Petr Cech, fresh from setting a new Premier League record for clean sheets, has hailed Mesut Ozil as the reason why Arsenal top the table.
The German was in exceptional form against Bournemouth, creating 9 chances overall, getting a goal and an assist to his name. Speaking to The Football Show on SiriusXM FC, Cech was full of praise for the club’s record signing.

We are top of the league!
This is my contribution to this post.
Thank you.
Can anyone tell me what he said? Well how does it feel being on top of the league going to 2016? We cant afford to give that spot out to any undeserving team. Let us make the top our home till the end of the league…….#LongmayitLast
Yes. And by “end of the league”, let us hope you mean the year 5364309296, when the sun begins its expansion into a red giant and football can no longer be played on planet Earth.
Haven’t even listened yet but I will do. Cech is awesome, Ozil is awesome and if we repeat the first half of the season over the second half of the season, and the other teams do the same, we are champions!
Cech lauds about Ozil.
Cech: Ozil is amazing… Bla.. Bla.. Bla Arsenal Top of The Table!!!
Ian Wright quoted tonight….and I paraphrase slightly “if we had better centre forwards we would dominate for years!”
How many chances did Walcott and Giroud miss badly last night that an Aguero or Sturridge would score from?
That’s the difference now….
Agreed. He created 9 chances, scoring one himself and the only other person to score (and come really close again) was Gabriel! Walcott and Giroud (apart from his fantastic assist) were awful last night trying to convert. You could even see Ozil’s body language saying “WFT” as they missed chance after chance he laid on for them, and these were pinpoint acurate balls as well, so no excuses other than being sloppy against such a vulnerable side. Seriously, a provider of that quality deserves someone equally as good on the end of it, then we’d be Champions for sure.
Alexis would have scored five … pray for him. Happy NY to all Gunners
And how many did Sturridge and Aguero score away at Leicester while we scored 5 there.
shhh Man. If Aguero and Sturridge were that good they’d have to stay fit for a start. Sturridge is more broken than any of our players and Aguero is looking more and more like a flat track bully with every game. If only he could play Newcastle every week when fully fit.
“That’s the difference now …”
The difference between what and what? First place and wherever we are now?
Between us not winning the league in years and winning it consistently in years to come.
Obviously…Cech uses this word quite a lot.
But we are still top of the table… sing
Alexis’ mouth must water watching his teammate pull strings from the bench. Can’t wait for him to be back. Should be a great year. Cheers to Cech. Fantastic milestone.
With his vision I’m sure Ozil could do a damn good job at child support agency..he would find all the missing dads in no time
Media saying Sanchez is asking Wenger to get Hernandez..they are even saying he is begging lol..but if we can get Hernandez this January, that would be awesome..he is certainly a better striker than Walcott/Giroud..and I guess it would also be a justice to the creativity of Mesut Ozil genius
Ozil would have break the assist record already if only our strikers weren’t that clumsy.
ozil rocks
