Bendtner claims he’s where he wants to be. Hints at move

Since moving to Juventus on loan Nicklas Bendtner has garnered a measly 111 minutes on the pitch. He is in essence a benchwarmer for the Serie A champions; a benchwarmer who complained about being a benchwarmer at Arsenal and moved to Italy to be a benchwarmer in the proximity of better pizza and pasta.

He’s a strange guy is Bendtner. He believes in his ability – no bad thing for a footballer – but his decision to move to Juventus, despite knowing he was way down their shopping list, suggests he’s a guy who either has delusions of grandeur or one who enjoys the glamour of being associated with a top European club even if it means he’s not playing regular football. Maybe it’s a lot of both.

Either way, it sounds as though all the getting fit to sit around is starting to take a toll on his sanity. At the weekend he was quoted by the Danish press saying he has no objection to moving to Spurs (perhaps he wants to head butt Adebayor?), while his constant babbling about ‘a project’ to match his ambition has Arseblog News envisioning a team of Nathan Barleys brainstorming in front of a whiteboard on his behalf.

Weirdly, for the first time in a while Bendtner has also hinted that he could return to Arsenal, a state of affairs he’s been quick to dismiss in the past. Speaking to Sky Sports, the 24-year-old refused to rule out a return to the Emirates some point in the future.

“It’s difficult. I feel a lot of things for Arsenal, most good things. I left, not on bad terms but not on great terms.

“At the moment, my future is here at Juventus. Beyond that, it can lie at Arsenal or elsewhere. It’s not 100% decided. But my focus is on Juventus.”

Reflecting on the manner in which his career has gone off the tracks (a bit like his Aston Martin did the road), he continued:

“My car crash changed a lot of things. It took a long time to get over that. Remember, I had 30 games at Sunderland. A lot of things happened for me to be there.

“Now I am where I want to be, at a Champions League club. It requires hard work and I know I need to get more games to achieve success.

“I’ve had to lose weight (laughs). That happens when you don’t train for a long time. But I am now perfect weight-wise. I am where I need to be to get regular games.”

Who knows, maybe Bendtner will prove his worth to the Bianconeri in the coming months – good on him if he does. However, if Arseblog News were a betting man (join Paddy Power today) we’d suggest the evidence hints at an impact which is likely to be far more Armand Traore than Liam Brady.

I wish this guy would stop talking and bore off!

THEREISBEARCUM

Do you not understand the concept of interviews?

Festa

ok, i wish people would stop interviewing him!

AGunner

When will he learn that actions speak louder than words. Flashes of brilliance overshadowed by unjustified arrogance, sums him up me thinks. Hope we manage to offload him asap.

TomJ

This guy will never learn, so much talent but he’s a fucking idiot. We started the season with one out and out striker rather than keeping him. He’s fucking deluded and must’ve really pissed Wenger off. Having said that I hope he bangs in a load of goals for Juve starting tomorrow night, and we get a pile of cash for him

Harish

The sad thing is, if he did that then the sheep fans of Arsenal would suddenly hate the management etc for wanting to let him go, much like the Walcott situation.

Regardless, inflate his worth and sell the guy!

Dial Square

Another one of those players who never fulfil their potential, and just move from club to club and then disappear, anyone remember that cock David Bentley?

Master Bates

who?

Dr. Silent

Was sadly reminded he existed…He’s currently benchwarming for lower-mid-table stragglers FC Rostov in the Russian Premier League.

I only know this because I half-follow RPL highlights.

Nick

Who thought it was necessary to interview the overweight/newly fit Bendtner? Did some journo wonder how Italian bench seats differ from English?
HIs talking points:
“Now I’m where I want to be, at a Champions League club” …. so what are Arsenal?

“It requires hard work and I know I need to get more games to achieve success”… So at Arsenal it doesn’t require hard work? or you just don’t feel like putting in the work at Arsenal?

TomJ

As the article says, he was interviewed by Sky. I imagine that was because he faces Chelski in the CL on Sky this week. Hence at a CL club, which Sunderland, the club he mentions in the sentence before are not. Read the fucking article properly

Henners

Hahahahaha……Bendtner.

Aaron

He’s the Danish Joey Barton, at least in terms of thinking he’s a much, much better footballer than he actually is.

5 - 2 to the Arsenal

He more liked a pissed up Brigitte Nielsen !!!

5 - 2 to the Arsenal

Also Nasri and RVP are cunts

TeeCee

Danish Joey Barton?
I must have missed the bit where he mused on the merits of Wittgenstein’s thinking while repeatedly punching some poor bastard in the head.

5 - 2 to the Arsenal

I am sick of this idiot and his big mouth how about Nick you shut the fuck up and start scoring goals.

Even better come back to the Arsenal and start scoring goals as I for 1 am sick of part funding your wages while you put Arsenal down.

Henners

You have a pretty face.

Martin Keown is my hero

He got a pretty little mouth. He gonna do some praying for me and he better pray good……..

Comedian

Bimbo.

Oyster

If Nicklas Bendtner can achieve one great thing in his time at the Arsenal, it will be getting you all to watch Nathan Barley, thanks to this article.

Peace and fucking. Believe.

The weird thing about Bendtner is that if he shut up and played for a ‘decent’ up and coming team – someone like, West Brom, or Everton, say – he’d quite happily play a lot of games and score a good amount each season, and people wouldn’t think he was rubbish, or a twat.

But he is. A twat, that is. And a little rubbish.

