There was a feeling of frustration amongst some Arsenal supporters when it was announced last summer that Salah-Eddine had joined Hull City on loan with an option for a permanent transfer.
As a result of his performances for Arsenal at U21 last season Salah-Eddine had established himself as one of the club’s standout youngsters and the prospect of losing him permanently was somewhat disappointing.
It was anticipated that if all went well with Salah-Eddine’s loan spell at Hull and he featured prominently then a permanent switch would follow.
However, matters certainly haven’t worked out as hoped for the midfielder, who is still awaiting his debut for Hull because of injury.
At one stage Salah-Eddine appeared to be closing in on a return to action, but he is now struggling with another injury and has temporarily returned to Arsenal’s London Colney training ground for treatment (as reported by the Hull Daily Mail).
The main focus for the 19-year-old right now is on getting fit and hopefully playing some part for Hull in the second half of the season.
However, Salah-Eddine’s injury struggles have cast doubt on whether Hull will end up signing him permanently, which could lead to him remaining at Arsenal next summer, at least for the short term.
Salah-Eddine’s long term future is rather unclear, but what is certain is that when fit he is a very exciting player to watch. The youngster is a fine passer and dribbler and isn’t afraid to go for goal himself. It is a real shame that he has been sidelined for so long, especially given that his first season at Arsenal – the 2020/21 campaign – was also heavily affected by injury.
Last season Salah-Eddine was on the bench for the Arsenal first-team on nine occasions without getting on. It isn’t impossible that he could still have a future at the club beyond this season.

So many stories of talented players who have been unfortunate with injuries.
Let’s hope his career is more similar to Jeff Reine Adelaide than Jay Emmanuel Thomas.
What was the reasoning behind the deal Jeorge? Was he simply deemed not good enough?
As someone with a passing interest in the youth teams, he was one of he names I thought was fairly regarded and expected to at least make a cup appearance. Did I just read that wrong?
Arsenal rate him highly but he wanted to leave as he felt that he could play senior football quicker elsewhere.

Seem to have lost two potential gems in him and Hutchinson. Though that one I really can’t understand at all- must be financially driven. Which is totally fair, just seems a shame.
