I’m not suprised he’s not even on the bench after the bashing his own fans gave him after the Munich game. A sad state of affrirs that once again we have to protect players from out own fans.

He needs a physical rest as much as a mental one.
He’s already played more games this season that he has in each of the last 2 seasons at RM.
And he wasn’t with us for the ‘pre-season’ either (RM pre-season is much lower level).
The boss isn’t stupid. He will have rested Ozil with a full and reasoned explanation and probably with the players blessing.
