Boss expecting Ozil return at Hull

Arsene Wenger says that Mesut Ozil should make his comeback from injury this weekend.

The Gunners travel to Hull on Sunday and the record signing is likely to be in the squad having been out of action since the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on March 11th.

It’s a welcome boost for the team at a time when injuries have robbed the manager of many of his best options, but with Ozil on the way, Ramsey finding some fitness again, and Jack Wilshere not too far away, it could be just the right time of the season to get men fit again.

Arsenal moved into fourth place with their 3-1 win over West Ham. It was the fourth time in the last four games that we’ve gone a goal down and then come back to win, and Wenger was pleased with his team’s reaction after the weekend’s exertions.

“Yes, we were tested mentally, but I think we were strong,” he said. “We were united, disciplined, determined, and despite being 1-0 down – I couldn’t see where we could be 1-0 down – it was a big blow but we responded well.

“Overall you could feel that the team was absolutely focused from the first to the last minute. We built slowly a win that I think was normal.”

Winning is good folks, that is the bottom line here. One down, four (in the Premier League) to go.

Yeeeessssssss

El Capitano

Get in!!!!
I cant wait to see him ‘nicking a living’ in our midfield again!! ahahaha!!

He’s going to boss the midfield like a bossing boss.

Atletico Islington

The end of season surge is on, Arsenal to win the double!

But in all seriousness, I’m feeling pretty confident of an a FA Cup and fourth place, though you can never be sure with Arsenal.

Matty

4 cup finals and 1 FA cup final..Let’s do this Gunners

Michael

Better not. They might try to injure him for the FA Cup final.

AllGunsABlazin

The Mighty Umlaut cares not for the play of tigers, for they are mere kittens compared to his raw power!

No but really, he should be fine

gar14

Ha, I liked that 🙂

Aros

Özil and Rambo back. This is very good fellow arses

Atletico Islington

A return to the glory days.

A.K.A the first three quarters of our season.

heroldgoon

Theres always been this thing about facing a team twice in different competitions either concurrently or even a few weeks later where results only go your way in only one of them. Remember pool battered us in the league then we knocked them out of the cup and then again Everton?

As for Sp*rs they are shit.

Hopefully we can avoid this voodoo vs Hull and win all 2 encounters! come on!

The media loved to heap criticism on Ozil all season long, but I think we really noticed a difference once we lost him. As much as sometimes it looks like “he doesn’t care”, he’s endlessly creative and just allows us to have that extra dimension. I think that with the way we are currently set up, the Ramsey-Ozil axis is very crucial to our success, and it is great to them both back from the run/stumble-in!

OOzil

Even if he isn’t creative, the opponents still try to man mark him or put two players on him. So he always creates space for teammates. I still wish he would shoot more often though 😛

ThatArsenalFanFromGermany

Well said. In my opinion his biggest weakness (criticized by most of the media) is also more often than not his biggest strength. He is nearly invisible. It always seems to the critics like he is doing nothing because they don’t see him, but what many people don’t notice is his gameplay without the ball, when the camera is not on him. He creates many opportunities and space in the opponents defense. I hope he will find to his true strength from the first half of the season. I’m very excited to see him on the pitch again. 🙂

GunnerDareMACEDONIA

I hope pulis tomorrow plays his rugby tactic and park the bus vs everton and get a draw of the game, who know maybe chamakh would be our savior tomorrow.

Arsepedant

Draw, hell! Palace will WIN! Although Pubis’ approach with Palace has been far less neanderthal than with Stoke, I hope for this match he sends his boys out to crunch Everton. Bruise some shins and ankles! Deulofeu won’t know what hit him.

BTW, anyone know if there’s any truth to the rumour that we’re after that kid Stones from Everton? I have to say, he looked very good against us.

Atletico Islington

If Pulis had started the season with Crystal Palace they’d probably be eighth or ninth. As much as I hate the guy, it’s mad to consider how good he is at getting rubbish squads up to mid table.

2014-2015 = 2003-2004

He comes from a country not far from Iraq.
He has shit hair and he plays in attack.
Maroanne Chamakh. Maroanne Chamakh.

COYEG!

Rooks

no player ratings eh?

chilly

We can still have a good season afterall. But Wenger should sign players dis Summer.

gunnertillidie

If u had to pick ppl would it be fa cup or 4th?

Mate Kiddleton

Why not both?

0o2Be
gunnertillidie

I would love both and think we will just wanted to see what ppl would pick out of the 2

MTZ

Awesome. We’ve really missed him recently. We’ve lacked creativity for quite a while now. I’m feeling somewhat optimistic now.

laurence

..what was that about winning from a goal down in the last 4 games?..

When do we move forward?

It’s gotten to a point now where even Arsenal wins don’t make all fans happy because of the total distrust of the manager.

There’s going to be a HUGE split in the fanbase if Wenger is given a new contract. I love Arsenal and want us to win every game to make 4th and win the FA Cup but after that, I believe WE (as a family) should have a fresh start.

Jagger

I am sorry, but I have to take issue with your name, as well as the content of your comment. You cannot deny that until now the season has been an improvement over the last few years. We challenged for the title till late February, when before the title challenge would be over by November; we led the league for the longest time, when before we did not lead for a single day; we will be in contention for a trophy even in May, when before all hopes of a trophy were gone by February. I admit that if Arsenal… Read more »

AP

As of the time I read your post, 0/16 shows there is no split as you claimed.

Footballallday

I don’t know if anyone have thought about this, but arsenal can win two titles in just three months( FA cup and the community shield). I am not sure if the community shield is considered a title but the last time I checked, David moyes last title was the community shield

JB

David Moyes’ ONLY title is the community shield!

Oh no, wait.

He won the League Two championship 15 years ago with Preston North End.

bazza

I dont believe Ozil lost any form for he’s creativity to shine he needs players off the ball making runs which he spots there were games that we had no one doing this because at different times them players were injured. Now Rambo TR & OX and JW coming back we will again see his game shine.

YouTube Graduate

Whooha! I’ll will just be rubbing on my nipples till they get sore. This is seriösly good news. (Özil, not the nipple part).

ArseHobbit

Has Serge Gnabry quietly been injured/dropped/kidnapped? Not on the bench again but clearly could have made a difference over the last 5 games…

_

afaik knee injury.

heihaci

I can’t wait for Ramsey and Ozil to be on the same pitch as they seem to get the best out of each other

alvin

we’ll enjoy ozil and rambo better next season with a striker like diego or morata arsenal will be hot as ever. Up Gunners!!!
