Chido Obi-Martin’s potential has been known about for some time and yesterday the striker showed just why he is so highly regarded at Arsenal.
The 15-year-old is still technically a schoolboy but he is making a case to be a regular in the side for Arsenal at U18 level.
Yesterday Ob-Martin hit a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over Southampton, with Jack Wilshere naming a very young side that also included 13-year-old Max Dowman featuring as a substitute.
Obi-Martin has often impressed for Denmark at youth level, while he has also played for England U16s.
The prospect is very tall and strong for his age and is capable of leading the line to excellent effect.
In addition to his goalscoring prowess – he has frequently found the net for Arsenal at U16 and U15 levels – Obi-Martin is also capable of linking up play very well.
Arsenal have already secured Obi-Martin’s short-term future as in February 2022 he signed an agreement for a scholarship contract which will come into effect at the start of next season.
It will be interesting to see how much game time Obi-Martin gets for the U18s this season and involvement with the U21s cannot be ruled out if he continues to progress well.

His name alone sounds strong.
Like someone from Starwars
The Force is strong, with this one…
…please accept my apologies.
U18’s win 4-0 which means the ‘sack the coaches’ lunatics can have a week off…
I’m going to be invested in his progression, for no reason other than he has my brother’s name, Chidozie.
