Festive fixtures set for TV broadcast

Arsenal’s hectic Christmas schedule has been reshuffled following the latest live broadcast selections by Sky Sports and BT Sport.

Games against Aston Villa, Manchester City and Southampton will all be on TV while the visit of Bournemouth will be pushed back a few hours to give Arsene Wenger’s men a few extra hours rest after the trip to St Mary’s.

The Gunners could play up to seven games in December as follows…

1/2 December
Capital One Cup 5th Round (if we beat Sheffield Wednesday).

Saturday 5 December
Sunderland
Home / 3pm

Wednesday 9 December
Olympiacos
Away / 7.45pm

Sunday 13 December
Aston Villa
Away / 1.30pm

Monday 21 December
Manchester City
Home / 8pm

Saturday 26 December
Southampton
Away / 7.45pm

Monday 28 December
Bournemouth
Home / 5.30pm

Hmmmm…this is hectic especially southampton five days after Man$hity. We need to be mentally strong.

What baffles me however, are those presumed lightweight teams may cause real upsets! Therefore, none of those teams should be taken with pinch of salt. Sunderland and Aston villa will want to prove something since Arsenal are associated with “switch-off”. They will want to prove something.

If we can scale those hurdles, our journey to EPL conquest is 45% done, the second half of the season will be colossal! Hope Arsene strengthen the team in January window

Hate to watch big matches in Monday night foorball!

Fuck me, what a hectic schedule. Can’t believe the Festive Season is almost upon us. I have exams coming up, and instead of studying, I’m on Arseblog patrolling for updates.

Goone's Farm

Medical student here, same story. I hold Blogs and Arsenal accountable if I fail this semestre!

Samer

The Bournemouth game is on at 5:30 UK time. I believe.

Le Jim

Still find it so ironic that for all the TV money coming into English football, they still don’t show all the games in Britain.
Come to Australia, gooners. All welcome x

dk

Or even better come to South Africa where you can watch all the games without the hectic time difference 😉

Le Jim

To be honest, I’m tempted myself. Looking to go down to SA for a bit of safari/cage diving after I finish school 🙂

Tenzo (Theo's secret lover)

We have a lot more than just safari drives to offer brother. Tonnes of touristy shit to do here, so I’m certain you’ll have a good time. 🙂

Sticks

Understand, but if all games shown live it would kill all football below the premier league

According to Arsenal.com is the Bournemouth game on Monday, December 28th at 17.30. Just 46 hours after the Southamton game….
You wrote 19.45. Is that correct?

Paul

Southampton on Boxing Day evening will be a doddle with no trains running.

TV…Money

Off topic.

Looks like Kloop is going to Liverpool. I think it would improve Liverpool.

I was interested in that story because I for one was hoping he would succeed (not necessarily replace) Wenger but wouldn’t be so sure after a stint with Liverpool.

What a busy month will my arsenal undergo, oh my God be with my guys

Getso gunner

Except Mancity, all those games are winnable and we should win them

Joel

Thank goodness every televised game up to Southampton is on Sky Sports. BT’s coverage is awful.

AntiSpud

So one of the Croatia lad was on drugs when they played us! Mike (the twat)Dean helped the chavs. Who knows what the Greeks has been up to too. Clearly the time to consult the jujus. I’m calling my cousin from lagos

Clock-End Mike

Arsenal v Man City on a Monday evening? What a disaster this TV deal is turning out to be!

We’ll be having Tuesday lunchtime games next (hopefully on non-European weeks).

OK, they’re paying a lot of money to show the PL games, but what about the fans?

Kolo Toure Ballsack

I don’t want to sound like a humungous idiot, but have there always been champions’ league games in December?

Arsepedant

Yes, usually the final group game is the first week of December.

Arsepedant

I don’t understand the point of the start time for the Southampton match. Why would a Saturday match start at 7:45 pm? Why wouldn’t it start at 5:30 pm, as do all the other late Saturday kick-offs? It’s shitty for the travelling fans. They won’t be out of the stadium until close to 10:00 at night!

dutchgunner

I hate these changes and it’s the reason I can’t visit the stadium more often from abroad. The most ideal time for me is when the game kicks of at 15.00 BST because of transportation. Almost none of our home games have been at this time. And if they are they get re-scheduled too much.

The only upside is that i can see more games on tv because of the restrictions they have of only showing one game at a time.

Seanie

Anybody know when the Jan TV schedule will be released? Booking flights for 22nd Jan game against Chelsea. Will surely be moved from 15:00 Saturday kick off?
