Alexis Sanchez will wear the number 17 shirt for Arsenal with the name ‘Alexis’ on the back.
The Chilean, who signed yesterday from Barcelona, takes the number from Nacho Monreal who, it appears, will wear the number 18 this season.
Further changes include Gedion Zelalem moving from 58 to 35 and Serge Gnabry now at 27 instead of 44. It comes on the back of Kieran Gibbs getting hold of the number 3 shirt after the departure of Bacary Sagna, while Mathieu Debuchy is expected to take the number 2 when his signing is made official.

From what i’ve read about Alexis in the past 24 hours along with a world class talent footballing talent we also have an extremely humble and hard working player for our money. All the talk of players giving up squad numbers for him is simply a nonsense as he’s simply not that type of guy anyway.
I would have thought club gave him lower number that. I don’t understand first team players having 16, 17 number etc.
