Arsene Wenger has hailed match winner Tomas Rosicky whose two goals, and goal line clearance, were the key factors in Arsenal taking three points at West Brom today.
Speaking after the game, the boss said, “Fantastic. He’s an important player for us. Unfortunately he was injured for a long time but every year he gives us a little push at the end of the season. That is very important.
“I hope he finishes his career with us. He still has one year on his contract. I rate him very highly.”
The Gunners were forced into a rearguard action after the dismissal of Per Mertesacker. On the back foot, they completed just 17 passes in the final 26 minutes, but hung on to take the win.
Wenger had no complaints about the red card, but admitted Howard Webb’s performance left him with some questions, especially when Arsenal were prevented by the officials from bringing on Thomas Vermaelen.
“I don’t complain for the sending off. It was a professional foul. He was the last man. It was a penalty and a red card. There were many things that I did not understand today, many decisions.
“But we had to take that on the chin and win the game. We couldn’t bring him on. I don’t know why.”
In the end, it was a happy Wenger, as Arsenal now have 18 points from the last 21 available in the Premier League.
“It was a difficult game against a good West Brom side who were really up for it. They did fight until the last second and we have shown two aspects of our game today.
“One that was very in control and with technical quality, and one that is less known – fighting spirit, a resolute attitude and battling qualities that reflect well the spirit we have in our side. I’m very pleased because it was three big points for us today.
“I believe we will do it. We are conscious that it will demand 100 per cent commitment in every single game. It will be difficult and edgy until the end but the only thing I can say is that we are ready for a fight.”
Wenger’s voice sounded so bad. Wish him too a quick recovery.
rooosssikkkkyyy FUCK YEAH!!!
Here to save the motherfucking daaaay!!!!
I know he was injured for a time but why does he get so little playing time? I fucking love the guy!!!
Rosicky gave us the push we needed last year and he’s doing it again this year when he’s on form he,s a match winner great 3 points today there usually the games we throw away but we,R up for the fight come on the gunners you can fucking do it
What does Rosicky and Wigan Athletic have in common ?
And now a summer with no major tournaments!! Im so excited to see what we can do with a fit Rosicky from the seasons start!!! Touch wood
Skillful, reliable, loyal, hard working and on the road to being an Arsenal legend. Hope he continues to play like this and retire at the Arsenal.
All that talk of our qualities and no mention of mental stress. o_O
*oops strength
well the last 20 mn was mental stress 😀 for me anyway
Rosicky: “Excuse me mr. Ben Foster but that shot was heading into the net, may I have it back and have another go?
Ben foster: sure.
Rosicky: bang!! 2-0
I genuinely believe that Rosicky could have been one of the best players in the Prem if he hadn’t been injured. His game is so perfect; keep the ball when it needs keeping, charge towards goal when the space opens up, and then charge after it when you lose it. He really showed that today. As Rosicky’s second biggest fan (just after Marco Reus) I can’t help but feel slightly sad when he plays so well, because it makes me wonder what a difference he might have made if he hadn’t been injured, and what sort of player he would… Read more »
He reminds me somewhat of Juan Mata – goals, assists, creativity, drive. I wish he’d have stayed fit and given us that. Still, this is the second season in a row where he gives us a useful burst towards the end. He may be getting on, but unless we can replace him with a younger, at-least-as-good version (Gotze springs to mind), we need to keep him as long as he can do the business.
I like to save Tomas till the end of the season. This means that his fresh legs inject pace and creativity into the side when other teams are tiring. it also means that if he gets injured, he has the summer to shake it off.
I am considering that when his legs start to give way, he can be alternated with Arteta in the Pirlo role.
@Parisian Weetabix You may be the biggest Rosicky fan after Reus , Eisfeld and myself
And me.
Hope he’s offered another 2 years as if not, he may leave for Germany I fear. Wenger tends though to regard 30+ players as not worth it. Tomas is worth it.
And take nothing away from the long pass by Arteta though (1st goal). He hit it with such precision, with a little reverse spin to it aswell then ofcourse gervinho did good work too. Super goal.
Love him to bits, I really do.
