Arsenal Women boss Jonas Eidevall says that the fact that tickets for Sunday’s Women’s FA Cup tie between Arsenal and Chelsea Women are sold out at Meadow Park is “normal.”
All tickets have been sold for the clash between the top two in the WSL, when asked about the sellout by Alex Ibaceta in his Friday press conference, Eidevall said, “I think it’s good but I think it deserves a much higher attendance.
“I could see this game being in front of 30,000, 40,000 or 50,000 spectators. I am not going to jump around and say this is the best thing for us ever.
“I think it’s normal, these are two of the best teams in the world playing in a really important game. If this game wasn’t sold out given the capacity we have at Meadow Park, I would have been really, really worried.
“That would mean we are not moving in the right direction so this is the least that we could expect, it’s nice but we need to grow more.”
SOLD. OUT.

Meanwhile, there have been reports in the Italian press over the last few days that Juventus are interested in signing Australian international Caitlin Foord.
Juve are coached by former Gunners boss and Caitlin’s compatriot Joe Montemurro, who brought Caitlin to Arsenal in January 2020. Foord’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Eidevall’s answer over the rumours was emphatic, “I have no idea if it is true that Juventus are interested but I am clear and the club is very clear that we want Caitlin to stay as an Arsenal player. That is our ambition.” Eidevall also confirmed that Rafaelle and Mana Iwabuchi are expected to return from injury for Sunday’s game.

Dear Joe, thank you for introducing Caitlin to our club. Now leave her with us!
Borehamwood is nicer than Turin anyway!
Plus of having your bff move to London is that I’ll be in London this weekend. Downside is that he doesn’t care about this game at all and I don’t see him much obviously so I’m not gonna spend the day at Borehamwood. Will still be cheering on from (not so) far.
I hope Arsenal can do what needs to be done and get to the final. Will also give a boost to end the league with all wins.
