Bellerin back in training with Spain U21s

After earlier reports that Hector Bellerin had suffered an ankle injury during Spain U21s 3-0 win over San Marino, comes more positive news.

The Arsenal man is reportedly back on the training pitch, putting to bed any worries he might have suffered significant damage after what was described as a ‘hard tackle’.

It means he’s in line to face Estonia U21s on Monday, although no doubt Arsene Wenger will be keeping a close eye on proceedings.

Bellerin has started 9 of Arsenal’s 10 games this season, playing the full 90 each time. The only game he sat out was the 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup.

PJ

Perfect fit!

Hope for Hector’s return with bated breath. International games are a pain imho…

AngelGooner

BOOM. Hector is unbreakable.

UtahGooner

Dude …. !!! WHY ?????? Why say that … ???? 😐

Abhi

Why in the fuck is he playing for Spain under 21s? His quality is much past that. He should either play right back for the Spain senior side, or not play at all

AGunner

Leave our bellerin the fuck alone. Pointless shitty u21 competition. I’m sure they can find some actual non first teamers to play?

SB

Many U21 managers are alike, trying to select the best team to win the game/tournament.

Where its a problem is when young players have already made a break through for their clubs and are playing regularly.

It would be common sense not to over use the player to the detriment of the longer term. If only common sense was common.

Le Jim

Thank fuck. If anyone touches my Hector, they’ll have to deal with me… and my angry words… on the Internet.

Indian Gooner

Now leave our Hector alone and return him back to us.. Please.
And Thank you.

The reporter is David cartlidge – does he specialise in injury news?

Higher

They kneeded a specialist.

Parisian Weetabix

Yes, he does have a tendoncy to report on injuries.

PeteyB

I was wondering that myself. Always enjoy a little bit of nominative determinism, even if its a tenuous in this case. Maybe he specialises in bone injuries…

Because Wenger apparently now (according to some fans) corrupts players and turns them into poor players. The old nugget that Wenger will fine a player for shooting. So Wenger can never develop players like Bellerin, Iwobi, Coquelin (all of whom he brought through and showed faith in doing so as oppose to his naysayers) Or Koscielny, MOnreal, Giroud, unknowns who have elevated their game. Or Ozil even last season the 42.3m panic buy who almost equaled Henry in assists, or buy well like Granit (early panic buy) or Mustafi (what a waste of time that was) So people have to… Read more »

You are simply a panic born yourself

I can see why the Spanish U21 squad would want to use Hector if he’s not in the senior squad, however it makes no sense for him to have played against San Marino’s U21 – a game where senior side would have rested/rotated players in an equivalent fixture.

David Omogo

Sometimes media can exaggerate things in a wrong way. Bellerin is back to full training shut down media

assistantref

Shouldn’t be playing for the U21s anyway, especially not in stupid qualifying games against weak teams that don’t matter at all. He’s way too good for that crap. Give a chance to someone who needs the chance, not to the best RB in the PL.
