Arsenal’s unbeaten run came to an end with a 2-1 defeat to QPR at Loftus Road this afternoon.
Laurent Koscielny returned at centre-half, while the manager surprisingly played Aaron Ramsey on the left hand side of the attack ahead of Gervinho or Oxlade-Chamberlain.
After a bright couple of early minutes, Arsenal found themselves in a real scrap. QPR fighting for everything in midfield and winning a lot of ball because of it. The Gunners, in contrast, looked a little bit sluggish.
There was a warning sign when Bobby Zamora headed over a free kick, unmarked, and when Tomas Rosicky was rather easily robbed in midfield Szczesny was forced into a routine save.
QPR took the lead in the 21st minute. A straight ball from the back was allowed to run all the way through our midfield, Thomas Vermaelen found himself the wrong side of Adel Taraabt who then held him off well and finished from just inside our area. 1-0. It was poor defending from the Belgian and while you wouldn’t say they deserved the goal, they worked hard to get it.
We looked shaky at the back at times, Mackie was allowed to run straight at goal but Gibbs got back to do just enough as he fired his shot across goal. Such was QPR’s hold on the game their fans began Oléing when they put a series of passes together in our half.
It was, as you’d imagine, a touch premature. When Rosicky fed van Persie on the edge of the QPR box, he touched it through to Walcott whose first shot rebounded back off the post and his first time follow up was beautifully controlled to make it 1-1.
After that Arsenal got back into the game more, kept the ball better and worked the ball for about 2 minutes before Rosicky’s shot which was a tame end to a fantastic move.
In the second half Arsenal started well and began to dominate possession, forcing the home side back into their own half for long periods. Just before the hour mark we should have been ahead when a Song pass dissected the QPR defence and Robin van Persie was clean through. It looked as if he took the chance a little early but you’d have still fancied him to score, instead Paddy Kenny made a fine save.
Not long afterwards QPR were ahead. There had been some confusion in the Arsenal area a few moments before, Szczesny failing to come for a ball that should have been his. Koscielny hacked clear for a throw and from the resulting possession Mackie found himself free in the box after Vermaelen slipped over. He squared it for Diakite who had been allowed amble into our box with nobody anywhere near him and he finished well to make it 2-1.
Gervinho came on for Ramsey, then with 10 minutes to go Chamakh and Oxlade-Chamberlain replaced Gibbs and Arteta, but Arsenal couldn’t produce anything to trouble Paddy Kenny. A free kick just outside the box was slammed into the wall by van Persie, while up the other end only a fantastic save from Szczesny denied the cheating scummer Barton a goal.
In the end QPR fought hard for their win but were aided and abetted by two bad mistakes by Thomas Vermaelen and a team selection by Arsene that was hard to understand. Ramsey will come in for criticism but he is being selected out of position when the manager has better options available to him.
Now we’ve got to pick ourselves up and get back to winning ways, pronto.
Fuck.
that just about sums it up beautifully
Fuck that cunt barton and his time wasting antics
ugh.we just have to take the hard way and beat man city now.and oh the cunt is coming to the emirates.lets kick some ass.
come on arsenal
Well…..Both our Captain and Vice Captain had a day to forget. Ramsay was a lost soul on the wing and Gibbs was bullied on the left. A very bad day at the office. Note to the players….. End this right now and plan the game to batter ManCity. Theo tried and Areta and Tomas could not find that killer pass between Qpr 5 midfield. We needed to play a quicker game. My team is the Arsenal and will always be…..End of.
no commitment, no desire and a terrible decision to play a 4-5-1 with ramsey as a midfielder, we left robin with no supply line and gibbs basically had to operate as a makeshift winger the whole game and left the back four, or three i should say very vulnerable, i really think we should have stuck with gervinho or aoc and gone with a 4-3-3 but then again with the lack of determination the players showed the scoreline probably would have stayed the same, ahh cant be dropping easy points now….but its okay now we just have to regroup and… Read more »
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ramsey, just start over next season with this guy. can’t play him in the middle, can’t play him on the wings
I think it has happened quite a few games now where we play without a left winger, or with a midfield player who only drifts inside instead of keeping the width. 1 game was definitely in Milan, where Arsenal was completely unbalanced, same today.
Another thing – when the pitch is as small as it was today TW14 is so useless. I’m predicting the same thing with him in Cunt on Trent. Also, Sagna had no room to run past him so we were so short of width on both sides…
grwat point about the size of the pitch .
