Aaron Ramsey says there’s much more to come from him in the years ahead after the Gunners secured the Welshman to a new long-term contract.
The former Cardiff man was having an outstanding campaign until injury robbed us of him back in December, and although he’s working hard for full fitness, he’s yet to make his comeback.
However, he says that he’s still hopeful of making a decisive contribution before the end of this campaign, and in the ones to come.
“I feel like there’s plenty more to come,” he said. “This season I’ve proven a lot of people wrong.
“There was a tough time in the period after my injury but I’ve got through that and I feel really confident and feel like I’m improving with every game.
“Hopefully now I can get back out onto that pitch as quickly as possible and show what I’m capable of doing and hopefully finish off the season in some style as well.”
Asked what he needs to do to improve even further, he said, “I think I need to go into the big games and to really show my authority on those games. Grab the game by the scruff of the neck and show everybody you can do it in the big games on a consistent basis.
“I think that will be the next step.”
And let’s hope that’s one we see him before the end of this season.
Hasn’t bagged 100 starts yet. His best better be to come. And how much are we paying him?
Didn’t he have some minor injury that kept him out for a long time and would’ve prevented him starting a lot of games?
No? My mistake, carry on.
It wasn’t funny the first time, it’s not funny now. Go away.
You are the same idiot I spoke to earlier.
What is your fascination with 100 starts?? The guys a class act. If you cant see how important he has been to Arsenal this season especially then you’re a drooling moron..
Is this guy for real?
I know this is an unpopular viewpoint, but I’m a little wary to get too high on Aaron. I’ve always liked him and I thought he was never as poor as some commentators made him out to be, but I’m a little concerned he’s not quite the savior many are hoping him to be this season either. Great player, potential to be world class, but I want him to keep it up for an extended period.
That said, I’m thrilled to know he won’t be going anywhere.
I personally think that we’re still about to find out just how brilliant a player he actually is. I do agree with you on the fact that the key for any young player is how long they can their form up. Lets be honest though, many of us were grinning at how expensive he looked early on in the season…
I felt like Ramsey switched on and theres no turning back now. if how he’s been playing is temporary then i dont think he could have held it up for this long. If i remember correctly Ramsey bossed it in the 2nd halff last season, the season ended, we had a break and picked up where he left off again this season. Recovering from the leg injury may have taken 8-10 months-ish but mentally it takes alot longer and that explained his below per performances. now he’s over it and mentally strong, you can see the confidence in him with… Read more »
He did it for nearly all of 2013. I’d call that an extended period of time.
What the hell is wrong with you
I can see Greek’s point, I hope Ramsey’s best is still to come too. Before his injury he seemed to be hitting his straps and combined with his brilliant run of form earlier this season I think he deserves his contract. But yes, he is yet to regularly, as he says, grab games by the scruff of the neck. Now he is being played in his proper position, I hope, and believe he can continue to improve.
When’s he back?
If what he say is true – the League should be scared. Very scared indeed.
I remember times when Odds if Ramsey scoring were 400/1 now with every match its “Ramseys gonna fucking score”/10
What a lad he will be for us!
Glad to have tied him down to a long-term deal. He’s only 23, he has years upon years of football ahead of him, and he’ll be playing them in an Arsenal shirt. Sweet.
looking forward to your return. the team has terribly missed him.
Don’t you want somebody to love
Greek: what’s with the obsession with 100 starts?
GreekTragedy – Don’t watch much football do you?
I absolutely love Rambo’s new attitude and confidence. Eagerly awaiting his return.
Unlucky with the injuries this year, but he carried us at the beginning of the season. Hopefully, a RAMBO inspired title push is to come!
See you on the pitch.
Spectacular Strike from Aaron Ramsey-
Fabulous Volley from Ramsey-
Aaron Ramsey scores again-
These are the sentences i wanna hear when Ramsey returns.
Waiting for your return Rambo.
COYG….!!!
FOYS….!!!
great news….but what about sagna
Good lad. Massive engine.
I’m already imagining what Aaron Ramsey’s statue outside the Emirates would look like.
Thierry Henry = knee-sliding goal celebration.
Dennis Bergkamp = first touch from 25 yard aerial pass
Aaron Ramsey = index finger over his lips ‘shush’ to the Stoke fans after scoring against them and wearing that cheeky smile on his face
Theo Walcott = 2-0 hand gesture to Sp*rs fans
Pure Genius ^
doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo AARON RAMSEY!
Arsenal youth live on eurosport
Gnabry bagged one, nice
Heart-breaking though, 2-2 till the 83rd and then 2-4 🙁
May injuries leave Rambo and follow van pussy to manu, who wil be knocked of out of europe by everton
If you want Rambo to leave you’re a dick
No, he wants the injury to leave.
Sure beats signing Juan Mata for £37 million in a desperate move to save one’s coaching career at the top, top level.
Good to hear him sound so confident. COYG!!
This is a just great to hear; the positiviity, eagerness, desire to get back and finish this season in style – all great things to hear about from a fans point of view. Better still is to hear that Rambo actively thinks about ways to improve his game – as every truly great player does. I’m going to look forward to what awesomeness Aaron will bring to the table. He’s special at the moment (and I don’t mean that in a Maureen sort of way), can’t wait till he is crushingly dominant against other teams in a new era of… Read more »
I’m sorry to post something that has nothing to do with the topic, but I can’t resist. Just look at photo 14 here:

HAHAHAHAHAHA!
He is turning into be a world class player. All those commentators who are drooling over hazard, gerrard, etc. would be shocked to see how good Ramsey will become by next season.
I haven’t seen a transformation like that in any other player since Henry and Fabregas.
is Rambo gonna be back for the chelsea game?
no, don’t think so.
balls. that would’ve been nice.
Must say i was skeptical towards Ramsey since it was far between his impressive displays, and usually he was really rather mediocre, And He did not really ever blossom or show anything near the same talent of other youngsters like Goetze, Shaarawy or Hazard. Until second half of last season when he suddenly started to perform well consistently and getting better for every game. Lets hope he continues to develop with haste, because he do have the potential to be awesome. And as it stand he has become one of the most important cogs in our attacking machinery in a… Read more »
Kept saying it.
The press made out Ramsey was at his peak.
He is no where near it with many years to come.
Hope he can come back shortly and blast us through to the title.
Sadly, he’ll probably miss all the big games except the FA cup semi final and final. Would’ve been great to have him back for Chelsea/City/Everton, but they’re all in the next few weeks and there’s no indication he’ll be back by then.
Brilliant news, for too long fans had complained about the board and manager letting contracts run dangerously low before trying to get a last ditch deal done. We’ve really missed Ramsey, as would any team who was contributing goals and assists like he was, his drive from midfield is key as we have a lot of players who want to get on the ball and make things happen, he can do that but running beyond those players is vital, it’s why Lampard has been so key to Chelsea over the years, and you cannot knock the fat bastards goal record!… Read more »
Please just come back now, doesn’t matter if you are at your best or not.
I think Rambo can be our Lampard,a 20 goals a season box to box midfielder. What a transformation that has been!
Hope he’s back for the Chelski game.Comes off the bench to score the winner in injury time!Oh the look on Maureen’s face 🙂
Oh and forgot to mention that John Terry is a cunt.
