Ismail Oulad M’Hand called up to Morocco U20 squad

Arsenal youngster Ismail Oulad M’Hand has received his first callup to the Morocco U20 squad.

It represents another step forward in the development of the 18-year-old, who was born in the Netherlands. He will be involved in two friendlies against Burkina Faso U20s.

The younger brother of fellow Arsenal player Salah-Eddine, Oulad M’Hand joined the Gunners in 2021 having previously been at Feyenoord’s academy.

This season he gained plenty of experience for Arsenal at U18 level as he made 18 appearances in the league, during which he scored three goals and provided two assists.

In addition, Oulad M’Hand made two appearances during Arsenal’s run to the final of the FA Youth Cup.

A skilful player who is an impressive passer, Oulad M’Hand also possesses defensive qualities.

The youngster’s scholarship contract expires at the end of next month and it is anticipated that he will sign a professional deal this summer.

That would mean that Oulad M’Hand would be part of the U21 squad and he would also probably be involved in the UEFA Youth League campaign with the U19s.

Arsenal have a lot of midfielders in their academy but if some of the older players depart this summer then it could open up a space for the likes of Oulad M’Hand to get more opportunities.