I think you’l find we played like that for the 2nd milan game the tottenham game and the liverpool match and it worked pretty well but today I believe a few players had an off day maybe benayoun would have been a better choice today for his freshness. Bottom line we were second best physically today and there was no excuse for it, they played a solid game and our mistakes cost us.
ON TO MAN SHITTY.
the pitch really was smaller wasnt it, i though i was just imagining it or something but that does explain a lot as arsenal need a large space to expose holes in the defense and exploit TW14’s pace. No wonder every long or through ball played seem to make it to the other side of the pitch instantly and go to the goalkeeper. it was seriously annoying seeing that happen as i know our players are better than that but the pitch really did seem quite a bit smaller than ours didnt it
And the pitch was “poor”. Arsenal can’t function on anything less than a perfect surface. That is one of our biggest disadvantages.
If the home team lets the grass grow for three days Arsenal are toast.
Don’t agree there was no commitment or desire, just think we were about 5% off today, and made a couple of horrendous mistakes.
maybe, but the way we passed around the ball even after we were 2-1 down reminded me a lot of the the away game at sp*urs, not enough urgency which was surprising considering the way we played in our last few games, maybe some of the starting 11 need a break or something
Never been convinced by Ramsey. But what do I know?
Have to say I agree. We seemed to go back into that hesitant passing mode, rather than the more attacking passing mode we’ve seen when we suddenly had some fire in the belly for a few games. The fire went out again. That indecisive passing ‘style’ gives the opposition confidence and leads to us leaking silly goals as we get caught out going backwards.
ramsey was playing out of position unfortunately that would be wenger’s fault not ramsey’s I honestly thought we would see an actual winger come on at half time but nope
About 50% off and the balance of the team was wrong with no left winger and Ramsey in a position he can`t handle.
The Verminator was horrendous and he was “lucky” that QPR scored when he fell on his arse or he would have seen red but he was responsible for both their goals. I missed the BFG today.
I’ve to agree with you every time Ramsey start a game we either draw or lose it, I think he is better coming on as a sub. He didn’t start the previous seven games and you all know what happen there.
I think it was a mistake to ply Ramsey out left. I thought he would start with O-C and use Ramsey if he needed midfield support later in the game. TV had a poor game and was to blame for both of our goals. If that had been Per there would have been howls around the Arsenal community.
I did think we lacked urgency. They harassed us and we let them put us off our game.
5% makes all the difference in a top league like the EPL.
I didn’t see any of it in the second half. It was as if they have gone in a complaining mode – grass isn’t green, opposition are touching us, ref is mike dean etc. etc.
What exactly is the point of chamakh in the team if no one can cross or play a long ball in the dying minutes of the stoppage time.
Arsenal were building from back to front as if they were 3-0 up and still 60 mins to play for!! Were they not aware of the scoreline.
A result that was completely avoidable! Especially regarding the Citeh result.
We came into the 2nd half like we were leading 2-0. QPR then just had the desire to win this game much more than us which surprises me as we only have the league left.
2 TV mishaps, TW wasting loads of pre-chance moments. MA8 and AS17 were were good though, Ramsey with efforts but without impact.
Not only that, for the last 7 years we hold no fear for small teams, all of them look at the fixture and know if they have ago when playing us at home we fall apart.
In the last 7 years we lost more points to the bottom 10 than any other team in the top 4, while Manures never failed to get less than 50 points or more from the bottom 10. It is just tiring seeing this season after season with no solution in sight.
Can we ever learn?????
this ruined my birthday on Saturday 🙁 … with man shitty dropping points and if we had won we could have been legitimately thinking about catching up to them if we beat them coming Sunday …. I know it’s IFS and BUTS but losing to QPR at this stage is unacceptable … they were fighting for their survival but our survival is also CL and we were supposed to be fighting for that … RVP is picking a bad time to stop scoring … come on GUNNERS!! WAKE THE FUCK UP !! … no more interviews about mental strength and… Read more »
yes, wenger!! it’s fucking you! are you kidding me??!! why did u play ram-fucking-sey!!?? you are asking your player to be serious but you are not!
yes,,, after a 7 game win streak,,, how fickle are you? i thought it was weird to persist with ramsey out wide. but you seem to forget that we just beat two teams and conceded ZERO goals with this same team. TV5 had a shocker today, and the team looked unbalanced.. but theo didn’t cut in enough and song was overconfident with his passing too. robin looks to be slipping out of a bit of form, and he could have sewn it up for us at one point.so things change on a coin flip. the ref as per gave QPR… Read more »
what i saw was that ramsey screwed the middle park. he screwed rocisky and arteta’s area and positioning.
