Arsenal take on Brentford today in the Premier League.
Here are the official line-ups.
Brentford: Raya, Hickey, Ajer, Jansson, Mee, Henry, Janelt, Jensen, Dasilva, Mbuemo, Toney
Subs: Stakosha, Canos, Nissa, Zanka, Ghoddos, Onyeka, Damsgard, Baptiste, Roerslev
Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney, Partey, Xhaka, Vieira, Martinelli, Saka, Jesus
Subs: Turner, Tomiyasu, Holding, Sousa, Lokonga, Smith, Nwaneri, Marquinhos, Nketiah
Where’s Martin?
This is proof that Partey is the single most important one of our midfield personnel. His poise with the ball alone is very crucial to how we retain possession.
COYG
Mwaneri is 15 years old. It’s incredible. He’s on bench. I hear he is the real deal. If we are 3 up with ten to go, we may see history being made. Fingers crossed
Nwaneri, he turned 15 in March ffs. It’s incredible
Where does he play?
Attacking midfield / forward, but most Arsenal youth players appear to be ambidextrous.
Attacking midfielder
HOW DID YOU KNOW???
We heard it here first!👏🏼
Nice prediction!
It happened
Gunning for glory
COYG!!
What happened to Ode?
Calf injury
Calf injury.
He and Saliba missed training yesterday. Guess Saliba’s knock wasn’t too serious.
Great opportunity for Vieira to show what he can do with first-team attackers around him. I’m expecting big things from him. COYG!
Yeah looking forward to that too, my worry would be Brentford targeting him and kicking lumps out of him to faze him.
Starting eleven has to win this. Nothing on the bench.
Nwaneri 15 years old! We barely have a squad.
I wouldn’t say that Tomiyasu, Holding, Lokonga and Nketiah were nothing
His point was that Tomiyasu, Holding, Lokonga aren’t gonna get you a goal if you’re 1-0 down.
He’s right, the starting 11 will likely have to win this.
How about Nketiah?
I might add too that after his debut performance why write off Marquinhos?
No one has writ him off. Calm down
I think by saying “nothing on the bench” is writing him off, just as he did with the others.
Marquinhos is very young. Don’t take everything everyone says so literal. Chill
And so is Saka and he’s not a “nothing”.
It IS a very young bench. I’ll give you that. Four U23 players there.
Strong looking side, glad TP is back. We haven’t a good record against Brentford so hope we can do it today! COYG!
What a day for 15 year old Ethan Nwaneri and 17 year old Lino Sousa.
TP back is massive.
Maddening, what is going on with Arsenal’s physio team?! Year after year we cannot keep a full squad fit. CoYG, must-win game, hoping Vieira has an exciting one!
Remember the physios only repair the damaged players – it’s the training load and games where they get damaged. Players need the correct conditioning and recovery to avoid non impact injuries. Hopefully, they are just being over cautious. COYG
In many sports the recurrence of such injuries would prompt a long hard look at the training and playing surfaces and foot ware, as well as the medical team !!
It’s been like this for 15 years.
Le Rosicky list…
Sousa and Nwaneri? Wow!
Having Partey back is great, but in a few games, the bench has gone from a strong bench to looking not so strong
This game is gonna be tough. We need a really strong mental strength out there today!
Common guys!
I agree – a tough test after the Utd defeat. I’ve a feeling that it will be difficult to regain the top of the PL should we fall behind City in particular. Anyway, fingers crossed.
So, one in, two out; the injury carousel returns….
Xhaka is captain today.
Not great news on the injury front but there it is. We need a win, preferably a convincing one, and we could really do with Jesus getting a goal (or two).
I get injuries but such a very lightweight bench is always a worry. COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!
The amount of training geound injuries we get. Still feel a Win coming.
Saliba! Do do do do do do
Who’s the Smith guy on the bench? I’m assuming it’s not Smith-Rowe…
It’s Matt. Not his first time being named there. Hoteles we get a 3rd and see a new face. Always cool to see.
Hope*
Hoteles? Trivago.
Thomas Partey motm so far. Time to come off. Take no risks.
Vieira!…Oh My!
