Jordan Nobbs will start on the right hand side for Arsenal in tonight’s Champions League game against Juventus in place of the injured Beth Mead. It means a return for Vivianne Miedema as the most advanced midfielder with Frida Maanum dropping into the number 8 role.
It means the back five stays the same as it has been for recent games with Zinsberger playing behind Wienroither, Wubben-Moy, Catley and Katie McCabe. Lia Walti will be the deepest midfielder behind Maanum and Miedema.
Nobbs will, presumably, play on the right, with Caitlin Foord on the left and Stina Blackstenius upfront. Arsenal only have seven of their allotted 11 substitutes- two of whom are goalkeepers- given the extent of their injury list.
1.Zinsberger; 26.Wienroither, 3.Wubben-Moy, 7.Catley, 15.McCabe; 13.Walti,, 12.Maanum 11.Miedema; 8.Nobbs(c), 19.Foord; 25.Blackstenius
Subs: 5.Beattie, 16.Maritz, 18.Marckese, 23.Iwabuchi, 40.Williams, 59.Agyemang, 62.Reid.
Go Jordan and COYG!
Is it possible the midfield 3 doesn’t change with Blackstenius wide right & Miedema at centre forward ?
Dropping Maanun(our best attacker so far) is a step backwards, but we don’t have other options, like Tim said there is not Elite midfielders available in the market, we have to get under Elite-level instead, but we need 2.
but COYG,
Well done girls. A gritty display.
