Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka have been selected by England for upcoming EURO 2024 qualifiers with Malta and North Macedonia but Ben White misses out.
The Three Lions travel to Malta on 16 June and then host North Macedonia at Old Trafford three days later. Once that’s done and dusted our keeper and winger can enjoy a well-earned rest.
Here we go.
Your #ThreeLions squad for June! 🏴

Earlier in the season, Saka joked about spending the whole summer sleeping. It’s little surprise, if he features against Wolves on Sunday, he’ll be the first Arsenal outfield player in over 30 years to play every league game two campaigns running.
Should he feature against Wolves, Bukayo Saka will become the first player to not miss a single game in back-to-back league campaigns for #Arsenal since David Seaman (1990-91 & 1991-92) and the first outfield player to do so for the club since Lee Dixon (1989-90 & 1990-91).

The Times reported that White might get a surprise recall from Gareth Southgate but it hasn’t materialised.
The right-back was named in the World Cup squad but returned home prematurely for personal reasons. Given he got hitched at the weekend, we suspect he’d rather go on his honeymoon anyway.

Meanwhile, Emile Smith Rowe has been called up to an England U21 training camp ahead of summer tournament later in the month. The final squad will be decided on June 14th.
Does anyone know what happened when Benjamin White left the England camp? Whatever it was seems to have kiboshed his chances with Southgate because it can’t be a footballing decision .
White told Southgate “Maguire?? Serioursly???” and Southgate couldn’t take it..
If you search about it online it immediately gives you clickbait stuff about a bust up, which doesn’t look like it ever came from anywhere reputable and goes against the messaging from the club, teammates etc at the the time. That said, it is weird a) nothing firm came out about it and b) strange even for Southgate that he’s continued not to get selected given his other centre back options and Reece James being injured. I personally wonder if it was as simple as he wasn’t really feeling himself out in Qatar, particularly given he wasn’t playing and didn’t… Read more »
Southgate is a cunt and, as a 100% dyed in the wool England fan, I can’t wait for the day when we finally get rid of the boring twat.
We’ve arguably got the best crop of English players that we’ve had since Euro 1996 and he has done fuck all with them.
Except bore for England.
Southgate led them to the No. 2 spot in the last Euro just like we finish second in the league. Great result just that icing missing on the cake is appreciated differently.
He is not ruthless enough. He is a nice guy and nice guys don’t win jack spu*s
He had a falling out with Steve Holland, one of Southgate’s assistants.
England seem to be well stocked at right-back anyway with TTA, Walker, Trippier.
That being said, White is a far better CB than Maguire and Mings.
As for White, Benny Blanco has clearly had a bust up with Southgate, no two ways about it.
Probably told him to his face what a boring zed he is.
Southgate is such a poor manager. Not for not including white just because he’s shot. He has already cost us our best chance of winning a major trophy. What he did against Italy was shockingly poor management. He played mason fucking mount on the left wing. We scored sfter 3 minutes and then never had a shot on target until the 98th minute. He will cost us again and then get sacked but I believe he has already lost us our best chance for many many years. Put simply he’s a cxxt 🤓
I forget where I read the other day that Southgate reached out to White recently to discuss his selection. I guess that conversation did not go well
my god….. they make them play till the end of June…. and our first friendly is on 29 July. That’s like 2 weeks of holidays of resting! and how do they rest? by playing football on the beach of course hahahha
Well they’ll have an extended holiday. But our first friendly is actually 19 July.
If Man City win the FA Cup, we’ll be playing them in the Community Shield, probably 5th August, so that would be the date to aim for to have our strongest possible team ready.
Wow, forgot about that. I love a bit of Charity Shield – Wembley, blazing hot sun, new kit.
Was going to cheer for Utd in the final, but fuck it.
Anyway, anything that pisses off Neville, Keane and Ferdinand is ok in my book.
Southgate seems much more willing than, for example, Deschamps to ignore what players have done for their clubs in recent months if they have a history of playing well for England. Kalvin Phillips has hardly played all season, Maguire not much more. Gallagher has shown nothing since he returned to Chelsea (to be fair, it’s hard to look good amid chaos), and Maddison very little.
I am interested in watching Bellingham. I was in the minority that thought that–despite his obvious extraordinary quality–he showed his youth in the Euros when it came to defensive awareness.
Won’t let you criticize Bellingham. I will even sell Saka to get Bellingham. It tells you.
I.d.i.o.t.
no need for that
There is.
Thank fuck you’re not in charge of the transfers.
Bellingham isn’t fit to tie Saka’s laces.
Got to admit that I didn’t pay attention to him from a defensive standpoint. I thought he was brilliant in general, but maybe I was just onboard the hype train.
The selections of Maguire and (especially) Phillips are strange. I know he likes to stick with players who’ve been part of the setup, but they have had so little playing time that I don’t see how they can be effective.
World Cup, not Euros.
I would say not being involved in the train wreck that is the England National Team is a blessing.
It’s like watching paint dry watching England. God knows what it’s like to be involved in it.
Would much rather watch Germany – loved that world cup semi against Brazil, in Brazil, a complete performance for sure!! Only blemish was letting them score a consolation goal and ozil should have scored an eighth goal!!!
Thats a bit harsh. A final and a semi final in the last 2 tournaments ain’t bad….
agreed that the handbrake is on too much. However I grew up in the 90’s and the national team then, was all fart no shit. At least this lot consistently get to the business end of tournaments.
Mate, the Euro ‘96 squad was easily the best England squad since 1966.
Malta and Macedonia hardly warrants using players like Saka. They could, to paraphrase Arseblog, send a wheelie bin, a traffic cone and a policeman’s helmet and still win.
Let Saka rest for fucks sake!
I think you’ll find that bin, cone and helmet are already in the squad.
See if you can work out which names they use.
I guess The Helmet is the one that never closes its mouth but in fairness scores a lot even if most of it comes from penalties won by diving.
Benjamin wasn’t happy in the England squad, like Roy Keane at a WC he up sticks, he hasn’t an England career under southgate, I’m not sure he wants one anyway, his lack of interest in football apart from playing it says a lot, at least he’s honest about it, when he was questioned about his call up to WC squad he wasn’t flattering about his answer, not the usual of how proud i am to represent the 3 lions and my country.. what do you think was his terse reply and walked off when questioned..
Southgate is rubbish and surprised the FA has stuck with him. Any run deep in a tournament over the last 6 or so years has been purely by luck of the draw. The moment they come up against half decent opponent they lose. With the amount of talent in that England squad they should be doing better and playing better football. Southgate’s a phony that would get a job in club football once he fucks off from the England post.
Imagine what Klopp or Guardiola do with that England squad.
Wouldn’t get a job**
