Alexis Sanchez says that the Arsenal squad are determined to win the Premier League title this season, and has expounded the virtues of having plenty of depth.
In recent games the likes of Olivier Giroud, determined to win his place back, and Aaron Ramsey have come back from injury to contribute significantly, while the bench has looked stronger than it has in years.
Speaking to the official site, the Chilean forward said, “We have a great team, our ambitions are high and we want to win the league.
“We’ve got some new players and a fantastic squad. Regardless of who’s playing, we all need to be 100 per cent focused on our work with the team and the club.
“Sometimes you might have an off day and you need a player to come off the bench and help you out, so that’s why the squad players are just as important as the starting XI.
“It’s tough to keep it going, but if we stick together and keep putting the running in, I think this team can win it all.”
He certainly sounds confident, so hopefully we’ll see something more like Arsenal at their best when we face Man United at Old Trafford after the Interlull.
If he truly believes this then he should sign a new contract. It would be a statement to all that Arsenal are in the business of keeping their best players and that top players want to play here.
Indeed. Sometimes it feels like these players say what the fans want to hear, rather than what they think. I hope he genuinely means that otherwise if he leaves, it would be quite disappointing.

This is the guy who told reporters in Chile that he was disappointed to win only an FA cup, for a champions league win would have been better.
It will be difficult to keep him happy, but there’s no doubt he’s putting in his shift week in week out.

Let’s get off the guy’s back, let him know we love having him here at the Arsenal, and hopefully win him that championship that he wants. Who knows? I’m willing to be patient. It’s eary days yet, and things will work out in their own time.

He cares only about winning. We win — he stays; it’s that simple. I respect his honesty. His only loyalty is to winning and we need someone like that in the club to wake up the journeyme in the squad.
As I mentioned before, we need ALL our players in the squad as options. There are no automatic starters save maybe Bellerin and the Cbacks at the moment. Not even Alexis or Ozil should be sacred cows. Players come in and out of form. Giroud will bring something different to the plate. Ox and Iwobi will have their ups and downs being young players. When we first signed Lucas, I was hoping he’d play on the left wing and more so now with Alexis up top. 1) they both speak Spanish which makes communication and understanding each other a bit easier 2) Alexis has always played better up top with a 2nd striker and 3) both are fighters, goal scorers and creative. I wish a speedy recovery from them both! Meanwhile, HFB, Rambo and Ox need to step up these upcoming fixtures!!! #COYG
