Polite answer results in media storm

Things haven’t gone too well for Nicklas Bendtner on loan at Sunderland.

Generally speaking, he’s proved himself to be a bit of an eejit, getting arrested, smashing up cars, being banned for speeding, posting pictures of himself in the mirror and his use of Twitter confusing fans of both Arsenal and Sunderland who don’t quite know which team he’s talking about when he spews forth on the football world in which he lives (alone, as King).

And today he finds himself linked everywhere you look with a move to Russian football. He’s quoted as saying:

“There are a lot of very strong players going to Russia, players who previously wouldn’t have done so.

“They play great football there. I am fine for the moment and I will look at the options available to me when the time comes.

“You can never say never in football.”

Clearly Nicklas, like any player, would be tempted by the high quality football and not at all by the kind of five hundredy and sixty billion dollar salary that tempted Christopher Samba from Blackburn to Anzhi Mik … Milosko … Milakaka … that team Eto’o plays for.

However, it should be pointed out that Denmark play Russia in a friendly tonight and he was probably just being polite and diplomatic when asked a question about the Russian league. It was hardly a proclomation to the masses that he, Nicklas Bendtner, TGSTEL, was going to venture east in search of power and triumph, like a bacon loving Napoleon.

Meanwhile, a different Arsenal player who is thus far making the most of his loan spell is Ryo Miyaichi. The Japanese flyer has just been voted Bolton’s player of the month by Bolton fans.

He gained over 50% of the vote on Bolton’s official Facebook page, a quite remarkable feat when it appears most people on Facebook hate everything.

Well done to him and although he was called up the Japan squad for their (insignificant) 1-0 defeat to Uzbekistan in their World Cup qualifying game today, he failed to get a run out.

One Of bright points for us this season is the deadwood that have proved themselves far below the standard required while out on loan.

Bob

Would have been nice if they could have gone good (at least in Bendtner and Denilsons cases), so what we might be able to shift them on for a few quid and to cancel off their wages 🙁

Our other loans, development ones that is, like Ryo, Bartley, etc, seem to be working well though 🙂

wandarah

Yeah, confused about how this could possibly be considered a ‘good’ thing, unless smug satisfaction at being proved correct, is high up your list of shit.

getz

Smug satisfaction is quite satisfying, though.

JonnyTechno

That “may” be true but I believe we’re more likely to see another year of chamakh. As annoying as bendtner is he’s a far better striker than chamakh …. Unfortunateley 😛

Summit

Media sucks!!! And it’s true in every country we all come from.

Voldermort

Be carefully what ya wish for, as I can see the great one back at the grove in the summer, probably clear Sunderland won’t want him and given his poor form and his apparent lack of sense hard to see anyone else taking him either.
Not sure how long he has on his inflated contract.

Cygan's Right Foot

I’d like him to come back, have a slap off Arsene, a slap off Robin and to score 60-70 goals from midfield as the backroom team have a brainwave as to his best position….. but it won’t happen

indiano

I read somewhere today that his contract is up in the summer and I also read a few days ago that we are paying his full wage, all 52k, while he is on loan at Sunderland witch is very strange if we are not hoping that he shows that he really is the greatest ever footballer and then sell him on for some money.

Theoptimist

That makes me want to cunt him in the bracket even more. What a waste of space, and our 6% is paying for him still!

John boy

Ryo Miyaichi, you little gem…

Bendtners_ego

I’ve already divorced myself from Nicklas because CLEARLY my “greatness” exceeds his playing ability. 🙂

He needs to move on.

Bogie

mmmmmm bacon.

d7g7

It’s a shame.

AW was wrong to play him on the wing, NB52 was wrong thinking he was the best striker the world have ever seen. Shame because it didn’t worked for anybody, we’re stuck with Chamakh and he pretty much failed at Sunderland.

Anyway Russian football would be perfect for us, easy for their clubs to meets Bendtners’ wage desires, and for us to get a decent amount of cash.

Cygan's Right Foot

Strange thing was that he scored 10 goals from the wing. It just makes you think, how many could he have scored if he just realised he wasn’t going to be first choice ahead of Robin and put the effort in

billywhizz

i think that’s a bit unfair. any time i saw nic play he put in a decent shift, especially for a guy who is not the most mobile and was playing out of position. i still think he might come good somewhere if he gets a decent run as a target man. his record for denmark at international level is pretty good for a young striker… 17 goals in 45 games and quite a few crucial ones too.

JB

“..a quite remarkable feat when it appears most people on Facebook hate everything.” Heh.

Thorough

Keep Ryo in Bolton one more year, I’ll say. And ‘TGSTEL its obvious this football thing is going south, showbiz beckons Nick’.

Camilla

So long as they stay in the Premiership!
I really hope Ryo will help Owen Coyle’s team to survive, we could use their fantastic youth-developing capabilities 😛

damir

Maybe I’m selfish but I’d rather see Bolton relegated; Mostly because I want Arsenal to make less trips up north.

Comedian

I saw bolton fans interviews some weeks ago most of them were positive on Coyleeven when they were at the bottom of the table. I liked the way their fans came out and said we have our three best players out for so long(holden,Lee) so it would have been a struggle so i hope miyaichi helps them to stay in the league and we can have a club to send our future stars at loan to in the league itself which helps both sides.

Camilla

“Things haven’t gone too well for Nicklas Bendtner on loan at Sunderland.”

