On-loan Arsenal striker Takuma Asano notched a goal and an assist for Stuttgart in their 3-1 win over Nuremburg last night.
Here’s the goal:
And the assist:
And it looks like he put in an energetic display overall:
Takuma Asano covered more ground (12.05km) and completed more sprints (33) than any other player on the pitch today.

Takuma the Yokohama…
He has bigger tyres than the Chav’s yokohama
Let’s be honest, for his first goal he went completely ninja! The back line didn’t even know he was there until he got the ball. Well taken goal nonetheless!
Neat finish. Between the legs of the keeper!
He always times his run well
His runs were very intelligent. Impressive work
I was going to make precisely that point. He seems to have good instincts, pace and awareness. I particularly liked the assist, he just drifts quietly from out wide into a dangerous position, offers himself for the pass and makes a cracking run.
I can see exactly how he could fit into this side.
Hopefully this loan stint does him good and build him up for the league!
Somehow he feels different to the other Japanese that we have in the past..
More of the same please!
Im no expert but i think japanese football has progressed a lot in the last 20 years in terms of depth of talent. Maybe in another 50 we won’t have to hear tedious remarks about shirt sales.
Pure Arsenal player, passes when he should have shot, scores when he wants
Good marking for the goal
Hes getting a good run in the side which shows his qualities and atributes continue like this he’s deffo of the Arsenal mould
With his goal celebration he could get a deal with Jack Wolfskin.
Or wonderbra…
Loving that Donald Trump celebration !!
Well done sir, think you went there seconds before I did… all he needs is smaller hands, a bottle of peroxide and a ton of ronseal to complete the look!
His second goal and first assist in Bundesliga 2 after 14 games (he started 10 of them). For an attacking player it sounds very little in a team which scores a lot of goals and are in second place in the table… If he was ‘Arsenal quality’ he should have at least 4-5 goals and 4-5 assists by now…
Let’s be honest, he was only signed for commercial reasons…
