Arsenal have confirmed that Bacary Sagna will be out for three months after fracturing his fibula in a nasty fall at White Hart Lane. The French international has undergone a preliminary assessment this evening but will be visited by specialists on Monday.
The club have refused to rule out the player going under the knife, stating: “It is expected that Bacary will be out for approximately three months and a surgical procedure cannot be ruled out at this stage.”
As things stand 19-year-old Carl Jenkinson is the club’s first choice right-back; an amazing state of affairs given he spent much of last year on loan with Eastbourne Borough and Welling United in the Conference South.

Arsenal are plagued by injuries because the players don’t know how to defend. They are always making last ditch tackles, falling over each other or overstretching. There is no composure and no organisation; it’s easy to get injured when you’re always playing on the edge.

Four losses in seven games means we are a poor team. We have to pray that our players come back quick from injury and the team plays better than they actually can. I’m pessimistic; the talent just isn’t there and we’re not a “grind it out kind of team”. Kroenke must pull a drunken sailor in January or next August or we are finished.

Dave ‘Gooner’ is a mug. They’ve put prices up and sold our best players. Use this money to off set the price for those of us who take massive financial risk paying for season tickets to watch our club. If they were the best team in the country then it might be more understandable.
Sagna is true class. He has been a tireless servant to the club since his arrival – steady, reliable, hard working, and no nonsense. He will most definitely be missed.
