Arsenal have recalled Harry Clarke from his loan spell at Hibernian with reports suggesting the 21-year-old defender is on his way to Stoke City.
Clarke signed an 18-month deal at Easter Road in January after impressing during the first half of the SPL season with Ross County.
While he’s not played as much as he might have liked – injuries have taken a toll – his seven appearances for the Hibees has been enough to garner interest from the Championship.
As a consequence, we’ve triggered a six-month break clause in his contract to facilitate a loan to the Orcs.
Clarke, who has also spent time at Oldham, is yet to feature in a competitive match for the Gunners. He was part of last summer’s pre-season preparations and did play a couple of friendlies.
Given the competition ahead of him in the pecking order, a career at the Emirates might be out of his reach but it’s clear the club are keen to aid his development with a potential sale on the cards in the future.
Hibs-based outlets are reporting this as a huge blow to them. Seems to have been a successful loan spell there. Hope he builds his reputation in the Championship now like how Holding did.
I’d give him a chance rather than continue with Cedric.
I’d say that about almost anyone.
But they boo the sick!
Poor bastard. Nobody deserves to be loaned out to Mordor
I wonder how he will get there, because you can’t simply walk into mordor….
He gets picked up by one of the Nine Riders for safe passage but once there a terrible fate awaits. No one except for maybe Neymar, John Terry and most Spud players deserve to be sent there.
While there he is attacked by a Shawtroll called Ryan who severs one of his fingers and is henceforth know as Clarke the Nine.
Let’s just keep an eye on him.
