Hey guys, if it’s not a burden to anyone, I’m not at all familiar with how the betting procedure works but I’d love to know so I can comprehend these stats. What does 8/15 and 11/2 and so on represent? Anyone kind enough to explain please, would really appreciate it. Thank you!
Pak – 11/2 means for every £2 you bet you get back £11 if you win. Another way of looking at it is to say the odds are 5.5 to 1 for Fulham to win, that is, not very likely. 8/15 is the other way round – for every £15 you bet you get £8 back plus your stake money ( so you would only get back £23 for a £15 stake if Arsenal win). From what I know, it means if you put 15 in, you would get 8 extra, so total 23 back.
For completeness and comparison, a £15 bet on Fulham winning would get you about £98 back compared to £23 back if you bet on Arsenal to win.
Golden rule of gambling though is that the bookies ALWAYS win!