7 games means nothing if you lose 2-3 games streak. we’re fucked if sp*rs win and chelsea still capable of make into top 4. or champion league final if they draw bayern in semifinal.
Chelsea Can’t draw anyone in the semi they already got Barca waiting for them.
I think for the sake of fair play Arsene started Ramsey on the left.
One question…
If not happy with the Ox or Girv, wouldn’t Santos give us more attacking and defending wise on the left?????
@Bobsyouruncle. Because a manager wins 7 on the trot is not a reason why he should self-destruct and throw 3points away. We have lost 2games to city this year and nobody blamed Wenger because we played out our hearts. But when a coach goes out of his way to destroy a winning team in order to prove he knows best then lets rant. We played 6games while Ramsey was injured -5epl n 1UCL- and this team looked amazing. We didnt just win, we dominated. Wenger first tried Ramsey ahead of 2natural wingers against Everton, in an area where we had… Read more »
@ thorough: ”Why then do you think he was right to start Ramsey”
”..thought it was weird to persist with ramsey out wide”
can’t remember saying it was right to play him.. i seem to recall saying it was weird.. but there you go.
i am pointing out the many other reasons for our below par performance..
and not interested in getting involved in some 19th century witch hunt.
so please read CAREFULLY before you bother to reply.
thank you.
Ramsey should have been off by half time at the latest. All credit to QPR for
The fight they put up but all over the field we were poor today.Need to raise our game again for City next week
You can’t single out Ramsey ,it takes a team to f*ck up
i hope ‘by numbers’ article will come out with how many turnover ramsey had. you ll understand that one player who play like ramsey today, costs the game
was he responsible for both goals ? NO
Ramsey was no good today.
He has been awful for MOST of this season.
In this case it takes a manager to fuck up. He played Ramsey out of position and persist to put him in a role he`s not suited for. Ramsey will come good when drops back in the Arteta role.
Imagine if Ramsey didn’t play ,we’d still be lose .Because both goals were caused by THE VERMINATOR!!!
just go drink yourself to sleep mate ,it’s easier .Or find a distraction .Go watch a Movie or the 5-2 highlight. oh oh go wank yourself to sleep
he is responsible for giving the possession away too, too many time that well, two of them might lead to the goal. if it were other proper winger, we would have been score more, or even kept better possession.
Possesion wasn’t a problem we had like 62% possesion .Finishing was the problem.
Let’s just move on to the next game . Hope Wenger starts a proper Winger but that alone won’t guarantee a win .the whole team has to show up , and I Know we will .UP THE ARSE!!!!!
@Masterbates. Was Denilson responsible for all the goals we conceded while he was around?
I wasn’t an attack on Ramsey .The role he was playing was clearly not working
against QPR.The reaction to it came far too late
Get a grip of yourself man. Fuck me.
Christ knows why it’s ended up here. Friendly advice for Cygan’s Middle Foot. NOT an invitation.
True mate very true
I think people need to stop this shit .. like picking on Ramsey …. how many times have we done that ? castigating a player and then realizing he was good after all … Song, Djourou, Koscielny (to a certain extent), Gibbs, etc …. It wasn’t Ramsey’s fault and you can’t blame his effort .. he is young and being played out of position was the key why he was ineffective …. Give the players our support .. mud-slinging will only cause more trouble … I really hope he has the mental toughness to ignore jerks who keep pissing on… Read more »
this is fucking terrible! fuck man, just sell ramsey! 30 years old rocisky is better than him, speed, strength. ramsey was giving the ball away whole night, i dont even know why he kept moving to the middle and the right just to get the ball? he thought he was a playmaker? c’mon, rocisky was there, motherfucker ramsey!
again , you can’t say Ramsey was the sole reason for the poor performance . other player were sh*t too including Robin Van Perfect .let’s just move on
again, it only takes one player who is not commited to cost the whole team
Cygan is correct.
Im with Cygan. I understand Ramsey has “potential” and all that crap, but he just hasn’t been anywhere near goo enough this season. I would be ok with a loan to Bolton next year.
hi Frog!! long time no see
maybe you should leave off the personal attacks on players.
and get a grip on yourself mate.
