Can we please make a move on the Partey-alternative? This is not a surprise anymore.

Zadok the Regular Dishwasher Salesman

I understand the frustration, but it’s worth bearing in mind Partey is, like, really good at playing that position and there honestly aren’t many replacements out there.

Which isn’t to say I don’t advocate replacing him, but then what do I know.

Funsho Patrick

It’s a good thing we have 5days left in the transfer window…even if it’s a loan…we should also decide on the winger. I saw PSV Eindhoven play rangers in the CL qualifiers…we won’t be fielding a weakened team across both legs with them…

Bukake Saka

Speaking of PSV, I think Ibrahima Sangaré would be a really good signing as a alternative for TP. I agree that we should get someone in as a alternative. Can’t rely on him staying fit for a whole season.

Funsho Patrick

I fear for loss of control in the midfield…the technical security of partey and zinchenko relative to Elneny and Tierney….I hope we still have two much for their pressing…COYG!!

chepetin

Injured? That came out of nowhere. Still strong enough squad to win.

Bleeding gums murphy

Thank god it’s not Ramsdale or Jesus. The drop in level would be way to much. Let’s get on front foot from the off

Walter White

Thought everyone except Nelson were ready?

Mad Mick Madison

Dear Football Gods
why do that??

Sherlock

exactly, also salah was the most captained player this week and that’s on them gods too! 🙄

Johnny 4 Hats

So no injuries 24 hours ago. Now two?

Is that Arteta playing mind games or are we just that injury prone?!

Ah well, should be enough to beat Fulham.

COYG!!!

Mikel is not obliged to reveal injuries to the press.

Clearly someone was missing hence Marquinhos not playing for the U21’s.

Zadok the Regular Dishwasher Salesman

Really want to see me some Marquinhos. Guy was too mysterious in pre-season. I want to know what happens when he drives at defenders, if he’s good.

Maybe but Tomiyasu, ESR, Nketiah, Vieira are probably first in line for a sub today.

Kinghenrythe14th

The injury curse…

It begins 😫😢

Cooked Patino

I hope not. Better early than late anyway

Kinghenrythe14th

Hope it’s just precautionary. In any case, we can still address any serious injuries in the transfer market.
Still we should be beating Fulham comfortably with this team

Mayor McCheese

Any word how bad these injuries are?

Mayor McCheese

Both cautionary. Fingers crossed.

Man Manny

Zinchenko is precautionary – had a little sprain on Friday.
Partey is a tight thigh. Hope they both return in a week.

John Jensen

I’m oddly looking forward to seeing Elneny start again.

Duno

In my opinion this is a good game as any for him to start.

Up4GrabsNow!

Couple of capable replacements there, no reason why we do not prevail at home. 3-1 to us. Jesus to keep performing miracles.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Don’t think Fulham will score. I’m going 3-0.

Chris

That aged well 🤣 kidding though, just glad of the three points!

C.B.

T P is a big loss, we have far better results with him on the pitch. Zinchenko a loss too but hopefully Kieron will step up. Hope we can win today and keep our points lead!

lovely_arse

Would love to see Marquiños get some minutes

ringoxiii

Should still have enough to win with the added depth, but wonder if the Partey absence is injury or something else

The hint that someone was injured was when Marquinhos didn’t play for the U21’s last night.

Looking forward to seeing if Tierney is instructed to replicate Zinchenko’s style.

Hopefully Partey and Zinchenko are back for Old Trafford though.

Not to sound cocky but Fulham at home is a banker.

Mayor McCheese

Leno to have the game of his life.

He’ll get a warm reception anyway. He always showed respect for the badge.

PeteyB

I’m a bit nervous of the same

Man Manny

Oh dear! Thank God the window is not closed. Two players out and we see gaping holes.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Tierney isn’t a gaping hole.

Man Manny

Elneny is a level or two below where we are right now.
Partey has no replacement yet, and that is gaping hole in that team.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Everyone is a level below Partey. You won’t find a like-for-like replacement to sit on the bench.

FMT

For the kind of attacking and fluid game we wanna play, Tierney is not Zinchenko

Mpls

He’s still shaking the rust out.

