Mesut Ozil has been crowned Arsenal’s Player of the Season, as voted by supporters.
The German international, 27, enjoyed a stellar campaign, racking up eight goals, 20 assists and 181 scoring opportunities for his teammates in 46 appearances across all competitions.
His impressive stats had already caught the eye of his peers and the press who shortlisted him for both the PFA and Football Writers’ Player of the Year awards.
Arsenal didn’t reveal the 27-year-old’s margin of victory in the vote, but when you consider Alexis, who had a mixed bag of a season, came in second, it’s likely to have been a landslide.
Congratulations to Mesut on a much-deserved award; let’s hope his impressive performances lay down a marker for future seasons and his teammates.

While Ozil’s performance is par for course, Bellarin continues surprise.
He not only consolidated his position so quickly after the break through season but he looks to be on course to redefining the position! Unbelievable num of assists and key passes for both someone so young and playing in that position!
Ozil deserves it but next year, I want him to score 15 goals in addition to the assists. Love Alexis but Monreal should have come second, Cech or Bellerin 3rd.

Alexis had a poor season by the very high standards he set himself,
and don’t forget Ozil was left off the PFA team of the year…..for a guy with 7 assists (Payet)

Well deserved and he kept making chances this year despite the others not putting them away.
If we could have an Henry to his Bergkamp (as a rough comparison) plus have another one or two players more putting 10 goals in then we’d be really firing.

Can’t tell whether this is a “Best of Ozil” compilation video or “Worst of Everyone Else” compilation video. What a player he is though, would love to see him smash the PL assists record next season!
I ask nothing more of Mesut except a few more finishes and to grow his hair back out. His new cut looks very London-ish and smart, but long hair would unleash his full power. Robert Pires tells him this in training all the time

The video depresses me. Professional footballers need to do something more relevant with such good, simple, usable feed.
Atleast more than:
a) looking confused about shooting like a 10 year old
b) shots off-goal which end up on the neighbouring street
c) shots that are so limp a grandmother could stop them with her butt-cheeks
Ramsey, Alexis, Giroud, younameit, our best players are guilty of mis-using, or under-apreciating such wonderful on-a-platter keypasses. Thank you, Mesut.

Alexis 2nd? My choice would definitely have been Nacho Monreal, the man was the epitome of consistency. He’s probably the most underrated in the squad.

Awesome Ozil. Well deserved. And unrelated note to Blogs, have you tried Izotope RX for audio correction re: the podcast? I’ve used it a few times at my job and it’s a miracle worker when it comes to removal of hums, clicks, clipping, sweetening etc…..

I proceed to watch and realized what a fine drinking game this video can make.

Sorry to be critical but looks like Ramsey, Giroud and Walcott bottled lots of chances else his assist tally would have been around 30 and we would have won the league with Ozil nominated in Ballon d’or.
Also after looking at the video, I fail to understand why we neglected Campbell. He is much more of goal threat than Walcott, Chambo and Ramsey(wings) combined.

Özil had a pretty immense season and it’s crazy to think that it could have been even better with more accomplished finishing!
I should add that I absolutely loved all of our goals this season, especially those assisted by Mesut as they were invariably top class. But I’m fucking greedy when it comes to this game of ours and I want more goals, nay, I need more goals. Where will they come from? Because they are coming. Next season my friends, next season.

Then they deemed to think Fabregas was a better buy and went on ad tedium about it forgetting the Spaniard’s defective Barca DNA

You won’t see anything in the press about this any time soon nor the fact that they said Petr Cech was on the decline and Arsene penny pinched on him…but he won the golden gloves anyway.