Maybe ‘Freedom of speech’ should be ignored. especially when sombody says something the ‘majority’ don’t like.
haha, freedom of speech? or freedom of angry and foul abuse, venting at a player who has done nothing more to be played out of position. good luck with that one mate. keep on defending these angry brattish tirades till the cows come home, but don’t make it about ‘freedom of speech’. i can handle someone elses opinion.. i can alos handle one loss out of 8 tvm. some people can’t. and have to lower themselves to taking it out on the team they loved 1 minute before kick off. no harm in being angry sometimes.. god knows there have… Read more »
As I clicked dislike and like highlighted, I thought I would say that we played badly and lost. This comes after seven wins so cut the team some slack. Ramsey was out of sorts, but so was TV. In fact, you cannot put your hand on your heart and say anybody played well. It’s football!
QPR played well. They won.
@frog.
you agree with ”motherfucker ramsey” ?
well..
Let it go, man. Its clear that he’s not good enough, its not even his fault. He can’t do something he’s not capable of. And he didn’t ask the manager to be played wide left?! Sadly, Wenger puts the development of Ramsey over the performance of the team. Can we do anything about it?! No. He’s untouchable.
Poor display today, never really deserved anything, second best in the tackles and they seemed like they wanted it more.
It’s games like this when our lack of quality back up for rvp on the bench shows.
You can throw 6 forwards on but if they are the quality of the likes of chamakh it really isn’t going to make a difference.
Hopefully just one of those days, city next and just can’t afford another display like this. They have worked to hard the last few months to let it slip now.
Same old complacent Arsenal. No real sense of urgency, no creativity, too slow, no intelligent runs. As someone on my Twitter aptly put it, we played like a team who’s been guaranteed 3rd place/European football.
Complacency is the keyword here and we’ve seen this so many times before. Team selection was weird yes, but the blame for this complacent attitude ultimately rests on the manager’s shoulders.
*sigh*
Beaten by the better team.
Not going to blame wenger, he’s guided us through 7 straight wins and we have a home game next against City.
Im not going to put the blame on any players, cause we lost as a team, with the lack of drive and over-confidence.
But in saying that, Vermaelen had a horrible game, which is not like him at all.
I trust Wenger, RVP, Vermaelen, Arteta and Rosicky to lift the team, and bate the pure bollocks out of city.
COYG
Well put Hayden.
Being level headed and sensible having lost for the first time on the back of 7 straight wins is a quality many so called fans lack. And how can people question the team’s ‘mental strength’? We’ve just won 7 games in a row and won quite a few from losing situations. Just because you play poorly and don’t manage to win doesn’t mean you have no mental strength.
why wenger waited until 1-2 down then took ramsey off and then started nervous. ox should start instead of ramsey by mile! and zhervinyu as subtitute!
well, sorry but rvp is 3 games without a goal. tv5 made mistake that lead to 2 goals. wft!! we need consistency!
I agree completely!
We should sell RVP, and Vermaelen, get Wenger out and get a really excellent manager like Mark Hughes, or Harry Redknapp. (Maybe even Tony Pulis) Because lets be honest, Wenger is shit and has done nothing, which is evident from starting Ramsey on the wing.
And then we should buy Messi, Xavi, iniesta, Adebayor and Nasri.
NOW you’re talkin!! 😉
Yes! yes! I can’t wait for Tony Pubis to manage The Arsenal. Oh the exciting football and fantastic wins we’d get!!!
(Sarcasm of course)
typical sp*rs fan
Glad you’ve managed to find yourself a category to fit into nicely Cygan’s Middle Foot. Come on now everybody is frustrated but if what you’re looking for is game after game where we never lose, I invite you to have a look at this. It cheers me up every time and I’m sure you’ll be less agitated at the end of it…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrZXYEen64Q
yes, my name is for your mouth
What a well articulated response! There you go, I’ve thumbed up your comment so you can feel proud. And as far as Spurs fans go, they’re the ones who react badly, get excited easily and bring out DVDs and Tshirts on the basis of a few good results. They’re not level headed, totally unbalanced and extremely short sighted. Sorry for being calm… 🙂
mate, why not calm down a little, sit back, take a deep breath & wait a few minutes before you start your next rant…
annoying result really & you can’t say it wasn’t deserved, but no reason to get overboard..
Humiliating defeat. Especially bad considering we’re playing Man City next week on the back of this!
A defeat yes, but humiliating? There have been other games this season.
Wenger shows his tactical fucking genius again!
Ramsey is not, never has been and never will be a left winger, neither were arshavin or bendtner.
