Wenger lets Charlton have a go of his Coq

Francis Coquelin has joined Charlton on a short-term loan deal.

The midfielder will play for the Championship club until December 1st and is in their squad for their next game against Leeds United tomorrow evening.

Coquelin spent last season on loan at FC Freiburg in the Bundesliga but has made just one appearance for the Gunners this season, playing at left back in the Capital One Cup defeat to Southampton.

Hopefully he can make an impact at The Valley, adding some thrust and penetration to their midfield.

Good luck to him.

Would be a better option than Flamini in my opinion but never mind, looked good against Southampton

Roitenak

He had good energy in the COC game but he’s probably lacking too much in other areas to make a positive impact for us at the moment.

Not sure if his best position is sitting deep in midfield or moving back and forth relentlessly as a box-to-box player though…

alex

One step closer to some kid from the under 15s starting in the back four then…

eternalflamini

Don’t blame him. I’ve heard Charlton is pretty athletic. (I’ll get my coat)

Zimsagunner

Between him and Frimpong we had our defensive midfielder. It is not such a complicated role they had the physical and technical ability but the manager has this ability to freeze out players.

Double98

one is a coq and the other a dick?

2014-2015 = the year we've been waiting for

Actually Frimpong’s hair looks like the opposite of a cock, what some would call a ‘Brazilian’.

Coquelin had all the required potential. Something went wrong at Freiburg though.

Plev

Yeah, he was played on the left wing..

WengersNoseHair

Not such a complicated role? You’re having a laugh son.

And Coquelin is 5’10” and 163lb, so about average size.

Gargoyle

Average size is about 6 inches bro

I don’t know if physical and/or technical ability is enough to make it at the top level. They’ve had their chances, and they couldn’t take advantage. It is also about awareness, discipline and attitude on and off the pitch; ability to deal with the pressure. There are so many things that go on behind the scene in evaluating a player that we don’t know about. Sometimes it is sheer bad luck. What makes our success stories like Cesc or Jack or even Ashley (I know) so special was that the moment they were thrown into the deep end, not only… Read more »

This move will help the Coq to raise his level

The Woj Factor

FINALLY! The news we’ve all been waiting for! I can sleep at night now

The Only Olivier is Giroud

It seems to be rather unlikely, I fear, but I really hope he makes it with us. Couple of tidy showings for the first team 2 seasons ago.

Close to the line on puns… I like it Mr blog! As for the move Coq will be another denizen slipping into the abyss at some point. When will we realise that our strength used to lie in a player such as vier and buy according to shore up the middle of the park. Diary is our closest mould but he’s made of glass. We need that physical presence in there to steady the nerves!

rayparlourshandsometwin

Sorry bloody auto correct Denilson and Diaby!

Dylan

hehehe

Just let out the coque

Scott Rogers

Hard not to feel that Arsene may regret letting his Coq go off so early, with a big hole at the back…

Deejay

Coq, Thrust, Penetration. Hmmm.

Some of the phrases and words used in Sports…

Ronaldo's Paunch

must be hard on Coq.

JCB

I sure hope he returns, if only so the sexual innuendo never stops. The jokes alone are clearly worth 20,000 per week.

Need the Coq to become an Arsenal legend so we can talk about the erection of his statue.

The Gun

As long as there’s no erection on his statue it should be ok.

Mark

Definitely think he is not the answer to any of our areas of need and could do well with more time on loan, but does seem like strange timing with our lack of depth in the back right now as he has some experience covering both outside back positions. Gibbs is held together with dental floss that will surely break again soon and seems strange to do a month long loan right now when we could use the cover if needed.

Groznyy, Chechnya

So the Coq loses its staying powers at the emirates and heads to charlton athletic, huh? Coat, backdoor, taxiiiii!

Pakistan Arsenal!

Never thought Arsene would let charlton have his coq

SG

Impact with some thrust and penetration. Phrasing! Boom!

Arseblood

I was really hoping Coq would grow into an important member.
I’d like to see him come off the bench more and really get up and down.

Ancient Gooner

Getting fed up with the jokes but you actually made me giggle. Nice one 🙂

oursenaul

He wasn’t even making the bench, it’s ok to let him go and play a little instead of sitting around watching from the stands.

Daft as a brush with the law

Pity he’s gone. He was a really good option to play in the hole.

Why do you ask my name? It is beyond understanding

He was a good option to play in the hole.
