Arsene Wenger says that Arsenal must not rest on their laurels despite being on an 11 game unbeaten streak in all competitions.
The Gunners are currently level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City, sit top of their Champions League group on goal difference and have progressed to the EFL Cup fourth round since losing to Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
Responding to suggestions his side have avoided a potential ‘virus of negativity’ by beating bogey-side Swansea last weekend, Wenger told his pre-Middlesbrough press conference that his side’s challenge is to maintain focus in every game.
“Nothing has gone in our game. You have to accept that. I believe that humility is to understand that you start from zero [every game].
“We are in a jungle. We live in a jungle where everybody wants to eat you and you have to survive by keeping your vigilance. That’s what competition is all about. Every day you have to fight to survive.”
He added: “The love to win and the competitiveness of the Premier League is absolutely exciting. We live all in a jungle, you and I together.”
Wenger also touched on the form of Arsenal’s rivals predicting a tight title race based on what he’s seen so far this season.
“Before the season everybody would say that it could be a tight and interesting championship.
“After the first two or three games you could see that people feared that City would run away with it…United won the first three games as well. I believe we’re all in the same pack there and it’s down to being consistent and focusing on game after game.
“You have to make the points and find in every single game a solution [to the problems] your opponents give you and be ready to focus for 90 minutes. From Man City to United, everybody has a chance, Chelsea…everybody has a chance.”
We fear not thee! We have Le Coq!
I’m in paradise city with the football we’re playing right now
Me too. If someone had said to me in the summer that we would buy a striker but in fact wouldn’t really use him that much, despite the fact Giroud is going to suffer an injury, choosing instead to rely on Alexis up top with Walcott alongside him, I’d have gone f*cking nuts. I suspect a lot of us would.
But here we are, joint top and looking very promising, with options still to come. Life’s good in football land.
Where the grass is green and Özil is pretty
I was hoping to see a mock-up of Arsene as Axl Rose, but to no avail :’-(
Hi I’d like to hire Arseblog Design for their artwork. Can you please send me the contact details? Cheers.
Amazing. Is it possible to transform Ryo Miyaichi into the tiger? I just think it would be fun.
Johnny Wengmuller.
Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games!
Shananananananana knees..knees..
Taking a good look at that pic, I wouldn’t wanna meet Alexis in that jungle too…… don’t wanna be a south American snack
Wenger basically said Everyone has a chance… even Chelsea…
If we have to go off in pairs, I put dibs on jenko. Imagine the banter
Let’s keep focusing and praying without being carried away. Hopefully, the guys will keep up the pace
Good luck guys.
As soon as I saw the title i couldn’t wait to see the image blogs had whipped up. Not disappointed at all. LOL
Is that Hector? Third from the right? The hair suits him, to an almost disturbing level. Donald Trump would be trying to grab him by the pussy.
what’s that creature lurking in the undergrowth, with its mouth wide-open hoping to lure in some innocent insect for its next snack? is it a crocodile? is it a frog? is it a lizard? oh wait…it’s…Kane!
Love how Chelsea was an afterthought here.
Jungle is massive
