Despite some monumental cretins on the telly last night (no names, but it rhymes with Bamie Paraggher), saying Arsenal should not even bother trying with the second leg, Bayern Munich’s players are well aware the tie is not over yet.
With a more daunting scoreline last season, Arsenal gave the German’s a real fright, and it’s a lesson not forgotten by some of the Munich players.
“We won 3-1 here last year and then it was much closer in the return leg,” said goalscorer Toni Kroos. “So we have been warned. That’s why there are two matches: nothing is decided after the first one.”
Kroos was backed up by Brazilian defender Dante who knows they’re inferno easy ride when the Gunners come to town.
Referring to the opening stages of the game, he said, “Arsenal were very, very strong. Last year we learned that we always have to be awake and focused, so this year we have to concentrate again so that doesn’t happen again.”
While Mario Götze, who did his best to pull the Arsenal defence apart last night, said, “We have an important return match – we will have to concentrate hard in order to get through to the next stage. We can just be happy that we won 2-0 away. Arsenal played very, very well, and I think the most important thing is that we remain completely focused.”
So, who do you trust? Bayern’s players, or Bamie Parragher. Exactly.
Gotze did pull as apart. Far apart. It was terrifying to see
Kind of like a goatse (google it at your own peril)
Pretty sure that was the point.
Not sure I trust Bamie Parragher
“Bamie Parragher”, I laughed out loud! And “Dante … inferno easy ride” (see what blogs did there?): laughed out loud again! So brainy and literary, unlike Bamie. Makes me wonder how many references I’m missing.
I love reading the rants im articles since we lost. We lost 0-2 to the best team on the planet with 10 men and apparently its wengers fault for not buying a striker. Its his fault hes so tactically naive he cant make ten men beat the best team on the planet. Its özils fault robben was allowed to stroll past monreal. Some people need to chill and take some perspective.
I took some perspective once.
It was weird and scary.
Perspective… not even once.
Gotze didnt penetrate once. That I can remember. Side to side stretching the play. By god it was horrible to watch. Imagine being palace or west ham fan watching that every week. It was a match but like watching a training exercise. Anywho on to sunderland. Hope Giroud is fresh and wanting to make up for all this weeks shit
Also, where on the Bench will Lewandowski sit next season?
start instead of Mandzukic…
“inferno easy ride”… i doff my hat to you sir, most agreeable!
“Inferno”.
*Tips hat*
Anyone else burst out laughing at the photo?
My minds on Sunderland. I tend to let go of losses quite quickly nowadays. Onwards and upwards.
Let’s not kid ourselves.. for the 3rd year running, the tie is over in the first leg. Let’s look at where the team is continuously going wrong in the big games, each year, rather that act like idiots, calling people cunts and blaming everything/everbody else. That’s what Chelsea fans do.
The tie wasn’t over after the first leg last season, that’s how we came back to draw 3-3 only to go out on away goals.
We have less away goals to get to draw level this time and we’re better (hence why is was 2-0 and not 3-1) than last season
Not at a 3-1 gunners go thru on away goals.
I can sort of see where he is coming from, because we could save ourselves for the other 2 competitions, but the thing is, we earned the right to be in Europes biggest competition and to play against the best team is an opportunity that no player would and should turn down. Redkrapp also spoke bollocks when he said we put out our strongest team last year, forgetting that Szczesny, Vermalaen and Wilshere were left out by AW. Thing is, it would be better to go to the home of the Champions League holders and get beat than playing teams… Read more »
Bamie Paraggher – Bravo sir. Bravo.
Now that we’ve all calmed down. I’m as sad as anyone about last night, but just think at the end of the season we could look at (potentially) being out of the champions league being the defining reason that allowed us to focus on winning the league!
And a cheeky FA Cup win whilst were there.
Faith my fellow Gooners!
It was a crazy coment from jamie. Didnt he win in a final when they were 3-0 from first half?
Its football anything is possible.
Surely he’s still got his panties in a bunch over their FA Cup defeat to us last weekend. Resulting in them no longer being in the FA Cup. The FA Cup which we are in and his team of cunts are not.
