Wolves appear to have first dibs on a loan deal for Emmanuel Frimpong although manager Stale Solbakken has revealed that he’s reluctant to sign the midfielder until he has recovered full fitness.
The 20-year-old is slowly recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury sustained while at Molineux last January, but is still not ready for regular first team action having picked up another knock while playing for the Arsenal under-21s.
Speaking about the possibility of making a pre-Christmas move for Frimpong, Solbakken told the Wolves website he was more likely to wait until the New Year making use of other squad options in the meantime.
“The situation is he wants to come to us. But at the moment, he’s coming back from injury that he got when he was here last season.
“So he’s been out for eight months and he has another small injury now and he hasn’t played in Arsenal reserves’ last two or three games.
“I think he has to get back to his best because he’s only between 70 and 85 per cent fit which makes it hard for a midfielder such as David Davis, who is waiting for his chance.
“If we brought in Frimpong now and he isn’t 100 per cent, he’d be in the way of Davis and what does it say about him?”
“He can be a possibility for us in January when things might look differently. I’m sure Frimpong will be 100 per cent fit by then if he doesn’t get another injury.
“We’ve seen him in reserve games and in the Capital One Cup so we have control of the situation. But at the moment, I think our players here can do that job.
“I think Arsenal is the club for him now to get back to 100 per cent fitness. If he hasn’t joined another club in January then maybe he’s a player for us.”
Regaining his fitness should certainly be Frimpong’s priority. Naturally he’s desperate to get back playing regularly as soon as possible, but it’s imperative for his Arsenal career that he doesn’t have any major setbacks. Given Solbakken’s sensitivity on the subject it looks as though Wolves recognise exactly that, but it’s good that they’ve left the door open for him should he get up to speed soon.
In other news, Theo Walcott’s contract situation hasn’t changed at all. Every week the boss is asked about developments in his weekly press conference and this week has proved no different.
“We have discussions every day about his contract,” relayed the boss. “We try to get further along but nothing else has happened.”
Take from that what you will. It’s not looking overly positive though.
I feel like frimmers needs to frimpong someone in order to get back to his best!
article says hes yet to move but picture shows hes already gone lolage. FAIL. you fail at journalism.
Frimpong = Ass for days!
If you look close enough you can see from the time on Frimpong’s watch that the photo was taken in the future. Seriously.
and yet todays civilisation allows for cunt puncher’s vote to count just as much as everyone elses’s… survival of the thickest.
Not good enough anyway. Will never be an Arsenal regular. Meh.
I score when I want.anyone with a question?
RVP i’ve got a question, when did you realise you had no personality so to overcome that, you had to become such a cock?
Don’t feed the troll.
I think that picture was from the last time he signed for wolves…

FFS, they broke him. Now they are being picky because he is coming back from injury. Fuck ’em and loan him elsewhere.
Agreed. Fuck wolves anyway.