What is the problem with starting the ox there?
Also as soon as there is something to play for (third or second) this teams bottle goes. They just can’t handle any pressure.
Forget top four, aint gonna happen.
How the fuck can qpr want it more, unforgivable.
Get a grip mate.
I cannot for the life of me explain how Ramsey is starting ahead of Gerv/Ox in that position. Has Wenger gone completely mental? It doesn’t fucking work! And I really hope TV5 learns how to defend again, quickly. He is costing us way too many shit goals against. Ugh mental strength my ass
You can tell the trolls and moaners are going to be crawling out of the cracks looking for scapegoats and ways to dismiss the past and write off the present and future. I don’t think there’s too much cause for worry. It was a bad day at the office for almost the whole team.. Sometimes we don’t play well but manage to win and sometimes we play badly and lose. The Ramsey selection was baffling but it has worked to an extent in the last few games so I don’t think it’s down entirely to that. We were off the… Read more »
AR Ramsey only played on the left one game against Everton, not last few games. We defended almost the whole game. In away I feel sorry for Ramsey, not only he was played out of position, but also he is the most off form player at the moment. Why did he start him in an important game like that??? God knows what Arsene was thinking about when he picked him. Ramsey form played him out of the team about 3 months ago, but Arsene keep insisting on playing him and another off form player Girvinho over the ON FORM player… Read more »
Fair enough, like I said the Ramsey decision was baffling just another way of saying I don’t know what Wenger was thinking. But his mistakes did not contribute directly to the goals. He had a bad game, no doubt but the mistakes were made by TV5 (surprisingly) and that’s the reason why we lost. Ramsey is just an easy scapegoat. If Djourou had made the mistakes TV5 made today he would have been crucified. People pick easy targets. What we’re telling you is to put 1 game in an 8 game sequence in context.
agreed. good player is good player. hope that 7 years cycle doesn’t repeat again.
AR We all forgive TV because we know it is a bad day at the office and he has just won us 6 points (Everton and Newcastle). With Ramsey as I said I feel sorry for him more than slaughtering him. Yes, he was not directly responsible about the two goals, but he gave position away countless times, was all over the place and made crap players look good and have the courage to attack us. When player going through a rough time a good manger normally take them off playing for a while and ease them through, I blame… Read more »
AR I agree to a point but considering we still have to play man shitty at home the chavs at home and the stoke pikeys away, this was a game that was winable. Playing Ramsey on the left meant the team was unbalanced what was poor Gibbs meant to do he was the only wide outlet on the left and the further up field he went the bigger the gap in behind. We should of taken the game to QPR today but just sat back and waited for things to happen, he should of changed things at half time played… Read more »
Exactly Johnny D. I am not defending Ramsey’s selection. If we don’t fuck it up from here and finish 3rd it will be a fantastic turnaround from mid February and this result won’t be a factor. If after 3 or 4 weeks there are more performances and results like today, then fair enough I will relate to the anger and agitation. But for now that has hasn’t happened and let’s hope it won’t and we can forever look down on the Spuds and consign them to more Thursday nights or worse.
I hope Wenger stops playing with a midfielder out wide. I guess. It worked at Villa (although Ramsey wasn’t why we won) but the other two times we’ve tried it it has led to very embarrassing results. We have three quality widemen, there is no reason to bench two of them in favor of an out of form Ramsey.
@Ermias. It has never worked once, Ramsey on the wings. Against Villa it was Gervinho on the left, Ramsey came when the game was already won and lost. Amazing how a team that looked pathetic against AC Milan (with Ramsey in it), looked amazing 2weeks after against the same team (without Ramsey).
We didn’t play well today. No cutting edge, too many errors and fall-abouts. Finger pointing won’t help. They all know they didn’t do well today, even Arsene. The boys will get it back together as always. Off to finish off what’s turned out to be a not so good day.
