Youngster Hector Bellerin says the Spanish contingent at Arsenal is a big help to him as a young professional.
The former Barcelona lad, who signed a new contract last week, told Marca of his pride at being in the same set-up as the likes of Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta and Nacho Monreal.
“We are a ‘Spanish Armada'”, he said. “It’s a pleasure to be with them, they are people who always help you and treat you as one of them when you train with them.
“It’s a matter of pride that guys of this level are at the same club as me. I really enjoy being with them.”
The right back has been tipped for a loan move after signing his second professional deal at the club, and said the new contract was a show of faith in him by the club.
“I’m very happy with the new contract and at Arsenal. It’s a pleasure to be able to sign and stay here for more years, it’s a real boost to know they have such confidence in me. I can’t wait to get back to training.”
Bellerin will represent Spain in the U19s European Championships in Lithuania later this month before returning to Arsenal where a decision will be made on his upcoming season.
His first name is badass btw
I do like this guy and I hope he reaches his full potential and plays his best years of football at Arsenal. The pessimist inside me keeps on thinking he and others may decide to return home, but I hope not!
hope to see him loaned to 1 of the new prem clubs this season, dont care who pay most ages if any, playing time and fitness management is priority
Loan him out to Cardiff City for a season. They are going to need all the help they can get 🙂
A loan move might not necessarily be the best option at this point in his career. It wouldn’t make any sense loaning out to a club where he could end up being second choice. It would serve him and us better if he stuck around till January at the very least.
And stay as third choice and play in the reserves? If Sagna doesn’t go then the starting berth is between Carl and Bacary, with the other on the bench/Carling Cup.
A loan deal to a smaller PL team (for experience in this league) or a good (for their league) team in Germany, Holland, France, etc… would be best (like Miyaichi and Feyenoord). He’s at an age where experience and regular playing time are what’s needed to really push on. Also, like Wilshere, a stint at a club that hasn’t got Arsenal’s luxuries might just serve him well
… And what happened to the Spanish Armada exactly?… It got its ass kicked!
/me sighs

I like the armada, now let’s buy a few more Germans so we can have a blitzkrieg attack!
Armkrieg? Blitzarda? Both sound like a prescription only cream for…err…rashes….
The only captain I want for this Armada is Cesc4.
