Boss reveals latest team news ahead of Bournemouth

Arsene Wenger has provided the latest team news update ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

Following Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw with PSG, there are no new injuries, so everyone available for that is in contention.

“Cazorla and Bellerin are still out,” he said.”We have nobody coming back.”

“Lucas was in training for the first time again today, he might be in contention for Wednesday (EFL Cup), but one training session is not enough to play on Sunday.”

Wenger was also asked about Jack Wilshere, who can’t play in Sunday’s fixture because of Premier League rules.

“I’m happy that he develops well,” he said. In the end it was a good decision for him because he gets regular football.

“He’s getting stronger every week, it’s exactly what he needed to play regular football. Maybe not every three days but certainly every week.

“It can help him to get back to the level he should be at.”

Good god please give us Santi back soon!

Alex

Why? We’ve got Aaron Ramsey!

La Défense

The sarcasm, it bites.

Goon

For Christmas

bob davis

Two weeks from when he’s in training. I don’t think Wenger will throw Cazorla back in so it will be gradual return. I’d say early January. Bloody hell we miss him badly.

Ricado

By golly Goon ! You’ve probably stumbled across something important. Will Santi show on Christmas eve and play on boxing day?!?!

SG_Gooner

oh! from the table right now, we can win this sunday and cement our 4th place for this weekend…

tapps

A Ramxhaka midfield pivot for Sunday please!

yas

well rather him play with xhaka than being shoe horned into right wing

BromleyGooner

I would love to see him shoe horned onto the bench. Impact sub

Gunner73

Xhaksey has a nicer ring to it

Fireman Sam

Graaron Ramka?

Gooooooooooooona

Definitely, Ramsey was at his best with arteta who isn’t half as good as coq at defending but his forward passing and vision was great, Xhaka can do that and better!

Petit's Handbag

So Jack’s staying fit, I think if he can last the season without injury there serious questions need to be asked of our fitness/medical team. They should really have been asked years ago when Rosicky was out for three weeks in January 2008.

Why does everyone automatically assume that we drop Coquelin?
He’s been one of our best and most underrated players this season.

thebetterJFK

He doesn’t work well with Ramsey at all and Wenger clearly wants Ramsey to play but shoe horning him out wide isn’t working and the thought is playing him in the middle will be the only way to try to get the best out of him, he needs a ball player beside him, so Xhaka makes the most sense

clins

exactly . naturally boss prefers a deep lying playmaker and box to box player who presses high up the pitch. cazorla does the first thing and coquelin does the latter. they complement each other very well.

but without cazorla the individually coq may be good but pairing him with xhaka, elneny or ramsey will work but will not be effective. xhaka-ramsey pair is the future of the club. that pair have everything . a deep lying playmaker, box to box player, goals.. just hoping this works as well as we assume.

loose_cannon

He’s been one of our best for sure but we’ve lack creativity in the middle of the park in recent games. Ramsey and Xhaka could give us that. Against the so-called lesser sides we might as well play with a more forward thinking line up at CM

Chamakh

He played well with Cazorla. Even his performances have dropped since cazorlas injury.

LucidGunner

Some of the criticism of Coq is that he’s pretty useless once we’ve one the ball. None of our midfielders are as good defensively as Coq, but they are all better going forward (even Elneny). And when you play a possession style game like Arsenal do, you really need all 11 players to be able to attack well.

Gooneron

Am liking the Lucas update more

Rosicky7egend

Debuchy?

Getso gunner

Please comeback Santi

Oooh Ahhh Ray Parlour!

When both match fit would you play Jenkinson thumbs up or Debuchy thumbs down? Someone who has Arsenal in his blood & will fight tooth & nail for the club, but that lacks the technical quality of a top right back or a man that wanted to give up on competition for his position at the first sign of a challenge, but is a very established right back when at his best. It would be a tough call for me…

Gooner1973

I’d play chambo there

MrBure

I can’t believe people calling for the Aaron-Granit midfield partnership to be given a run out don’t get it. The Boss will never play a RamXhak-le midfield. Get it, ’cause it sounds like “ramshackle”? I’ll get my coat.

Colfromdeal

No new injuries yeeeeeees.

Matt P

I predict a big lift for this game…us by 3 goals

MerteXhaka

Hit them for 5. Alexis hat trick. COYRG!
