Wenger eyes May talks with Ozil and Sanchez

Arsene Wenger says Arsenal will sit down with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez at the end of the season to discuss extending their respective contracts.

Reports in the last few days have claimed talks are already taking place with the duo’s representatives, however, the boss made clear he’s happy to wait.

“We’ll deal with that later in the season,” told his pre-Southampton press conference. “At the moment we focus more on the present. We’ll deal with that around May.”

Ozil and Sanchez, already Arsenal’s highest earners with weekly pay packets in excess of £100,000, are under contract until 2018 and 2019 respectively meaning there’s immediate rush to tie them down to new deals.

On Monday Ozil was quoted in Kicker magazine stating: “My contract runs until 2018, that is for another two and a half years.

“There is no need to hurry. There are no talks at the moment but I can only say that I am very happy in London and that my decision to come here from Real Madrid was the right one.”

It’s likely each will earn a decent pay rise to reflect their impressive performances on the pitch. Alexis was the club’s leading goal scorer in his debut season with 25 goals while Ozil has blossomed in 2015 to become European football’s top assist maestro.

If it happens, it happens. Heh.

Ozil and Alexi have redefined Arsenal.

They will deserve pay rises, if we have won the title I’m sure they will extend.

Though we may need to sign up Flamini again.

He is too old. We need to get someone else younger signed in January to challenge Coquelin for that role.

The point is, Özil is best friends forever with Flamini 🙂

He is Ozil’s best mate.

Mesut’s friends never get old!

Being a billionaire playing for a millionaire that tells you something about Flamini’s character

Saying ‘around May’ is all well and good, but I wish he’d let us know if it was before or after we’ve wrapped up the Treble.

The Playmaker

Seriously? How arrogant from Wenger!!
When a jobless manager sacked from his last two clubs tell you that the world cup winner and leading assister in all of Europe hasn’t proved himself, you fucking listen.
But no, what does Wenger do? Fucking reward him with a new contract and keep on starting him in all matches.
Next thing you know, he will start saying that assists leads to goals or some other bullshit.