On to the next. Bring it on, Shitty! COYG
ramsey is totally over his head atm i think its best wenger plays him IN HIS POSITION which isnt behind the striker and for sure isnt on the wings, when ramsey first came into the scene he was playing at the arteta role i dont know who told wenger he can play on the wings or behind the striker, what has ramsey done on the wings for the last 2 games that would make wenger think hel have a bigger impact then aoc or gervinho , we just dropped 3 points that were easier to win , this performance reminded… Read more »
ramsey is fucking lazy, no defensive skill, i saw him just standing there watching lose ball and hoping song who was futher than him was there to pick the ball up. i think in every premiere league team, there is a midfielder better than ramsey. i never understand why ramsey was chosen above gervinho/ox or even yossi
You repeat the same post few times. Ok, we got your post Ramsey is shit.
my another foot
as pissed as i am at the result, and at playing ramsey i still CANT wait to play city and crush even their most optimistic fan’s hopes of catching united
It’s become a bit of a well-known fact now, that 2 things happen: 1) Arsenal break down at the end of seasons, losing to teams that should never be in the same park as the Arsenal, and blow there position in the table (whether 1, 2, or 3); and 2) THIS season, teams have a formula to compete on a high level with Arsenal: park the bus and play the break-away while pressing every possession Arsenal has. When pressed this season, Arsenal have been prone to mistakes, physical and mental – teams now know this and have the formula for… Read more »
I agree. he (Ramsey) may have been a normal choice for this type of game, but he was on too long.
The Ox should have come on earlier.
how all these comments forget the 7 game run we were just on is beyond me..
before the game so many said we would destroy QPR 5-0 or the sort.
how can both these ideas exist at the same time.
wenger out/we fear no one/wenger out/we are marching to the top of the league/…wenger out.
it’s fucking tiring.
BUT not ALL the semi-negative comments have gone that way. My comment above you is semi-negative, but I cannot imagine the team ran by any manager other Wenger at the moment. Did Wenger choose piss-poor with Ramsey out wide (over Ox or Gherv)? Sure did, BUT – it was up to Ramsey to pick up his game and perform. after all, he IS playing for The Arsenal. I thought the players today epitomized the season in just this one match: Walcott (can’t play 1v1 w/o speed), Ramsey (did he take a shot, because he is a 90% bet to chuck… Read more »
i’m actually only directed at the ‘fully’ negative crap that i have read on these comments.. i have no bother about peoples opinions.. but i do see peopel reacting like thay have no memory of the last month.. it’s mind boggling.
If I wasn’t so pissed off with that result, I’d find it quite amusing how ridiculously fast the mood in our fanbase can change.
If we get 3 against citeh, I’m more than happy to accept this slip-up today…hm, maybe not more than happy, but I’d accept it…oh well you know what I mean.
no arsenal fan expects a loss, especially from a bunch of drag queens like joey barton. So on the back of a 7 game winning run where we clinched 3rd position, one wonders if the mentality round the camp is “ok its done now”. I guess this is the thinking of many of the fans you are referring to bob. Nothing wrong with wanting a win and hating a loss. I personally thought a few of our players were poor today, while QPR made it look like Milan v Arsenal first leg at times. The goal this season is to… Read more »
this is why we lost. the “mental strength” like yours, keep remembering the past “7 win streak”, does that mean anything if we lose the next game? no. that only cause the complacency
you astound me in you blind ignorance and persistance.
Go on to Google Translate, change the settings to “French to English” and type in Marouane Chamakh. Very strange what comes up…
how the f…..??? is the internet broken again? or is this a sign!
Can’t believe some of the comments on here, we lost a game, don’t get me wrong I would love to win every single game we play. But hey life is not like that. To take it out on one player or call Wenger tactically inept is a joke. Bet you weren’t saying that when we beat the scum and at the win against Millan.
Muppets!
too right mate.. over reaction is the dummy the modern fan spits out at every chance.
so many spoilt brats these days.
maybe you should only support your team if you win 8 in a row or the whole season.. well guess what.. that’s only happened to arsenal once in a life time.. and only one manager has done that in our life time.. the one that everyone seems to want out after every bad result.
makes my blood boil.
pathetic fare-weather twats
Again – it was WHO we lost to, and it happens season after season after season: losing to teams we have no business warding points to.
Teams lose, fact – but it sure does suck losing to bottom dwellers season after season.
Bob, I agree wholeheartedly.
Arsenal: capable of the best, and the worst. I can live with losing to a team that wants it more, my only problem is that you just never know which Arsenal team will show up. Capable of spanking Sp*rs, Milan, go 7 games unbeaten, and be shut down and beaten by a team facing relegation.
I just pray they show up against Man Shitty.
More like we never know the team that the coach puts forward. For the past 7games, whenever we’ve played with our normal 11 (inclusive of 2wingers), we’ve been unplayable, and the only time we have played with Ramsey against Everton (when we dont even have a dearth of wingers) we have won by the skin of our teeth. Arsene knows!
