Jack Wilshere, Emmanuel Frimpong and Bacary Sagna all played 90 minutes for an Arsenal XI as the trio continued their rehabilitation with a specially arranged friendly with Chelsea this afternoon.
Arsene Wenger’s mix-and-match side went down 2-0 despite fielding an experienced side which also included the likes of Andre Santos, Marouane Chamakh, Carl Jenkinson, Francis Coquelin and Andrey Arshavin.
A full report of the match is available on Arsenal.com, but from the sound of things the trio all survived the game unscathed with Jack Wilshere putting in an encouraging performance featuring the return of his trademark ‘burst’ of pace.
While it looks as though the clash with Norwich at the weekend will come too soon for the midfielder, it’s more than possible he could make an appearance against Reading in the Capital One Cup at the end of the month.
Sagna and Frimpong will also be pushing for first team minutes, but with their positions covered by in-form players at the moment Arsene Wenger has the option to cautiously re-introduce them into the fray.
In other injury news, Theo Walcott looks likely to be out of action for a couple of weeks with his rib problem, while updates are expected on Tomas Rosicky, Wojciech Szczesny, Lukasz Fabianski and Abou Diaby in the boss’ pre-game press conference in the next 48 hours.
I thought christmas was in december?
Santa Cazorla brings us early christmas every other midweek and weekend!.
I know its a friendly and it was purposely arranged to help Wilshere, Frimmers and Bac’s return from injury but I still hate losing to the scum!!
I hope we score five goals when we’re next at the bridge!
Nice selection issues will be …nice.
Fantastic news make my day.
It’s a bit embarrassing losing to a young Chelsea team with that many first teamers out. 🙁
Glad to hear Wilshere’s coming along nicely though!
Cant score without a striker…
Lol chamakh has probably given up….not just in football but in everything with his life.
Good stuff. Wilshere should be ready to roll when we visit Old Trafford
And then rested after that game as a precaution dont wanna see him in the england squad for november games.
Are you fucking kidding? There’s November internationals? I don’t think I can survive another 2012 interdull.
Arsene will be upping his medication as a solution to his team selection very very soon.
COYG
I’m hurt that we lost.
Even chelsea reserves are scum.
I really felt like breaking John ‘cunt’ Terry’s knee. The coach knew it and took him off at half-time. I’f have done it for you all guys!
Btw, I came out of the 90 mins unscathed!
Stay away from john terry, do not even attempt a tackle!, his overtly cuntishness might rub off on you.
this is a friendly no one especially player like jack, bac will be wery careful not to have another setback.am happy that it work out as plan,
Not much longer til we can look forward to a regular Bac, Jack and (Merte)sack masterclass at the Emirates!
Floped!
It’s been said a million times but a Arteta-Wilshere-Cazorla midfield is fucking mouthwatering.
Having Wilshere and Bac…er, back is key BUT I’m so glad our man Frimpong is fit again, as he has a date at mould Trafford with a certain little boy inside’s glass ankle!!
What? Lost 2-0… Wenger out and sell all them players, they’re shite!
Use the money to buy Neymar’s cousin…
I see that Chamakh’s form carries on into these fixtures as well.
We should have kept Afobe as back up and loaned Chamakh to bolton!!

Would love to see RVP get “Frimponged”, but lets face it there is no way Arsene will play him against wankchester, cause you know as well as i do he’d be making the long walk after only ten minutes for kicking that ginger twat ten feet up in the air and leaving him just a crumpled heap on the floor!!!!! Almost be worth playing 80 minutes with ten men (plus 15 minutes fergie time if utd need a goal) I fuckin hate man utd…