Summary: We are still in the FA Cup
Liverpool are no longer in the FA Cup
Liverpool are cunts
All of the above aggrieve the cunt that is Jamie Carragher
*The More You Know*
Dr Baptiste, like I said earlier, let’s not kid ourselves. We won 2-0 to go out on away goals but, everybody saw that Bayern didn’t play with the same intensity. Probably because they knew we wouldn’t beat them by 3 goals, even if they held back. They won’t make that same mistake again
Not to be harsh but is this your first year of watching football? Anything can happen and frequently does.
We go as a team with no pressure and nothing to lose, just like last season. The first 30 minutes, until Gibbs went off, showed everyone that this team, when playing like they can, are a match for anyone.
We also have a very good record of winning in Germany.
Just warning people. Don’t make the same mistake as I did. Don’t Google goatse.
Thankfully, Wikipedia came up first so I could just read all about it.
Sweet baby Jesus!
I think Robben came out of there.
They didn’t take the first game for granted either. Would have been nice if we would have scored the penalty. Shame that we got the red card.
Bayern were not happy with the draw against us. I had the feeling that we were 2 steps better than them before the red.
We have a chance in the awaygame… maybe one day we have luck and a player from another team gets a red too… maybe… too big wish???
Hope we just have a right go at them in the second leg. Get an early goal again and you just never know.
I think Sanogo should play up top until Giroud settles his private affairs.
I could not undertand why pretty much every single stat for Giroud is down this season compared to last. But if we consider he got personal issues that probably have been going on for a while, then it would make sense since it is sure to be affecting his game. He has spiraled downwards alot since last season performance wise, and resent events helps to explain why.
Seriously, when is Rambo back?!
Never have we needed him more.
It’s a mad world right enough. Only 12 months ago many fans could care less about him. Just shows, as a footballer, you are only as good as your latest performance.
Repairing the situation is definitely possible.
Its going to have to be one hell of an effort from every single player that’s involved.. but in football anything can happen.
We’d just have to go and try to get the early goal .. and try and build on it and stay in the game as long as possible.
I think we could pull it off if everything went right for us…
Got nothing to lose
Well, if we score 2 goals, we force penalties I believe. Ozil had better improve on technique by then.
Well he should, but I’d still go with another for now. There will be 10 (hopefully) other gunners on the field at that time. Fool me twice..
But when his composure is back, can’t wait to see him burying them with style.
Can’t help thinking Ozil didn’t come off as a precaution by Wenger in case some morons boo’d him. He seems likely to get the hump, and rightly so. He’s probably never been boo’d by his own fans before the Utd result.
Realistically, we are competitive on the domestic front but I feel the squad is a tad light for the CL considering the opposition we have drawn. We could well do with a bit more magic up top, a striker who can operate close to independently with pace. I believe that was in the back of Wenger’s mind as well considering the type of players he was after last summer for the position (Higuain, Suarez). Dropping Sanogo into the deep end (as commendable as his performances were) was simply not the plan but likely Wenger could not find a striker with… Read more »
Oh, the people too young to remember Goatse. We’re getting old, blogs, we’re getting old.
Why was the scoreline more daunting last year?
This year only need two to force extra time. Last year needed three goals because of the away goals rule. But still need difference of three to win, or 2-0 and take it in PKs, so it’s a small difference.
We can always rely on the lot up the road to supply some perspective. The gloom has been replaced by relief that we haven’t just lost 1-0 to FC Dnipro. I can’t ever remember Arsenal playing a team I had to google to see what country they came from
In my opinion, playing with big slow target men strikers is not doing Ozil any favours. He wants movement infront of him, people to make runs, and a strikers with intelligent attack positioning. Ozil biggest strenght is his key passes, but impossible to provide Giroud with those since he usually just stand with his back to goal holding up the ball and slowing the attack down. He never attempts to make any runs, or Even try to get away from his marker. It is difficult for Ozil to work with that, and he is reliant on his fellow midfielders to… Read more »