If there’s one thing I don’t understand, it’s people thinking they know better than Arsene Wenger. Yes he gets it wrong sometimes, yes he makes mistakes, but a fan who probably knows nothing about managing a team shouldn’t criticize without at least knowing what the man had in mind.
Unless you have as much experience as he does, stop talking as if you know better, because you DON’T.
We’re unplayable at home. Watch us clobber City.
Away, on long grass, or a lumpy pitch we have to defend. The much derided mark hughes caught us out too with the correct tactics.
Up The Arsenal!
9 league defeats this season for a club of arsenals stature. it is simply not good enough.
There was no stand out players today, I thought both Ramsey, vermaelen & van persie were poor.
What was up with some of our players constantly falling over??
QPR Will probably lose their next seven games!!
JOEY BARTON enhanced his status as a cunt even more today. the fucking cunt.
I think I agree with Bloggs .
Just look at the city game against sunderland I mean wtf 3-1 down ?
When I look at spurs fixtures they might in reality be more difficult than ours in the sense the lower teams might just fight harder.
At the end of the day its one loss and im not gonna castigate our own players when theres plenty of players on qpr team I could call cunts instead.
Bad performance & result today but I’d have taken our league position 8 weeks ago & we have a great chance of 3rd place…
& I reckon Arsene should get one of the pitches at London Colney turned into a cabbage patch or ploughed field,it seems like every time we play on a shit pitch we get beat!
Don’t think this loss can truly be understated. Absolute garbage. We absolutely had to win this, it was utterly vital, and we’ve gone and fucked it up. This was the easiest game we had in the run-in. I’m not going to sit here and say that’s our season over, nor am I going to berate Wenger particularly, he chose a strong team and the tactics seemed okay to me, although I’m somewhat baffled as to why he made no changes until 70 minutes gone. What I’m absolutely furious over is the commitment of the players, not one of them seemed… Read more »
RC………. and relax!
You really do need to take a chill pill fella yes we were poor, yes we lost and yes we should of been more up for it, but I think your reaction is way over the top.
Heh. I always get a little angry (“passionate”) about the Arsenal.
Probably slightly excessive. To be clear, really not saying that all is lost; just today’s performance was really poor. But then I think people know that already!
well knee jerk reaction springs to mind reading some of these comments. If this season has taught me anything its to expect arsenal to be a bit inconsistent. You cant expect a win streak until the end of the season, some “fans” should be happy we’re 3rd when it could be quite a different story.
We didnt turn up today, which is disappointing. But if it takes this result to wake them up for the last 7 to ensure we finish in top 4 i’ll take it. Either way i’ll be with them til the end.
I’m taking names. And when Ramseys bossing our midfield in a season or two im coming for you! My mate used to scream at the TV about how shit song was and ‘how the fuck does he get a game?’ guess whos name’s on the back of his shirt now. Give the boy time for Christ sake, it’s not his fault we lost today, and look at all the ‘shit’ players we’ve had who came good. I dont think he gets enough credit for how he’s come out from the leg break, compare him to Eduardo, a shadow of his… Read more »
It IS his fault. He just shouldn’t of been played is all.
“Give the boy time for Christ sake”
no, we don’t have time, but we do HAVE to have a top 4 finish
@Highberry. May my name be topmost. If Ramsey is bossing our midfield…then you can be sure we are already in Nationwide, or worse.
Remember this?:
“I see us fighting like mad on Saturday to win the game. That’s all I see, I don’t see further”.
Obviously the team are on a different wavelength to Arsene as I didn’t see any of them “fighting like mad” today.
We lose one game and all the trolls come back. Seems their heads been up their own arse the past few weeks to notice the successive wins.
Shit happens people, get a grip and move on. It’s after losing that a team needs maximum support, and not such hatred.
I haven’t seen the game yet but it sounds like we just had a bad day at the office. And it sounds like Vamealen has had a ‘mare. But our recent run has been brilliant so we can’t complain. If we beat City next Sunday then that should get us back on course.
It’s a shame that Wilshire has been injured this season: Ramsey is not yet ready for a regular starting place and has had too many dodgy games. And we miss that seecond striker: when we need a goal Chamakh is the last person to get one.
well, reality hurts, and gets thumb-down-ed
still good to see some fella who are still positive, but until we r in deep shit, you ll show your true color.
till next game
eh?
All of those who are slagging ramsey should get busy in masterbating because it seems u don’t have anything else to do.
And all those defending Ramsey should get busy swallowing the product of our masturbation?
