Santi Cazorla has lauded the acquisition of Mesut Ozil and believes the German midfielder will enjoy life at Arsenal.
Despite being sidelined (he’s hoping to return for the Napoli game) the diminutive Spaniard says he’s already learning from his new teammate and thinks it won’t take long for the ex-Real Madrid man to get to grips with Arsene Wenger’s football philosophy.
“Mesut is a great player,” Cazorla told Sphera Sports (translation by Inside Spanish Football).
“He’s a different player who wins games. It’s nice to be with him every day because every time you learn something new.
“We are extremely fortunate to have him on our team. He’ll gradually adapt to what the team requires, where perhaps the change will be a little difficult, but since he arrived he’s looked very comfortable and he will continue to get better every day.
“I think he is the player Arsenal needs and I think [being a leader] is what he need, perhaps this is what he had been lacking at Real Madrid. The more important you feel, the better you play and here at Arsenal he is going to give everything.
“He will be the prototypical player in every way and that comes in handy. I’m sure he is going to really enjoy this club.”
The Spaniard also had warm words to say about young British duo Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere who’ve been holding the midfield fort during the Gunners injury ‘crisis’.
“Jack and Aaron are spectacular players,” he continued.
“They are young, have incredible futures and their start to the season, especially Aaron, has been very, very good. They’ve scored many goals and added much to the team. Hopefully they’ll maintain their level because the more they do so the better the competition for places and that’s good for the team. With Mikel [Arteta] recovering and Flamini signing the coach has lots of options.”
It’ll be like Christmas, hopefully not until actual Christmas. When these 2 grace the pitch at the same time.
This is actually what I’m most looking forward to with this team, Cazorla and Ozil playing together. I think the football this season will be absolutely breathtaking.

go go CazÖrzil !!!
COZILA
We shall cum someday.
we shall cum someday.
Purrrrrrrrrrrrrr….
Absolutely fucking love Santi Cazorla.
Always speaks so highly of everything and everyone to do with Arsenal. Always has a smile on his face and is an absolute joy to watch. Brilliant guy.
I actually like Cazorla more than I do Ozil. everyone has to have a favorite don’t they?. Although the way Ozil caresses the ball as he glides down the LW is starting to get to me…..lol
Strange, that ‘boss has many options’ line. On a side note, when Santi and Özil develop a Pires-Henry/Bergkamp style level of understanding, the Barclays PL will suddenly look a lot easier.
Why would anyone thumb down dmcl’s comment? Strange.
A Spurs troll
Actually, it is possible to hit the wrong button while on a mobile device. Has happened to me a couple of times!
oops
Yes,the combination of ME,Santi and Mesut will be the best attacking force in Europe.
Greatest attacking force that ever lived, surely?
I can’t wait to see the double edged sword(SantOzil)combination.
Make it triple edged you fool
I am still here
I know this has been said many times, but I just can’t wait to see the day when Tomas, Santi and Özil play together. I used to be stoked to watch Cesc, Tomas and (sadly, enough) the cunt Nasri because the technical ability on display was delicious. But THIS TRIO? God, it’s like a veritable smorgasbord of talent, technique and flair. Santi’s twinkle toes, Rosicky’s give and go and Özil’s brilliance is going to make for, imaginably the best, most flowing football we’ve seen since the Bergkamp, Henry, Pires, Ljungberg axis. Ahh, champagne football is back at its rightful home… Read more »
Hmm, but our previous gaffer didn’t agree.
Can’t when and see cazorla back and rosicky play with ozil
Did he really use the word “prototypical”??
It’s been translated from Spanish.
Cazorla and Özil will be a devastating combo.
When Ozil, Cazorla and Rosicky are on the same pitch the effect for the opposition will be similar to that of the Large Hadron Collider!
he’s working to be back by the time we play napoli. hopefully he’ll be able to pick up where he left off
You keep saying ozil cazorla and tomas but just to add a little wilshere and ramsey as well, I really think this team could go places not to mention gnabry ryo and zelalem, sanogo looks like he could be incredible if you look at him on an international level from 16 which does always say alot but he looks like a real player, im really looking forward to this team over the next few years, wenger has built a team to rival the invinsibles but of course with a lot more time before we get there but it puts are… Read more »
Sorry which doesnt always say alot about a player, refering to sanogo
Critics seem very eager to dismiss our chances, which is kind of fair enough given the extent to which we’ve fallen short in recent seasons, but you cannot deny a run of 8 consecutive wins, 10 on the trot away from home, as reflecting some seriously cohesive talent. I’ve not been this optimistic about an Arsenal team in years. If we can maintain this momemtum til January, strengthen an increasingly strong looking squad, and hopefully give more ‘top 6’ team a bloody eye in the process then we deserve consideration as title contenders. At this stage I would only add… Read more »
11 on the trot!
Wanted to comment about how that pic makes it look that Per just saw Gibbs’ penis at a urinal or some shit, but I don’t want to seem toooo gay.
Anyway, how hot is Giroud, right?!
