Shkordran Mustafi says that Arsenal showed real character to come from 1-1 to beat Bournemouth 3-1 at the Emirates yesterday.
The Gunners took the lead through Alexis Sanchez, but after referee Mike Jones awarded the visitors a very soft penalty it was all uphill for Arsene Wenger’s men.
The German international believes it was down to a team who have the ability to come back from difficult positions.
“When you are on the front foot and you get a penalty against you and they score, 1-1, it gives them belief again and then it gets difficult,” he told Arsenal Player.
“But we showed good character in the second half with sharpness and cleverness. We managed the game really well and then we scored the two goals which then gave us the three points.”
Hank Sporpio then blew up France.
Ah well.
Can’t ask much more of the Kostafi partnership – never played together before but unbeaten so far.
Let’s hope they keep it going!
Nobody ever says Italy.
I like the positivity from the lads but I wish they actually waited until they achieved something first.
And being top of the selfie league isn’t an accomplishment…
I know the media asks for all these quotes but it would be better if the players ignored them (as much as they could).
They just need to keep their heads down, keep focused we can see how we’re doing in a few months time.
Matter of fact, i didn’t even give you my coat!
Was watching MOTD2 last night……..fuckin bizarre stuff. They analysed the ass out of the Monreal possible hand ball in the second half, penalty or no? They analysed the ass out of the Monreal/Wilson coming together in the box in the first half, penalty or no? They analysed to the fuck degree, the Mustafi push in the back on a Bournmouth player , in the box, at a corner kick , in the second half……..”lucky not to concede a penalty”. On the other hand, Zero, and I mean zero, analysis of the foul edge of box on Alexis first half. Zero… Read more »
Probably because penalties are higher stakes calls
Holy shit we have Bart Simpson and Hank Scorpio!
Let’s hope we never sign Homer.
Or Barney, for that matter.
Tony Adams?
I didn’t realize till today that Mustafi’s originally Albanian, which so is Xhaka. Although they’re different from turkey they’re very similar, so it just shows you how much thought wenger actually put into their recruitment. You can’t help but think they were brought for ozil.
Cant imagine it had anything to do with his recruitement at all haha. More like the quality of players to go and drop 65million quid on the two.
Wenger should have gone for ‘Marco from Tropoje’ too!