Good luck to him all the same. He’s still on the books so he’s not a massive cunt.

OzGooner

Everton really?? and get games before Mirallas (wish we had snatched him up), Jelavic, and Anichebe…. Dreaming mate. Having said that Bendtner has better goal:game stats than most strikers around, too bad he’s a massive twat! Could have provided reasonable cover for HFB.

Weedysd

hahaha i like the paddy power plug. I know its because theyre partnered with arseblog but it fits in with Bendtner aswell

TeeCee

The repeated plugging is a bit pants……

Harish

lol… your like/dislike ratio is 5-2.

Ah… fond memories… *disappears into a cloud*

Danish press, Politiken (non-tabloid!) runs a story in which Little Nicky says when asked whether he would move to Tottenham (my translation) : “History shows that great players have moved to the great clubs in London, so I won’t rule clubs out because of my background. It may not be the smartest move at first, but if the ambitions of the club matches mine, and everything else fits, I’d be interested. http://politiken.dk/sport/fodbold/ECE1817608/bendtner-er-klar-til-at-foretage-det-umulige-skifte/ The reason should be that he has friends and family in London. IMHO Giroud is not necessarily much better than Bendtner, but has way more class. What an… Read more »

Do you see Bendtner having the movement or even working half as hard? Come onnnnnn…..

In the tabloids in Denmark (The tabloid BT – http://www.sporten.dk/fodbold/bendtner-afviser-ikke-arsenal ) he is quoted saying that he won’t rule a move back to Arsenal out.
He cannot be such an a# that he has made both quotes.
Can’t see him there. Giroud and him are simply too similar…

Voldermort

More to the point is, bentner is Where we want him to be.
Away from arsenal.

Merlin's Panini

beat me to it. Well in.

Lapidarij

He had his chance against Barcelona but was unable to receive ball properly. If he managed to do it, maybe he will score and Arsenal will eliminate Barcelona. But, of course that didn’t happen cos Bendtner is no good for our club! That single moment defined Bendtner in my eyes. He is a looser.

Bendtner's Mum

Looser? Quick, tighten him up!

TomJ

Is anyone else sick to death of that ‘he had his chance against Barcelona? Whatever about Bendtner being a prick or whatever, he came on as a sub and fluffed a half- chance that was coming at him quickly. Arteta missed from 12 yards last week, Henry missed a great chance to put us 2 ahead in the CL final, Vieira missed a peno in the UEFA final, RVP missed from 3 yards to equalise against Milan last season. So he missed against Barcelona ” cos Bendtner is no good for our club’?? Thats fuckin bullshit. It was the 200… Read more »

A Yank

Yeah, but all of those other guys you mention had plenty of moments of brilliance (or some worthwhile variant thereof) at the club. Okay, maybe not Arteta… yet, but Bendtner was the guy who shanked six sitters in one match against Burnley. He constantly found ways to miss an open net over and over again. And when he had one chance (or one half chance or whatever) to atone for all of the fucking misses, one moment where he could have erased all of the disappointment, one shot to stick it up the backside of the Catalan pricks and the… Read more »

ETID

Anyone else think he looks like ian poulter?

thats where the similarities end, one is a passionate gooner that would give both his testicles to haul his team over the line and bring in silverware the is the the greatest striker in the world and it aint of a golf ball.

Midfield Corporal

He does, perhaps he should try his hand at golf, He may be better at it than football.

Eric Irish gunner

Is this same bendtner who said he’d never play for arsenal again

getz

Plenty of talent and the physical potential to be quite a player. Doesn’t seem to understand the need to constantly develop and work at the skill part of his game. His flashes of brilliance show what he could do, but his usually awful first touch that never got any better show that he doesn’t have the stomach to work at his craft.

TGSTEL

I Am… ^^

TomC

Same old Bendtner; same old shop window.

Nordin

In my opnion the main reason AW offload / t-loan Nick to somewhere else & get Giroud is not bcoz one is better than the other in terms of footballing skills (based on what Ive seen so far) but bcoz Giroud is a much better person in terms of personality, attitude, humilitu & overall impact to the team.

Naija Gunner

Is this guy still playing foosball?

Last time I saw him played was last season, Sunderland against Man city, and they bladdy lost the match after going ahead 2 – 0!

TheGreatDane

Hi Guys i’m happy to sit on the bench unitl Barca have the funds to sign me!

James

The most goals that crazy Dane ever scored in the league in one season is 11 goals, and he had 42 games to do that in. He has never scored more in one season I the league. And this is at a club like Arsenal who create more chances than anyone.

On what planet would he ever think that was good enough for a top club, any top club needs 18+ goals from their striker and the great one score 25+

James

Myna take he scored 11 in 42 at Birmingham the most he scored for us was 9 in the league in 31. Not good enough, I think even an Everton is beyond him, they need movement and work rate and goals and Jelavic is 10times the player of Bendtner he actually puts in a real shift with quality and a first touch

Arseblood

All mouth….no trousers. No goals.

Bee

for fucks sake how many years left on his bloody contract ….

please god make it end ….

manfredi

he is with arsenal until 2016…so we have plenty of time to see him come back and score a goal and leave on loan again

reckon Spurs will buy him, they love taking whatever we throw out in the bin, could be hillarious if they bought him

Bould's Hair Dresser

I don’t think he did badly for Arsenal. I would prefer him on our bench rather than Chamakh.

Abhi

Cunt off you mediocre shite..still haven’t forgiven you for missing that sitter against barca at the nue camp