Gervinho is Driving

I wouldn’t say “gaping holes,” but it’ll be interesting to see if Tierney can, or should, play 90 minutes. And maybe Fulham at home isn’t the best measure, but without Partey we’d expect to see Xhaka playing deeper, Odegaard more isolated, and perhaps more of the initiative and creativity falling to the so-far undercooked Saka. Food for thought!

PeteyB

KT is not a hole. Elneny should be more than capable for this game. I do worry about losing Partey against stronger opposition. Its hard to forget the black clouds hanging round TP5.

Omsuley

Yo mama

DefaultGray

On a day when Man Utd win 1-0 Chelsea win with 10 men and City come back from two goals again, this is NOT what I wanted to see. COYG!!

Nainsley Aitland Miles

All we can do is win and stay top.

chepetin

Exactly. Just focus on what we are doing. It’s all in our hands.

FMT

No Partey, No Zinchenko? Limited mobility.
Lost my optimism for this game already😢!

Martin R

Both are precautionary as we have a surfeit of games coming up. Are you really saying no mobility with Tierney? You really are so negative.

Forget about it

Fudge. Doesn’t bode well for the upcoming fixture farce that is October. 🙁

Martinelli's bandage

A timely reminder that we need backup in midfield.

Boy Bastin

True. Time is running out in this window as we know and the closer the deadline gets, the more chance that there will be a problem that scuppers any deal.

Tielemens plays a full match for Leicester so I guess a transfer isn’t progressing at the moment.

Scribe

If we wanted Tielemens we’d have gone for him. He’s a Xhaka “upgrade” that we don’t really need. Viera and ESR can play there.

Partey is a very different player. Still, we’ll find out more on Monday probably and Elneny isn’t too bad.

It’s a different squad now anyway.

Doghouse

Let’s hope injuries are not going to keep them out of the team for long, good chance for Kieran to shine and show how good he is, as for Moh i expect a tidying up job that he’s so dependable in doing. Glad our 1st test with a different line up is against Fulham, we are to strong not to take all points today

Yellow Ribbon

I just don’t have a great feeling about this. Prove me wrong please.

You reckon Fulham will park the bus for a 0-0?

Yellow Ribbon

I will be happy if Mitrovic doesn’t run over Elneny..

Even if he does, he’ll be stopped by the brick walls that are Saliba and Gabriel.

Martin Harris

Now go get Tielmans!

Wetwillie

What is the deal with Partey? Guy cannot stay on the pitch.

Boy Bastin

I recall that he had a pretty poor injury record back in Spain. We do seem to have bad luck with particular players who are injury-prone. Anyway, not much can be done at present.

Martin R

He was hardly ever injured before he joined Arsenal. He had an excellent record.

Mad Mick Madison

I’m hoping Zinchenko isn’t as important to the team as I think he is.

Mag47

I just don’t understand. Under24 hrs two players gets injured. This is a curse

Fenko

I get what Fulhambis trying to do there. Leno has been on the bench since he joined Fulham but he starts against us today.
I wish him best of luck but not today against any if iyr boys.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

He started last week when they beat Brentford.

Tombo

Injuries disappointing but this is where we see if players can step in and maintain the team level. I guess worst case there is still time to get a partey backup. I feel like elneny has another level in him though.

davo

A few injuries and not a strong spine to the Team. Fulham are going to suprise us here. For goodness sake sign Tielmens..

Teez

Leno to have the game of his life now🤦‍♂️

David C

The injuries suck but some of the comments and attitudes here are ridiculous. Get behind the team and support the lads!

Elneny signature goal today. A 30 yard screamer! Let’s go!

Comatosis

Thomas is starting to be super annoying how a pro athlete on massive wages can’t stay healthy to strong more than a few games together is insane. Im beginning to question his work ethic and discipline.

TotsOfJack

Do like the Arsenal song thing?

Boy Bastin

We could have done without the injuries but we’ll see what the squad is made of. The earlier games involving the so-called “big teams” had a horribly familiar look so we can’t afford any slip ups today.

It would be great to replicate the kind of performance Liverpool had (puts our recent 3:0 win against Bournemouth a tad into the shade, doesn’t it) but I’ll take a win of any sort and the three points against Fulham and our “old boy”, Leno.

Fenko

What a performance by Leno. He was pumped up for us. But thank goodness we prevailed.
Odegaard, take a bow
4/4. I am in paradise now.
Thank you Gunners
