Arsenal have confirmed that youngster Reuell Walters has signed his first professional contract after making great strides with the under-18s and under-23s.
The 17-year-old right-back, who bears an uncanny resemblance to a young Serge Gnabry, says he’s benefitting from a strong relationship with academy coach Kevin Betsy and already has his sights on the first team.
“There’s a lot of stuff behind the scenes that I’ve been doing to work on my game off the pitch, and also around the training ground that’s helped me on the pitch,” he told Arsenal.com.
“I can’t say a bad word about Kevin Betsy. Me and him get on really well and Mehmet (Ali) has just joined us as assistant as well and I’ve known Mehmet for a while now, so it’s been really good getting to see him again.”
He added: “My goal is definitely to try and break into the first team, I see myself being at this club long term, if I push on.
“I try to not really base my game around anyone in the first team, but I do look at them for how they train and how they apply themselves every day, so that I can copy that and be the best version of myself.”
Best of luck to Reuell, we look forward to following his progress.

Speaking of Serge, how is his contract situation at Bayern?

Good luck to him. Signing a contract is a big step forward, hope he can make the next step and get into the first team.
Sounds very much like he has exactly the right mindset and character. I wish him all the very best.
