Arsene Wenger has dismissed speculation linking Robin van Persie with Manchester City as pure unadulterated bollocks.
The Dutch international was linked with a move to the Etihad on Thursday morning as sections of the media decided for Roberto Mancini that he might need a new attacker after Carlos Tevez put the strike in striker.
That’s how football works you see, it only takes twelve hours for a manager (who can’t buy a new player for three months) to reveal to a source inside a club that he wants a new player and for that insider to ‘exclusively’ tell the newspaper. The ‘story’ then gets printed and the whole world goes mental.
Anyway, nipping the guff in the bud Wenger told press yesterday: “This is a story created to create a story. There is no truth to it. There is nothing to say really.
“Anybody who wants to sign one of our players can call me. Everybody has my phone number.
“I don’t know why we are even speaking about transfers. Robin is under contract until 2013.”

Wenger has made some mistakes, we all know that. But it’s incredible that no one listens when he speaks about the cheating in football from clubs like Man City, Chelsea and Madrid. This dirty money is going to kill football. There are no longer any rules because of money. I personally watch much less football than I used to beacuse it’s like watching a mafia shootouts. It’s no different.

No I think Eggert Magnusson, the Egg-lookin dickface that was the chariman of West Ham few years ago, is to blame for that. He signed a free-agent player who had been playing for a decent team for 30.000 pounds a week and paid him 80.000 pounds. That decent team was Arsenal and the player was Freddie Ljungberg. WOOH! that’s some ‘heavy metal there’ buddy, yes you are right about the little decline, but it happens to almost every club, there was a time when Barca couldn’t make the champion’s league spot in Spain but look at them now, the best club in the world in terms of successes on the pitch and not on the financial aspects whereas The Arsenal according to the club and also FIFA have a good financial status.
