It has been confirmed that attacking midfielder Marcelo Flores will spend the 2022/23 season on loan with Real Oviedo.
Reports suggest the Spanish second-tier outfit, who are majority owned by Mexican company Grupo Pachuca, beat off competition from a host of clubs on the continent for the 18-year-old’s signature.

While Flores is yet to make his senior debut for Arsenal – the closest he’s come was a place on the bench for the 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace in April – he has already been capped three times by Mexico and is tipped to be part of their squad for this winter’s World Cup.
Flores joined Arsenal from Ipswich Town two years ago and has been a regular at under-18 and under-23 level. Hopefully, he settles in quickly at the Estadio Carlos Tartiere, he has a huge six months ahead.
57 minutes between closing in on the loan and confirmation. Flores is fast.
As long as he’s tied down to a long deal….
Great move, need to get more loan deals sorted for our talented youth. Flores is good.
Let’s hope he can Floresh there.
I’m sure he’ll wipe the Flores with the competition….
Let a hundred Flores bloom.
Those were all tenuous but I loved them, nonetheless.
Can’t beat a good pun, I say.
Good move. Would love him to get world cup minutes too.
huge potential and a hard worker- reminds me a lot of tomas rosicky in that maybe he takes one too many touches, but he’s got quite the shot on him as well
