In most seasons there is usually a forward for Arsenal U18s who gets on the scoresheet with regularity, with the likes of Benik Afobe, Chuba Akpom and Eddie Nketiah among past examples.
The latest player to fall into that category appears to be Omari Benjamin, with the first-year scholar having already found the net on four occasions for the U18s this season.
Three of those goals came in a 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at London Colney yesterday, with Benjamin scoring a hat-trick in just 24 minutes.
A Welsh youth international with impressive technical ability, Benjamin is capable of playing up front, but he is perhaps best suited to being deployed on the left wing.
Given that he has only just stepped up to being a full-time member of the U18 squad, Benjamin has plenty of time to develop further, but the intelligence of his play offers a lot of encouragement for the future.
The 16-year-old will hope that he can hold down a regular place in the starting lineup for the U18s this season and potentially even get a call-up to the U21 squad as the campaign progresses.
So far, though, it has been a very promising start from the youngster.

Unbelievable 😁☝🏼
Clearly jack asking the team what they think of Tottenham in the pre game team talk worked it’s magic!

Very Nice!
Only sixteen but already has more hatricks than Kane has trophies.
I love a well recycled joke. That one … never gets old!
Oh good. Another Omari. Hope this one sticks with us and comes good.
It’s all about the Benjamin, baby
