Coquelin linked with Ligue 2 move

According to France Football, midfielder Francis Coquelin is in advanced talks with Ligue 2 side Tours FC.

The 23 year old, who spent last season on loan at Freiburg, is surplus to requirements at Arsenal and more than likely available for a nominal fee this summer.

It’s something of a step-down for a player who looked for a time as if he might well forge a place in Arsene Wenger’s squad after impressing on a season long loan at Lorient.

However, after 43 appearances in the red and white, it looks as if his Arsenal career has come to an end.

It does look as if we’re going to get our Coq out at last.

Bon chance to him.

I hear it’s going to be part of a swap deal for our new striker.

wagnar

Heh, I see what you did there :p

Springbank 1965

Andy Delort? Wouldn’t surprise me.

The only Olivier is Giroud

Best of luck, mate! Remember him making a few hardass tackles 2 seasons ago, thought he was going to be our new Flamini until we actually just re-signed Flamini.

das pauly bear

Dont know why we dont play him up front his under 7 manager said he would go on to be a forward haha.

How remembers that comment in here a year ago ?

Getting Coq in the box? I love Coq and can’t see how the two go together..

Hank Scorpio

Who is this swap deal for Alex? I really hope he’s a raw and promising yet injury prone young striker. That idea appeals to me for some reason

Askzidane

No more coq joke..

butters

Hmmm, something is not right with the arsenal academy.

Smokin'Gunner

Like so many young players maybe he’s a bit too Coqqy

G-rod

I thought he did well for the gunners 2 Seasons ago. Made himself available for passing a lot, when not many of them were

indiangooner

Coq out. Hahaha. Stay classy Blogs.

Black Hei

I think the main problem with Coquelin is that he is lacking in patience. He demands first team football when he isn’t necessary ready.
If he had stayed on last year and stayed injury free, he even be given a shot at RB.
Strong in the tackle, fast and technical. But lost his way in Germany. Pity really.

According to the laws of Quantum Mechanics, WENGA can be OUT & IN at the same time. So please STOP FIGHTING

From Arsenal to Ligue 2 .. That must be hard to swallow.

HANDS OFF OUR COQ!

All the best to him if he does leave. Shame really as I thought he definitely would have been one of those players to progress into the senior team with a regular starting place like Wilshere and Gibbs did.

Adams9802

A pity really as he seemed all set to be a useful squad player to slot into midfield or an outside back. I wish him well and hopefully he’ll get a good career abroad.

Merlin's Panini

Ligue 2?
Come on, don’t flop Coq.

Rohail

Swap deal for our new Boscielny

pedro

It must be hard on our Coq but if our Coq is going to go off anywhere it might as well be in France.

Henry! Chance!! Goal!!!

Sir, please put that Coq back in. We’ll call the police

Lord Nicki B

Coquelin sets out on a new path.
From Arsenal to Ligue 2.
The first of humankind to go against the trend

2014-2015 = the year we've been waiting for

Nothing’s done yet. He could pull out in the last second.

Guy gadbois

I’ll miss you gays!!!!

Whisht

A shame – I thought our Coq could fill up the hole.
After a few stabs at it, it seems not.

It happens (I’ve heard this a lot) and not something to be embarrassed about.

I’m sure he’ll fit right in somewhere else.

Rooks

Bad bad decision, he’s done well evrytime I’ve seen him play, strong in the tackle, assured on the ball and reasonably quick and reliable man ot bring the ball forward.

Disappointed to see us sell a player who add depth to our squad.
