional team. No left footer in defence, just Aubameyang and AMN on the left who both like to come inside and a slow CM pairing. Let’s hope our right continues to work wonders.

Agree Zaha will be a big threat. Also with this defense, wonder whether Elneny could have been preferred to start than Ceballos. Really excited to see what we do as an attacking unit – this could be a high scoring game.
Agreed, I’d rather have had Elneny but then I’ve really not rated Ceballos. How I’d love to see an all-action pairing of Partey and someone like Sabitzer, that’d give us so much drive in midfield!

Hope Tierney is ok, I know it says he’s just been leftout as a precaution but in the past players have been left out as a precaution and the missed the next 6 months and never been the same player after! E.g. Wilshere
