Arsene Wenger has called on Mesut Ozil to increase his goal scoring contribution to the team as the season draws to a close.
Although he’s seen primarily as a creator rather than a finisher, the Arsenal manager believes the German international is capable of scoring more often. His goal against Everton at the weekend was his 6th of the season but his first for three months, and Wenger believes he should be a bit more selfish in front of goal.
“I would like him to find the right balance between being a provider and finisher,” said the boss. “At the moment the balance is a bit detrimental to the finishing. His strong side is providing.
“But he is pacy – much quicker than people think – and with that technical quality and that pace, if he gets into the right areas and with the service we have, he can score goals. He wants to score more goals, I am convinced of that.”
The former Real Madrid man looked revitalised against the Toffees and Wenger says that although there’s some physical recuperation, the player is now over the penalty miss against Bayern last month.
Speaking about his unusually lethargic performances, he said, “It was not only physical, it was mental. He had the feeling he let the team down at a very important moment of the game.
“That affected his performance very much. Psychologically sometimes the wound is like a physical one. You can talk and talk and talk but it takes time. You just have to leave it to time. I think he is over it.
“He has a good opportunity to show on Tuesday night how good he is.”
Özil to score the 3rd in a 4-2 win over Hull. Who wants to give me odds on that, Wenger?
You mean Bayern Munich, right?
Munich = Hull on earth.
My mother cooks socks in Hull…
If you’re gonna poo in Hull, keep pooing
Assister, Assist thyself.
The treble awaits..

He has shown everyone, including german and english press that CLASS IS PERMANENT! Now to the small matter of the bavarians in Munich…
Oh, wait!
You mean Bayern Munich, right?
Dont think anyone doubted him apart from the English media fella, and the drips that read newspapers like The Sun and Daily Mail and take it for gospel.
Unfortunately, quite a lot of our own fans did, and still do, doubt him. Yes, even fans who don’t read The Sun or Daily Mail, which shows how deep-rooted this “flop” narrative is.
Oezil is a slapper
a slapper he was born
so sell him to ManYoo
sack Wenga hire Mourinh-yo.
No
Yeah yeah. Now go back underground where you slithered from. You’re not even worth an expletive.
No I mean Hull. Sorry in getting ahead of myself. I’ll take that for Bayern aswell though. Although id rather it be 3-1. So they are only just on the bad side of the away goals rule this year.
we must unleash Goal-zil-a against Bayern
and Ox-zilla
and Kos-zilla
and cazor-zilla
Ros-zilla
too desperate maybe..
Off topic, but still. If a married couple from Stoke gets divorced, are they still brother and sister?
Do orcs have genders?
No. They are still mother and son tho.

hence the term – Motherfuckers from stoke
Orcs are a bit like jellyfish: they have no brains, no heart, just floating round lashing out with their tentacles, and their gender changes automatically every few years.
so we go to bayern without any pressure and not a little obligation to the fans to set the record straight.
How crucial was it to not concede the second goal. Anyway if we get an early goal, its going to be a night to remember.
since it looks like we are ‘out’ of two competitions it may just spur the right reaction from the players.
all I want is a great performance to take into the remaining league fixtures.
Although I would like very much to see robben weeping at full time.

I’d prefer half time and for the rest of the match, but i’ll happily enough take full. I love watching his hissy fits. They make me happy.
I know that’s not very nice, but what can I say? If you can’t have schadenfreude against a german team and a player like that, why bother learning how to spell it?
Dead right. Now all the team has to do is flick over to the BBC Sport web page and click where it says ‘Robbie Savage looks at how Arsenal should approach…’ I’ve not read any more cos I’ve given myself a hernia from laughing too much and am doubled up in pain, and if I could look up I wouldn’t be able to see through the tears in my eyes.
even his finishing looks like an assist to the back of the net
All thing come to an end. And so will bayerns dominance this Tuesday. Coyg.
Henry killed Real Madrid’s reign. Cesc ended AC Milan’s European dominance. When we beat Barcelona, Arshavin ushered in the beginning of the end of their dominance. Who will break Bayern?
The Witch-King of Sagna
Gozil!
Why did those Everton players think that was the right time to show the world their modern interpretive dance routine?
Meshoooooot Goazil!
The fans have to show him love to unleash his best.
Bayern!!…..you are next in line
Ozil will be a beast next season when he has a full preseason with us. Hopefully, we do have a world class striker next season to take advantage of his passes
