Arsenal will play Hull City in the FA Cup final.
The Tigers beat Sheffield United at Wembley this afternoon to secure their place in the May 17th showdown. Steve Bruce’s side were twice behind the Blades but came back to win 5-3.
It means the two sides which face each other twice in quick succession as Arsenal travel to the KC Stadium next Sunday, a game which was moved at short notice and which has inconvenienced many of the travelling Gooners.
Meanwhile, John Terry is a twat.
Can we play bentner in the final ??
He always scores against hull.
Let’s put a hole in Hull
And then shove a dirty big cannon in that hole.
Do it for your fanbase
do it for yourself
Do it for rosicky
…..theres gonna be a day when you’ll be standing on top of the bus.
Good. Facing a prem league side will hopefully keep our players grounded and they won’t take victory for granted even before the ball has been kicked.
I prayed for this as I was watching the Match. They are a shit team and I bet they would get hammered. Shefied inexperience at d back cost them. May 17th It is. COYG!
United not Wednesday
Fixed, ta
I have some good news for fellow Gooners who don’t already know it:
Shane Long and Jelavic are both FA cup tied so they won’t be playing in the final..
Let us go and win it now. Up The Arsenal 🙂
That’s a great pity as far as I’m concerned. We want to smash those fuckers at full strength. The journalists have already written their match reports. “Arsenal Struggle Against Weakened Hull City in Embarassing Victory.” TWATS.
I’ve given up expecting fair journalism on Arsenal from supposedly unbiased sources. We could do the treble and still wouldn’t get praise without backhanded compliments
*Sheffield United, blogs.
Hull looked a useful side from what I caught of them during the semi final today. Hopefully we ll have some of our key players back and hopefully would have secured 4th. Lets end the drought. Up the Arse!
Alright. Let’s not underestimate them, they’re having a decent season and we’ll have to play well to beat them. No reason why we can’t.
One positive is that Hull aren’t safe from relegation yet and could be dragged into a relegation battle which could help us in the final
like vs birmingham, relegation battle or not he wont be an easy match, well its Arsenal we dont do easy 🙁
did you not watch wigan last season? hull would take the fa cup over staying in the top league anyday
It is down to earth match, but we must avoid slippery coz I think we are winning it Inshaallah. Hull city cum Tigers as they call it, will fall to shooting with gun. It a 3-1 win for the Gunners.
Hull City Tiger Cum. Now THAT’S a name the FA should consider.
what on earth are you talking about??
I’ve just seen clips of Hull celebrating their victory! Will they also get stick for celebrating beating a lower division side?!
As long as we have Ox, Ramsey & Ozil all fit, we have a great chance.
I love your hatred of JT 🙂
Meanwhile, John Terry is a
twat.hahahaha! I like that honestly
Bendtner has to start!!!
We dine on Hull next Sunday, and again on cup final day.
I like the sound of that.
Looking forward to a nice stress sandwich in 5 weeks time.
BPM should have returned to normal by then.
Hull hasn’t really beaten any big teams in their fa cup run. Southend, Brighton, Boro, Sheffield, Sundeland etc whereas we have beaten Liverpool, Everton and Spurs so we should have a upper hand. However, we shouldn’t take hull lightly. They have a good manager who is very astute when it comes to big matches.
Don’t Say That…
As expected its hull. Now we need to go on a run and of course pick up the cup along the way. Coyg
On an unrelated note it’s true john terry is indeed a twat.
It’s been pointed out that if Arsenal finish 4th, Hull City will be guaranteed a place in Europe whatever happens on May 17. Thought-provoking?…
What has John Terry done now !!!
Should read the BBC before posing silly comments
He polled the highest votes cast for universal cuntitude.
Don’t be naive.
Got my final ticket …come on you gooners
pardon my ignorance but how? Didn’t think they’d gone on sale yet…
I’ve got mine too!
I wonder if Diaby will be back for it
Hull in Europe will automatically trigger some Uefa clause whereby all English teams are banned from European competitions for five years except the league winners who have to go through three rounds of qualifying for the Europa League.
Ok 🙂 lets go get that Gunners!
Sanogo has 2 start..
Are they still managed by that orange chav?
Phil Orange is no longer at the club, but his legacy is that I’ve since associated Hull with parochial cliches like, “we got up their noses.” They’re now managed by a blob of rising white dough called Steve Bruce.
The final won’t be easy at all! The pressure will be on us again! This makes next Sunday game against hall very interesting. Another early kick off we could do without! Thanks to JT the scum!
Jelavic and Long may be cup tied, but Sagbo is not some sort of joke, and lets not forget they have a couple ex-Spuds eho will be up for it, including Huddlestone who always seems to be able to score a flukey goal.
Was too afraid to even make a statement like Gunners Hunt down the Tigers. Getting Retweeted , facebooked being called names , getting trashed by Save Tiger campaigners . Well not bothered because i am in none of the social sites and the reason to hate hull is their managers always made me think i was watching a crappy hollywood movie whats with headphones on sidelines.
Well there is always a reason to hate an opponent.
Gerrard talking to his teammates after a good win over citeh is the definition of captain not running for the camera for your latest fucking elfie (and whats with all this after game selfies btw?)
And how much does it hurt to see the 3 clubs fight it out for the title when not long ago we were 4 points ahead?
