Times and dates set for Arsenal Women’s WSL run-in

Arsenal Women’s schedule for the remainder of the season is now set with confirmation today that the final WSL games of the season will all kick off at 12noon on Sunday, 8th May.

The Gunners’ home game against Aston Villa a week earlier, on Sunday, 1st May, has been set for 12.15pm at Meadow Park and will be shown live on BBC Two.

The postponed North London derby, which was due to take place on Saturday, 26th March, was also confirmed for Wednesday, 4th May at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal trail Chelsea by a point at the top of the WSL and both teams have four league games remaining. Chelsea play at home to Champions League qualification chasing Manchester United on the final day of the season. The Women’s FA Cup Final will take place on Sunday, 15th May at Wembley Stadium with the Gunners taking on Chelsea at home in the semi-final this Sunday.

Arsenal’s schedule for the remainder of the season is as follows, with an FA Cup Final on 15th May should they get past Chelsea this weekend:

Sunday, 17th April
Arsenal v Chelsea. Meadow Park, 12.30pm. (FAC Semi-Final). Live on BBC Two.

Sunday, 24th April
Everton v Arsenal. Walton Hall Park, 6.45pm (WSL). Live on Sky Sports.

Sunday, 1st May
Arsenal v Aston Villa. Meadow Park, 12.15pm (WSL). Live on BBC Two.

Wednesday, 4th May
Arsenal v Tottenham Hotspur. Emirates Stadium, 7.15pm (WSL). Live on BBC Two.

Sunday, 8th May
West Ham United v Arsenal. Chigwell Construction Stadium, 12noon (WSL). Broadcast details TBC.

Last game of the season kicking off two hours before a men’s home game isn’t ideal. Rules out a lot of fans who would like to support both sides in the flesh.

Be good if the club streamed the match on the big screens in the Emirates prior to the men’s game – probably a better incentive to get supported in the stadium earlier than the ‘buy one get one free’ beer offer they’ve run in the past.
