Arsenal’s postponed Premier League clash with Liverpool will take place at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday 16 March at 8.15pm.
The match was originally scheduled for the last weekend of February but that clashes with the Carabao Cup final which Jurgen Klopp’s men recently reached at our expense.
Liverpool’s trip to London is sandwiched between a home game with Leicester and a trip to Aston Villa. Coming just before the March Interlull, it will be a crunch week in our quest for a top-four finish.
Our trips to Chelsea and Sp*rs still need to be rearranged. The former was postponed due to a clash with the FIFA Club World Cup while the January trip to the toilet bowl was called off in January when we struggled to raise the minimum number of players.
It’s a long way off, and we can’t know what the situation will be by then, but I think it’s realistic that we can get a result, at home (with eleven on the pitch) against one of the best sides in Europe.
Not long enough ahead for me not to have made a booking for that night that I can’t get out of! Bugger it!
Leicester, Liverpool, Villa? Holy moly, this is gonna be a hell of a week.
Interestingly, Liverpool are playing West Ham on the 5th, Inter on the 8th, and going to Brighton on the 12th, before receiving United on the 20th. Not an easy ride either…
Thanks for this, makes me feel better!
That 😊 feeling when your bully has a series of unfortunate events.
But you still have to control your face muscles so they don’t take it out on you 😐
8.15 ko’s in midweek can fuck right off
Of course our game before this is on a Sunday and the game after is on a Wednesday, instead of the other (more logical and reasonable) way around. Why did I even bother to check? Utterly predictable.
I suppose Leicester might have a ECL game the Thursday before, so fine, but I know Villa’s got nothing going on to keep their game from being on a Sunday.
“The match was originally scheduled for the last weekend of February but that clashes with the Carabao Cup final”. Umm what? Both teams were facing each other in the semi final – what were the schedulers planning with the original schedule exactly?
Umm what??
The Premier League fixture list was released way back in June 2021.
They always plan a full round of fixtures on the League cup final weekend, and then just postpone the two fixtures that involve the two teams that reached the League Cup final.
Mind you, they could have sorted that game out the moment Liverpool and Arsenal were drawn together in the semi! Or would that be to radical an idea for the people who run football?
Regarding the picture of Klopp above I hope he has a miserable face like that when the final whistle blows on March 16th…
Coming off second best in another touchline scrap with Micky
Let’s see Laca gets the assist for the ESR goal. Check. He then makes the second goal possible by: keeping Jansson from intercepting a bad pass by fighting then fouling him. Then, and this part is almost as delicious as the resulting goal, giving Pontus the impetus to get a yellow for dissent. We score on the retained possession. Check and double check. 6.0? Really? Laca isn’t scoring but we don’t score without him doing his dirty work thing. Get your head out of the obvious stats, Blogs. Appreciate what Laca is doing. Don’t hate him for what he isn’t.… Read more »