Heh. Wasn’t Tim saying something about this in his column the other day? Two groups of people, the cynics and the cynic-haters?
I’m angry with the performance shown today, they just couldn’t be bothered. But there’s still time to get something from this season.
hope u guys don’t defend and love ramsey because of his look
if ramsey ever goes missing one day, we know where to look.
i think you might have a man-crush mate.
Sooner or later, playing ramsey ahead of aoc or gerv would backfire.but i sort of like the way he drifts infield to complement the midfield.i think wenger wants it that way.the way nasri played.unfortunately the young sure knows how to fluff his lines big time.
They weren’t really off to the races today, but that’s the way it goes. It’s unfortunate that winning goal was the result of Tommy V slipping, because up until that point, they were looking the better team in the 2nd half.
I hope this doesn’t complicate CL qualification matters.
Home games vs: Man City, Chelsea, Norwich, Wigan
Away games vs: Stoke, Wolves, West Brom
Have to win at least 5 of those, but I don’t see why they can’t.
Well because we are singling him out as the reason we lost dont necesarily mean we are blaming him, infact we dont blame him, we blame the coach who plays him. But dont be deceived he wasnt entirely the reason why we lost. Ramsey’s presence affects everybody all over the pitch, it fucks with our shape as a team. How? Be my guest! The reason why Rosicky had been so effective is because with 2 wingers and Van Persie, he has at least 2 options everytime he has the ball (Theo drifting out of games making him less of a… Read more »
while this is a fair point of view & I do agree with some points, you have to admit that song’s ‘shit lobs’ have paid off a few times this season, right? and I’d rather see the Verm bomb foward less often & concentrate on his defensive work because right now he is surely only our second best centre half…
@Kunzeboom. Those Song shitballs are usually a last resort. Check most of the games, they come in the 80+ minutes. Why? Because when Song sees Theo on one wing and Ox on the other wing he is rest assured that VP will get chances. But yesterday it was like he just totally lost confidence in Ramsey -and the other midfielder because of Ramsey- because when they eventually pass to him he gives it away. So he decided to keep gambling. Not sure I’ve seen him try 2 of those audacious lobs in 1match prior, yesterday I counted at least 6,… Read more »
oh and I don’t see how ramsey’s presence makes our defenders fall over their own feet…
we beat everton 1-0 .
with the same team.
we let in two goals from defensive errors.
we lost 2-1
must be ramsey’s dark shadow over the whole team!
come on. i didn’t like his selection today. but you go a little too far with this one.
it’s too easy to blame one guy all the time.
sometimes it doesn’t all come together.
What the fuck was this shit the only player giving more than 30% was J.S.Park
Don’t blame Ramsey he doesn’t picks himself
Wenger got this one badly wrong. Ramsey on the left. Oh-kaaaaaay. But it’s the players who deserve criticism not the boss. They were lethargic, and just generally poor all round. Hard to believe they had a week off.
Best get ready for Citeh. COYG!
Apparently QPR’s ‘4-year plan’ involved acting lessons
Our run was bound to end sometime. It’s just annoying that it was at the hands of a team that will return to the comforts of the nPower Championship League.
I agree somewhat with the Ramsey critics, its not his fault that he was played, nor his manner of play. As a ‘playmaking’ midfielder he’s going to tend to drift inside but that limited the space of RVP and Rosicky. Especially RVP, QPR’s right back was tucked in the whole game was virtually 3 players around RVP every time he touched the ball . In my opinion Wenger should have seen this sooner and brought on a winger at half time or just after. The warning signs of this were evident at Everton
Totally agree with this…….. if it’s not working change it!
I’ll blame Wenger and not Ramsey, he may be off form and playing rubbish but he was played out of position(left-wing).
Wenger has a way of making things go sour after a good run of winnings! In my opinion.
I would have played santos with a 442 with benayoon artata roscky song in the midfield with van and park in attack and then bring in wallcot and chamberlain …..but then that’s me
I think we underestimated QPR hence the performance i bet you it will be much better against city
it better be
ok. So i came here very late and everything has been said that needs to be said. Just wanted to let y’ll know that one of the 7billion number 1 gunners fanatics is still alive. Of course i’m my 4th six pack of lager. Its been something of a setback today. But this 7billlionth number 1 gunner still routs for the gunners to give na$ri and his citeh cunts at eastlands a good run for second. Say what you will.
Bad team performance let’s move on and beat the city scum next week