Talk about the understatement of the century…

Runcorn Gooner

Bendtner another case of an overpaid player who thinks he is better than
he really is.Failed to reward AW for his earlier patience.
Will probably chase a “fast buck” somewhere like Russia.
With the talent coming through at the moment we don’t need him anyway.
Might have been so different if he had scored late on in Barcelona

Wes Mantooth

“Might have been so different if he had scored late on in Barcelona”

Yeah, could you imagine?!?! His ego would have probably come on as an 89th minute substitute just so Nik could high five himself.

Kafata

@Wes

You mean, so he could give a high 5-2 himself?

Malaysian Gooner

Bendtner, the greatest player on the planet!

BillyBatts

He’s got nothing on Mick Bendtner

Theoptimist

Or Roman Bednar

Adam Scoggins

Hi contract is up in the summer, so he’s gone along with his 50k+ salary. Good riddance to arrogant rubbish.

TomC

Agreed and by the way you have a fucking awesome surname dude!

Kafata

I’ve heard they serve some very good coffee in Russia.

Camilla

Heh. No coffee-based puns around this article, though…

Phil

Has nobody else noticed that it says “DONG Energy” on his kit?

Cygan's Right Foot

The sensible answer is that they are a danish energy company, while the purile answer is “sustainable thrusting power…”

Trevor

How fitting for a bellend!

neutral

I live in Denmark, Danish Oil Natural Gas -DONG, funniest name for an energy company I ever heard. DONG energy, I’ve got some dong energy for ya baby…

I thought they were a chinese company at first…

ps Bendtner is a fool, prime example of how Arsenals wage structure is broken, should have sold him 2 years ago when he was worth something, how much money has been flushed on players like him?

TeeCee

Last time I heard them bandied about, they were touting a wind farm in the Thames Estuary.
Cue “Huge DONG erection in Thames” stories…..

Cygan's Right Foot

Does anyone else think that we’ll sell him, a club will play him upfront either on his own or with a technical striker and he’ll suddenly turn out to be world class? I know it’s a massive long shot (which he doesn’t have either) but with our luck at the moment…

Yankee Doodle Cheeseburger Munching C**t

We’ll have Podolski so don’t worry 😉

Dick Swiveller

Not world class but if he gets a shot at a half-decent team and he decides to put some effort in, he could do very well but the issue has never been a lack of ability imo.

heihaci

This is all a smoke screen. Barca are going to sign the Great Dane this summer for 40 million!

Nick

Don’t sugar coat it, Bareclona are gonna sign NB52 for 40 million per week in wages. He’s TGSTEL after all! Maybe we could trade the Great Dane straight up for Messi since he’ll be out of a job once Bendtner is in town.

heihaci

“I’ve only had one training session with Miyaichi, but he’s impressive.” – Kagawa

John

Shame about Nicky, if he was as dedicated and humble as someone like miyachi, I expect he could have been a great impact sub against ‘park the bus’ teams. Alas, his arrogance and bad discipline will see him go the way of other clowns like Bentley and, what’s his face, best buddy of Cashly.

Thierry van bergkamp

I AM THE GREATEST STRIKER THAT HAS EVER, & WILL LIVE.

That is all.

ps there’ll be quite a collection of cunts on the pitch for England tonight,. let’s see,.. Thers king cunt terry, his cunty team-mate fat frank, then there’s the captain cunt Parker, & they’re been managed by the mad cunt.

Sound like a record to me.

gunner14

Terry not playin, neither is frank or cashley. Parker is a nice bloke, he helped up vermaelen and took his red card with dignity

TeeCee

A nice bloke wouldn’t have attempted to turn TV’s ankle into a bag of bony fargments in the first place.

Camilla

Hey, wait a second… How much is he being paid? Around… 5-2 thousand, would you say? 🙂

chy-town

5-2 over the weekend maybe it’s a sign for better things to come for B52..

Nick Hemmings

I’m so over Bendtner. I stuck by him for longer than most but he is a world class knobhead unfortunately.

getz

Yup.

Naija Gunner

Haaaaaaaaaaa, poor old Nick Bendtner. He loves being arrogant and rude.

Nick

It’s the only thing he’s good at!

the only sam is nelson

he’s got the ability to be a 20+ a season striker but has he got the head for it? he’s still young. i would rather see him on the bench than chamakh or park, to be honest.

that, and if andy carroll is worth £35m then we must be able to flog him to king kenny for at least £35m. happy days

Cromulus

What a Dong.

On the positive side, Ryo is a fast little fucker. I saw Bolton’s last match and Chelsea did poo all over them, but Ryo showed some world class speed (then again, it’s hard to know if these days it actually takes world class speed to beat Ashley Cole).

Dejilinho

By the end of the season, we’d have sold… Bendtner, Vela, Arshavin, Denilson, Chamakh, … and depending on season ending position…

CAGooner

Be nice to be able to add Almunia to that list, but that’s asking a bit much.

Midz

Right, if Russian league play great football, why does he go there?

TeeCee

‘Cos we have an American owner.
The prospect of sending B52 to bomb in Russia is too tempting.

Merlin's Panini

Bahahaha!!! Dong energy!!! hahaha!

Merlin's Panini

The guy is sponsored by Dong energy yet he seems to have totally lost his mojo.

Maybe Wang water or Arse Gas might want to do a deal?

CAGooner

Maybe Bendtner can join Arshavin at Zenit. If, while in St. Petersburg, he continues his lawless ways, he could end up playing for the Gulag XI in Bumfuck, Siberia.
