Arsene Wenger has revealed that Lukasz Fabianski will miss the trip to Fulham on Saturday but is hopeful that the rest of his squad – bar the long-termers – will be fit.
Wojciech Szczesny made his return to the team against Everton and although Arsenal failed to score they also kept a clean sheet, with Wenger saying, “Szczesny dealt well with the situation.”
The manager has to decide whether the two ineffectual run-outs for Jack Wilshere will mean he’s brushed off the cobwebs or if he needs to make a change, perhaps recalling Tomas Rosicky or starting with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Nacho Monreal is likely to come back into the side in place of Kieran Gibbs with Thomas Vermaelen remaining on the bench after Per Mertesacker’s return on Tuesday night.

Fab not the biggest loss, another chance for Wojciech to prove himself. Still an able keeper even if his season has been slightly under par
This isn’t looking so good for Fabianski but at least now Szczesny can get a good run in the team and his dad can stop talking.
Thierry Henry deserves to be awarded the 40 years of PFA award. Please Vote for him.

Gerrard is ahead of him right now. Those who didn’t vote for him, please do that
i think our votes were split b/w bergkamp n henry
Would probobly be best if Rosicky started the game ahead of Wilshere, Jack hasn’t looked fit for the past 2 games.
The question is whether Rosicky is fit to start. I think that is part of the reason why he didn’t start in the Everton game. Certainly without him we have lacked a bit of speed of movement in the final third.
Even if Rosicky is not fit we don’t have to rely on a half-decent Jack. He should be given time to come back from his injury and find his form. I don’t see why the boss dropped Gervinho and both the Ox and Podolski should deserve a start. Move Santi to the middle and put one of them to the left (and another one on the right ahead of Walcott). If Vermaelen and Szczesny can get benched, why not the “Britcore”?
i keep saying this and end up with thumbs down :/
man up
Maybe you keep saying it like a john terry.
I really hope we dispatch Fulham properly, no slow built up play and letting them park the bus and get us on the counter. I want relentless waves of attacks that break them down and hopefully lots of goals, its really up to the attackers to make it happen, although depending on whos the no.10, it could be made easier or harder. If jack plays then he best have his passing boots on, the last 2 matches fair to say were quite poor, maybe a return of Rosicky or Santi in Am. Maybe even rest Giroud and play Podolski up… Read more »
def rosicky, due to the speed of passing the forward passing tendency and the press high up mentality that follows him like an aura 60min in sub for jack for both’s fitness
I’d be happy if there’s no repeat of last season – Us dominating them first half with only 1 goal to show and then they come back and beat us
Time to give podolski a run up front, I don’t think it’s a game we will lose but a draw is no good to us. The defence has been brilliant of late but its goals we need now.
I’m thinking for the sake of pushing form we should do a little shake up:
Szczesny
Sagna – Mert – Kos – Monreal
Arteta – Ramsey
Ox – Cazorla – Gervinho
Podolski
And bring in Rosicky for Arteta around the 60th, just to freak out the opposition.
If Rosicky is fully fit, i’d still leave the Ox on the bench and play Santi wide. Rosicky has a huge work rate, that’s something we will need from the start. The Ox has the ability to reignite a game and he can do a lot of damage with his speed dribblings when he comes on as a sub.
Excellent. I was concerned that we would have a bunch of small injuries after that Everton game.
Just start Rosicky! We can play Jack and Aaron behind him,Jack can do that role, he played behind Cesc did he not?
I know this is not really related to the article but I just wanted to comment on the Alex Song story – as far as I am concerned he left Arsenal thinking that he could find greener pastures in Barcelona and low and behold its turned out to be anything but greener and now he wants to come back (according to the media). I say NO NO NO to this – he made his bed and let him lie in it, he really was not that a great of a player to tell the truth – ooooh it makes me… Read more »
Actually, I think it was more a case of he built his bench and now he has to sit on it.
Hahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhaha! Alex benchwarmer Song!
I saw the match vs Chelsea and Fulham were good. They got some skillfull players who can distort the shape and gi past players. Hope they are knackered enough from that game. We need to bring our A game for this match
they are a more dangerous team than their league position suggests. some of their players on their day produce some quality skills in the final third they just cant always finish. but when they do they are a pretty tough team to play against especially at the cottage. if berba is in the mood we need to have koscielny up his arse pressuring him the whole time, having said that, the way our back 4 has been playing lately i think we can handle this team defensively but whoever starts in the front better have their shooting boots on against… Read more »
The commentators were putting them down but Fulham created at least 3 very good chances that might easily have gone in, so yes, we need to be sharp.
Yup, Fulham were very much in the game until the second goal from Chelsea. In fact, they created better chances but their finishing was not so good. All three goals from Chelsea were lucky/quality strikes. We need to exploit their RB weakness though, similar to what c**t Terry did with his headers.
Fulham are not good at the moment. but considering Martin Jol was a former Tottenham manager i would be cautious that he will be using a defensive game plan. Fulham also always are a side determined to beat Arsenal their striker is a former worshiper of a red devil. And they have former Arsenal players in Sendros and Sidwell all of whom love to hate us. In midfield they have Brian Ruiz who is a decent dribbler but i also would keep an eye on our challenges seeing that he is a former diving champion. Also in midfield is the… Read more »
We need BaleSp*rs FC and Man City to draw this weekend. That way, they both drop points and United can win their measly league title before they play at the Emirates.
Or they can come here and we beat them anyway! That would be just lovely.
No chance of Frimmy playing against us is there?
I hope Wenger had that clause in his loan contract. I also hope he has a clause in the loan deal where call call him back to play the last 10mins against ‘you know who’ and remind the skunk of how much we have have missed him.
Back to subject, what about pushing Gibbs in as left mid? Wenger mentioned it today as an option. We will really need TR7 on Saturday, the rest of the team can sort itself out around him.

Rosicky/santi to keep switching positions as the match progresses. Monreal to come in for a fatigued gibbs as the late sub on tuesday indicated. Podolski just should get a start, no questions about. Jack, wally and ox to come in when needed. 60th minute (only if needed!)

The introduction of the baking of processed cereals including the creation of flour provided a more reliable source of food. Egyptian sailors carried a flat, brittle loaf of millet bread called dhourra cake, while the Romans had a biscuit called buccellum.”
