Debuchy ‘distraught’, as Giroud offers sympathy

Arsene Wenger says that Mathieu Debuchy is distraught after suffering another injury in an Arsenal shirt.

Since he joined the French international has suffered a serious calf injury, damaged ankle ligaments, a dislocated shoulder and a broken heart, and he lasted just 15 minutes of Sunday’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth.

It was his first appearance in red and white for over a year afterwards the manager said he thought the problem was ‘severe’.

“He is distraught,” said Wenger. “Everyone in the dressing room is around him [to support him.”

Teammate Olivier Giroud also offered his sympathy and revealed the 31 year old former Newcastle man was feeling very down.

“I’m sad for him,” he said in an interview with SFR Sport. “On top of him being a player that I like a lot, he’s also a great guy.

“I hope he comes back quickly and stronger than before, but it’s true it’s starting to become a lot for him.”

Poor lad. You do have to feel sorry for him. I was delighted when we signed him initially but that’s all down the pooper now. Still glad we blocked a move to United though.

Typical Arsenal… 3 players for RB and the top 2 are out injured… -___-*

Hopefully it’s nothing serious as Jenks and Gabriel both remain unconvincing based on their performances so far.

Guess we could always throw the Coq in there while the Ox can also play there. Just glad that we’ve got plenty of cover.

Jenkinson needs a few games to regain confidence and I think he’ll be fine in the absence of Hector. Not sure about Gabriel though. He lacks confidence and knowhow as a right back.

Sean

Not sure how you can come to that conclusion about Gabriel when our one piece of evidence of him as a rb was a surprisingly assured performance in that position last weekend?

Why not

Exactly what i was thinking. People see what they want to see.

Emilio Zorlakki

He is a “car crash ” defender, another Tavlarides! You must have missed the crazy lunge near the halfway line in stoppage time.Mark my words. He cost us v Watford, at OT..etc..and is constant accident waiting to happen!

I’d take Gabs over Jenko

Say whatever about the way he conducted himself last season, this is cruel luck. He suffered two debililtating long term injuries (the first through no fault of his own and a dirty cunt move I will always hate Arnautovic for) and people forget he was a France international ahead of Bacary Sagna in the national team. He could have had a chance to put all that behind him but then this happens to him again, just sad.

JackyBoy

He must be gutted and I do feel sorry for him. It’s a tough world and a tough league. We must carry on and hope for his speedy recovery.

Einstein's Relative

Bad news, especially because he actually looked really sharp and up for it while he was on.

Looks as though the ghost of Diaby has not left the club.

Somehow feel that Debuchy’s stint with us has been pretty jinxed with the various injuries he has suffered, through no fault of his. Hope this doesn’t spell the end of his career with us. Get well soon.

Lord Bendtner

Wherever he plays whenever he plays I hope he comes back stronger and regains that France National Team starting 11 spot. Tbh regarding that ManU deal, I’m Happyr that the deal was stopped, not so much because its manU, but because there’s so much instability at ManU that I think he would have gone further downhill. I really hope he recovers from these injuries and setbacks and plays either for us or any other club, as long as he plays.

Fin

Nah. I’m delighted cause fuck those cunts.

In my opinion Carl Jenkinson is just not good enough to cover for Bellerin. I also like and respect him a lot, but I have to be honest regarding his abilities. Watching our other players avoiding to pass the ball to him tells me that I’m not alone with my opinion.

For me Gabriel has earned himself a chance to try and show us, that he is the right cover for Hector.

Superanderslimpar

Would like to see Maitland-Niles (Con) get a run tomorrow night. Joke courtesy of The Tuesday Club RIP

Bobby

If Debuchy can overcome his injury problems, he would honestly be the perfect back up to Hector. If he can accept that as his role, of course.

Podolski's Left Foot

Debuchy has the same squad number as Diaby had for us… Coincidence…?

mpls

It might be worth putting it away for a couple of seasons just to be sure.

Alex

If he was fit hector would be on the bench. We signed him as our first choice RB. He was quite decent in his last game. I’ll pick debuchy over jenko when fit.
