Koscielny relishing Spanish challenge

Laurent Koscielny will make his Euro 2012 debut on Saturday evening when France take on defending champions Spain.

And the Arsenal man is looking forward to the task of shackling the Spanish, likely to include former teammate Cesc Fabregas.

“Many only dream of making their first game against the world champions,” he said. “This is an exciting game to play and I feel good. There will be no worries.

“I know Torres having played in England. We know the Spanish collective. At times, there is no one in the axis then in 2 or 3 passes, 3 or 4 players arrive. I think it is their collective work will put us in trouble.”

Koscielny will partner Valencia’s Adil Rami in the centre of the defence and is sure the two will work well together

“We played a game and a half together and it went well. We try to communicate a lot on the pitch. We know our respective qualities.”

France go into the game with yet more dressing room disruption at a major tournament. There are reports this morning of a bust-up between Newcastle’s Hatem Ben Arfa and coach Laurent Blanc, while nobody will be at all surprised to hear that Samir Nasri was allegedly involved in a ‘difference’ with Alou Diarra.

Koscielny is keen to play down problems, choosing instead to focus on football matters and the team’s good record before the defeat to Sweden.

“If things are said in the dressing room, it will stay in the dressing room. There are things to say, everyone knows it, but let’s not wipe everything out. We were undefeated for 20 games.”

Kos the Boss

Akilla

Remember that Rami was quite slow against Sweden. If anything the French should be more concerned about Rami’s performance and not Kos’.

LANS

Please Kos Break a Biscuit for me tonight

Devil

He would relish it, won’t he? After all he can keep almost any of them in their pocket. He did once and almost did second time at Nou camp. Would be interesting to see if Cesc plays. We all know he can keep Torress in his pocket but I’d love to see him keep Cesc in his pocket. I am really looking forward to see Cesc V/s Koz….

WankerCunt

He must have very deep pockets.

RVP's Right Foot

Kos took care of Barca (Spain + Messi) with Eboue on his right. Nuff said.

Terry

Defensively debuchy isn’t going to be the greatest help either..
Can’t wait to see the kos boss finally!

Squillaci

I remember my last cap for France. We lost 2-1 to South Africa 🙁

feygooner

Hands up who’s surprised?

Fatcunt

I’m sure you got the two goals squillaci.
You twat!.

Xav

Heh….nice. I get you.

larry kamvy

Kos is our best defender…..the next tony adams. He deserves that #6 jersey. Kos is indeed…BOSS.

Ib

This is off topic but i wana know if arsenal will still be playing a friendly in Abuja Nigeria. I will advice them to concel it because of bomb blast in the nothern part of Nigeria which Abuja is part of. Even the Nigerian national team couldn’t play their games at the Abuja national stadium

MAllen

Noted. We will ensure no one knows we are coming.

ben

Hoping to see M’Vila starting in front of Kos, wanna see how that partnership would work out. Giroud making a sub appearance would just complete my day.

Also, Cesc can finally make up for his departure by kicking Nasri in the nuts for us.

ramgooner

just before the french pack up i really wish kos and m’villa together make a four footed lunge on nasri in training to end the misery
chinless cunt.

Kos is a true old school player. Love him!

He had Barcelona in his pocket when we played them 2 seasons back. Expect more of the same from him against Spain. How on Earth he didn’t start ahead of Mexes in this tournament. Arguably France’s best CB at the moment and I am not being biased.

MAllen

Mexes over Kos? Reputations. Just think of how different the England team would be if Harry was the manager. He would read the back pages before he compiled the team sheet. As long as he had the media in his pocket, he would not be bothered that the team was unbalanced or shite.

SAgooner

dont be ridiculous. ‘arry cant read.

SickGunner

OP, but I hear Flamini’s out of contract, not renewed by AC Milan. Heh, that’ll show Nasri what happens if you become a greedy fucker and leave after 1 decent season…

Borneo Gooner

Bosscielny!!

RobSchneiderDerp

This should be a great game…because regardless of how many dives there are and how many players are maimed beyond recognition (fingers crossed)…either France or Spain will be knocked out by the end of it. =)

Can’t wait to hear what Nasri has to say
“It is good we got knocked out…I can focus on winning titles now…and trying to figure out where my dick is…it isn’t where it should be…there is some sort of flap there instead…?”

Dewey

Can see him making a mistake…..a Birmingham-esque mistake :O

DieWrekt

And I can see you with a twelve incher in your gob.

Bunburyist

Flamini released by AC Milan. No doubt we’ll soon be hearing of interest from City and Spurs!

ontheup

I see the departure of Flamini and Gilberto as two of the biggest mistakes of the past few years. Of course I’m not suggesting we should sign them now, but at the time they were the men to protect our defense.

Bunburyist

Agreed. That summer we lost Flamini, Gilberto, and L. Diarra all at once, and instead of buying a player of equal or greater talent/experience, Wenger settled on an untried 20-year old Denilson. That was so typical of our club’s “strategy” in those years (are we turning a corner now?), that Denilson became the symbol of everything that fans perceived was wrong with Arsenal. And so, despite none of this being his fault, we sacrificed Denilson to the flames of our frustration with the club generally. Of course, as you say, none of this means we should re-sign any of those… Read more »

Nic Bell

They offered him 28K that’s probably what we gave Amaury Bischoff.

Fatcunt

Flamini fucked off to milan after running down his contract on purpose. The troll promised he would stay but instead chose to play us like he did when we got him from marseille. So as far as this goes, he can fuck off to a lower league like say brazilian and get kicked in the face acouple of times when the endless riots come up time and again.

Innovstar

Seems that agent AVB is being installed….any last minute advice before he starts work on the cocks down the lane?

Merkin

Watch your back, AVB.

Goontang

batt18les

doesn’t Rami play right-handed CB? i think the Serbia game before Euro Kos played left-handed CB as well as against USA in his debut. it means tonight he’s full back is going to be Evra/Clichy

but it doesn’t matter to be honest because it’s The Boss we’re talking about. he doesn’t care about shit. he’s going to destroy Spain strike force. i love him to be fair. come on Boss!

[…] Phillipe Mexes, who was responsible for some poor defending against the Swedes. This can only bode good for our very own Laurent Koscielny. There has been lot of talk on the internet as well as the French public about the exclusion of […]
