ESR?

Cranky Colin

Good question.

Misses out due to a knee issue.

Walter White

bad one?

Ebo

unknown, club has just announced “misses out on tonight’s squad due to knee issue”

D.J.

Ugh. Can’t catch a break. Get healthy ESR!

SLC Gooner

Yeah, just when it felt like he might get enough minutes to get back up to full speed. Hopefully just something minor.

Daveo

Partial tear to his ESR.

Not sure, he’s not answering his phone.

Sakatatties

Looking forward to Cedric running on to the pitch when we score for a celebration photo

Johnny 4 Hats

Your attack is in trouble,
Cedric’s on the bench.

Anon

Our defense if he was on the pitch

Man Manny

Two left legs in CB. Interesting.

Sakatatties

Two right legs too. Interesting.

Salima Salami Saliva Salvation

Left Testicle

That’s a lightweight midfield.

GoonerMac

Not necessarily lightweight but a new formation , let’s hope we get through the initial press, I worry about Jorghino at the base. But what the fuck do I know…COYG!!!!

Two Champions League winners in our midfield.

Teryima Adi

COYG!!!

Ebo

Would’ve preferred Elneny in the middle and Havertz up top instead of Eddie, who we need fresh for Newcastle. But this should do… COYG

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Elneny and Jorginho would be too conservative.

Ebo

hmm yeah, was hoping for Elneny, ESR and Vieira but I suppose that got taken away by ESR’s injury

Sam

No Smith Rowe? I know he played on Saturday but even so surely he needs more game time? He’s not even on the bench, is he injured?

Also no Tomiyasu? He didn’t start on Saturday so thought he might tonight. Does this mean he’s playing vs Newcastle? Or has he got a little niggle?

Nainsley Aitland Miles

Smith Rowe has a knee injury. Tomiyasu yeah I would now assume starts on Saturday.

My guess is we will need rice, martinelli, saka and odegarrd to win this. Let’s see, great chance to win this cup.

West Ham have gone stronger than I thought they would. And of course Mavropanos is going to have the best game of his career.

Ebo

Probably for Arteta playing against a backline of Mavropanos and Fabianski is like the ghosts of christmas past

Mark

Too bad about ESR, would have been a great opportunity for him to get some more game time in. Remember the years when we’d always see so many of the really young players in these matches (though of course we were usually playing lower division teams) and now we have a number of players that are full-time or at least part-time starters in the lineup. Glad to see Ramsdale back out there, hope he does well. Will be interesting to see if Arteta puts Rice in at all to let him play against his old club at their place, though… Read more »

Apologies for my ignorance of West Ham but is that a strong team put out by them or saving players like us?

Serpent

I think that’s a rotated team. Their bench is full of starters.

Nainsley Aitland Miles

They’re starting 7 out of their first choice 11.

They’ve ‘rested’ their keeper, Zouma, Ward-Prowse, and Antonio.

And brought in two ex-gunners of course, Fabianski and Mavropanos, and Soucek and Behrama.

Paul

Thank you.

He’s got no hair but we don’t care...

Yep, that’s right bring in our real No.1 cold. How about playing him the game before, couldn’t have been an easier game to bring him in for. I mean what the hell benefit was having Raya in the team? You could have been true to your rotation policy.
If he has an amazing game he’ll still get dropped. If he doesn’t, it gives the manager an extra reason to stop him. AR can’t win.
COYG!!! And massive good wishes to Ramsdale!

David Raya is our number 1.

He’s got no hair but we don’t care...

Maybe to the half blind Gooners on here who think the manager farts smell like roses he’s our No1. I can tell you the stadium crowd is not so blinkered.oh & I thought the manager said we don’t have a No1? Just 2 good players in every position?

Great Kalu

Tough game as the Hammers have gone with pretty much their EPL starting line up.

He’s got no hair but we don’t care...

And we’ve gone with Havertz.

He’s got no hair but we don’t care...

Havertz.
sigh…

Arshavins left foot

Where is Smith Rowe

Bleeding gums murphy

Nketia must be gutted we can’t play Sheffield United every week. We desperately need a forward in January if we are to win the league.

He’s got no hair but we don’t care...

Careful. Sensible comments like that will get you thumbed down. Besides, we’ve got Havertz……hahaha

He’s got no hair but we don’t care...

Zinchenko, Havertz and Jorginho off now.

Man Manny

Pedestrian. Unimaginative. Insipid. Our “Strength in depth” might be the greatest lie we’ve told ourselves this season. I hope the team can raise themselves for the huge game on Saturday. I am not optimistic, all of a sudden.
