Sam Allardyce says that Arsenal and Crystal Palace have found an agreement over the transfer of Carl Jenkinson.
Last Friday Arsene Wenger said he expected the deal to go through in the next few days, and in a press conference this afternoon, the Palace manager hinted that his transfer is more or less imminent.
SA: I think that's negotiation between the chairman and the agent, but we appear to have an agreement with Arsenal [for Jenkinson].

It looks as if personal terms are all that needs to be sorted out, and it does appear as if this is going to be a permanent move for the 24 year old.
After a long spell out with a cruciate knee injury, Jenkinson was unable to find his best form when deputising for Hector Bellerin, and with Gabriel seemingly comfortable enough covering there in the short-term, it seems Arsene Wenger is prepared to let him go.
More when it’s made official.
Really glad that he scored a goal for his boyhood club, and hope he can push on from here. Sad to see a true fan go, but I’m realistic too.
Good for him. Palace’s style will be more suitable to his style of play. Wish him the best! I think he’ll turn to be a very good signing for Palace. Even though we may have our negative thoughts about the BigSam, but he is a strong manager that gets the best out of his players.
Sad to see him go. Has to hurt when it is your boyhood club.
Best of luck Jenks.
Anyone got an idea of what the transfer fee will be? Sad to see a great character and fan leave but realistically it is probably best for all parties. Had he stayed and continued not to be up to Arsenal’s standards, the small section of ‘fans’ may have increased their vitriol and that will have hurt him a lot.
Love the guy because we can all relate to him as gooners but sadly he’s just not good enough for us. (I’m not saying he’s rubbish by the way)
Don’t feel sad Jenko.
You managed to actually play for Arsenal and score.
Fans like me just wish to see Arsenal play live once 🙁
Sad to see him go. #RIPBanter
It’s the right move
Best of luck to him. My fiance is from Finland, Jenko one of her favourite Arsenal players. Perhaps he should have chosen to represent Finland internationally because he would no doubt be first choice in their national team 😛 He also captained Finland at Youth level but being born in England he ultimately chose to represent England despite tougher competition for places.
Anyways, like I said, Best of luck to him, good man.
I wonder if he’ll be referred to as the ex-Finland under 21 international on Talksport match commentary now he plays for someone else?
He got to put one away for the club, kiss the badge and walk away knowing the fans respect him and harbour no ill will – a rare one for the modern game. Banter.
Transferred to a Fat Sam team!?
Could that be considered Corporal Punishment?
I’ll never forgive Arsenal the fuckers that booed this guy. I really wanted him to succeed at Arsenal because he’s a gooner and wears his shirt on his sleeves, never wanted for effort, people like that will always do well eventually so keep on trucking Jenko just don’t come back to haunt us please!
Agree with the sentiment – if not the mixed metaphor! A good guy who achieved his childhood ambition – albeit only for a short while. I will always warmly applaud him whenever he lines up against us!
Surely fat sam gets a few bob out of this deal
Sad to see him leave leave but best of luck to him
limited playEr
May be better suited to palace and big Sam
Many people tend to over estimate certain favorite players
At the same time they unduly criticise playerslike Girouds, per and Flamini
Ramsey is similar. We know he isn’t performing where he can be at but some prattle on about trading him when frankly I’d rather sell the limited Elneny first.
That said, Jenks could never be faulted for commitment nor Elneny but that isn’t enough.
We’ll be holding on forever
And we’ll only be making it right
‘Cause we’ll never be wrong together
We can take it to the end of the line
forever’s gonna start tonight, Jenks
I don’t get this at all. Anyone else think this is a strange decision without a replacement on the way? I’d much rather have Jenkinson than Debuchy as back up.