Both are acts with good intentions that rally the troops and keep up team spirit. Nothing wrong with it, I feel. Though it can be frustrating when we’re in the middle of a shit-storm, I admit.
At this point, any title will do, and d FA seems to come handy
Ozil, Jack and Kos all back…Ramsey match fit….no sweat.
Jack will be out for the rest of the season. But yes, with a bit of luck we can get some players back from injury. Having Ozil play against Hull would be delightful.
Its a date with hull it is hehehe COYG!
Is anyone else embarrassed that the FA can’t even confirm the kick off time of the final? It’s meant to be their showcase match but their website has no details.Yes, we all know why.
There are no other significant matches that day so let’s make it 3pm – it might even give the Hull fans a chance of getting home the same day!!
It’s going to be 5pm, or 5.30.
We have to beat Hull now, because with the likes of Huddlestone & Livermore (Dirty Old Tots) B team we will never live it down, COYG
What a day May 17 will be! FA cup final and Norways 200th anniversary.
Fingers, toes and balls crossed it’ll be Arsenals 11th FA cup trophy!
Id rather be invaded by Sweden than losing the final.
We’re the famous Arsenal and we’re going to Wembley!
Syttende Mai!
Skol!
This final has “Banana skin” written all over it.
Whenever we have been successful in cup finals it has almost always been against the better sides. But whenever we screw up it has usually been against the crap ones.
Examples:
FA Cup Final wins: Liverpool ’71, Man United ’79, 2005.
FA Humiliations: Ipswich ’78, West Ham ’80
League Cup Wins: Liverpool ’87
League Cup Humiliations: Luton ’88, Birmingham 2011
See?
Hull are crap – but they are good enough to turn us over in a cup final. And with our current form that wouldn’t be much of a surprise.
We also beat Southampton in 2003, Sheff Weds in both finals in 93, and we beat the newly formed Chelsea in 2002.
Along with beating Newcastle in 98, the season in which we finished 1st and they finished 13th
I see where you’re coming from but the facts don’t always support your argument:
– in 1971 we won the league, Liverpool were 5th. So who were the underdogs?
– in 1979 we came 5th, Manure came 7th, ditto.
FG You are allowed to be hopeful occasionally 😉
lighten up man jesus
Apart from Walcott we should be at full strength. Time for aw to say to the players preform and you will play the final, let us down in the meantime and you won’t. Time for alot of these players to start performing and paying back his sometimes blind faith in them
this is random but i’d like to know what the consensus is on josip drmic as a future player?
It would be a great signing imo. Seen him play a few times, and he looks like the kind of striker we need i think. Lots of clever movement, and Good at creating chances for himself aswell. And at 21 yrs old and playing for 17th placed Nürnberg no less, he is still fighting Mandzukic and Lewandowski for the golden boot only 1 goal behind the 2 top strikers in the league. Massive talent, and i have no doubt he will be a world class striker. He pretty much is allready at such ayoung age. Impressive Here is a good… Read more »
Also winning the FA cup would be a perfect springboard for more success next season, i just hope we reclaim our position as best offensive premier league team. i’ve watched city and liverpool with some envy this season.
yeah, the comparative GD of the top 3 teams to the following pack including us should put things into perspective. We are a bit toothless up front. I don’t think Wenger is unaware of it nor does he not want to load the quality striker we are screaming for. He recognised this in the summer when he was after Suarez and Higuain. The issue then was likely he did not want to cross the 40m threshold. This in view of who may come available this summer for comparative price. He also had the Ozil situation in mind and was keen… Read more »
Are we gonna be in red or yellow?
I mean if we win the cup and finish fourth, it will still be better than 2nd and 3rd place team if they don’t get any trophies other than the league position. So that would mean the only team in the league better than us would be the eventual title holders. This should still represent modicum progress and enough platform to continue the rebuild. Considering we are but 1-2 players off fully competitive, we are not far off (unless your a ginger headed nitwit) There will be complications of course from the need to replace Sagna, Fabianski and Vermaeln. Hopefully… Read more »
On that note, we have to also consider that we are probably the team with the most pressure heaped on us bc : 1) As oft repeated Wenger has not delivered a trophy in 8 seasons. This has coincided with the (high) but stagnant finish of 3rd ot 4th consistently. 2) We were top of the league for a good stretch which rose expectations. 3) Pellegrini and Mourinho being in their first season (trigger happy bosses regardless) would be given leeway should they fail to land a trophy this season. 4) Ditto Rodgers as any progress would be an improvement… Read more »
As long as we just win da ting, 3rd still looks a possibility in my mind. Pressure does funny things to players. Lets wait and see how the rest of the season pans out. Any news on Ozil and Koschelny coming back? What’s the deal on Jack?
Santori, please for the love of Bergkamp, stop posting the same things over an over.
You thought Pato would be interesting for us in Janurary. We get it. 😉
Last statement was Koscielny, possibly for Tuesday. Ozil, maybe Saturday, and Jack will start running again this week or next. Surely a couple to a few weeks after that.
Oh oh..our current form makes Hull City look like Napoli or Dortmund.
FFS we will still lack players on these last games. I hope im not disappointed at the end of the season. We cant lose a single game now.
We should have players back by the time of the final. Unless I hear the dreaded ”Two weeks” again.