Keep Rosicky as cam and have Wilshere/Ramsey rotate for the final spot in midfield. They could both learn much from little Mozart
I might get slated for this, but I hope Ramsey stays in that spot over Jack. Now I’m not getting on Jack or anything, I love him and he’s a massively good player, I just think that Ramsey is exactly what we need at the moment in the second holding spot – hard work, simple play, and always moving to receive the ball. Jack’s game is different, more exciting, driving at players and carving open defences with his runs, but in the CM spot, Rambo is more suited. Jack should play as CAM, when he can win his place back… Read more »
Gotta agree with you there, Jack’s play is totally suited for the CAM role but in CM he is not as defensively disciplined as Aaron is, nor is his positional awareness as sound, which is much more important in CM rather than CAM. Conversely Jack’s driving style of play really is suited for CAM, the role plays to his strengths. I also think it would be harsh on Rambo to take him out of the starting 11 the moment Jack is back when he’s been doing so well, notching up assists and keeping our midfield energized and moving. Him and… Read more »
Severely been a Ramsey critic but I agree to this. Ramsey pushing ahead at times has given this team a nice flow. He missed a sitter after getting into a great position and also set up Rosicky. I hope Jack doesn’t walk into the team.
This midfield 3 is working wonders with Rosicky. Earlier, it was Jack in place of Rosicky, but it didn’t have the same effect. Just goes out to show how Mozart can influence the game. Also Rosicky can easily drift wide letting Cazorla into the hole, something which Jack doesn’t.
Over to you to now Spurs, without the chimp haha… That is all!!
That signing just before the 2006 world cup. Tomas Fucking Rosicky!!!
And how about the awesome Rock n’ Roll/Metal celebration?
FUCKING MOZAAART FOR LIFE \m/
He should celebrate by doing a rockstar guitar thingy though ‘where one goes to his knees’. I’d like that, you would too!
He makes it so hard not to love him.
I feel actually very loyal and proud, Rosicky’s my favorite player and I’m proud I still believed in him even when others were terming him a crock, deadwood, to be sold, etc etc.
Super Tom Rosicky!
He’s 33 going on 25!
He can play till he’s 38, that’s 5 more years of Mozart & I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.
Up Up Up Tom & Jerry,
Not Much Praise To A Team That Is Full Of Focus,Determination,Consistency Or Confidence.
Just Hope We Are Injury Free During Training.
GOOD JOB 2 MY FUCKING GOONERS
A great result today. Rosicky so important to the squad. Hope his fitness remains. So much to offer. Team showing some balls now.. Hope it continues. 3rd still possible .. COYG
i just hope that the boss will not change a winning side,he got a habit of changing the starting x1,and thats Not good.’good luck for the remaining games and just let pips the spuds to 4 th place,AGAIN
He has to make a change for next match.
It will be Kosc and Verm in defence then…makes me slightly nervous.
Those two never worked too well together.
Flappyhandski has become Steadyhandski, love it!
I wish rosicky was 25. what a player. Hopefully he can go on and play till he is 37. When we signed him from dortmund he was terrorising their midfield, wenger instead kept him on the wide left. Cesc was deputising the midfield anyway. Great player rocky!
Rosickyyyy i knew he was due to pull us through the end of this season!! Even made him captain of my fantasy team last week. I fucking love this guy. The only game ive ever been too at the emirates he was mesmerising to watch the way he has that short burst of pace to get away from people. So much class.
How shit were Match of the Days highlights? They missed out so much!
Tomas obviously man of the match, but mad props to Arteta, Rambo, Gervinho for their performances and yes even Per for committing a professional foul when he had to.
The team held on for dear life for the win when we went down to 10 men, and every single player threw themselves into our defense. Wenger also loaded the field with defenders, something I’ve never seen him do. Good stuff. I am totally in love with this team right now.

The defending of Per Mertesacker was absolutely brilliant, using his back to cover the ball when he lost his balance and fell over……. and yes Thomas is awesome. I remember reading an interview wherein Fabregas had said that Rosicky was the best player he had played with. Come on You Gooners…….. Up the Arses.
Rosicky 7!!!! You beauty!!! Massive 3 points!!! Spuds and Chavski must be pooing themselves.
Is it because I am a Gooner or do most referees dislike Arsenal to the point they start behaving like cunts. For e.g. Phil Dowd in the 4-4 vs. New Castle, then this Bald ManU fan that was referring the WBA game.
[…] 这也从另一个角度说明当队友不在状态时,阵容里其他球员是如何互补的。三弟和吉鲁昨晚感觉都不太兴奋,但让人高兴的是罗西基将担子挑了起来。赛后,温格谈到了他: […]
[…] It’s also another illustration of how the squad is working to compensate when others don’t quite click. Santi and Giroud were somewhat off the boil yesterday, but Rosicky was there to take up the slack and it was great to see. Afterwards,Arsene said of him: […]
